In most RTS games I have played the AI rarely attacks resources instead it goes against enemy soldiers first, and only takes targets of opportunity against civilians. My general strategy build up a strong defense, while building up resource gathering. Then use long range weapons to attack their resources. Sending my army up againist their ends in Mutually assured destruction. but I have a solid backing for rebuilding while they struggle.
Every so called "learning" AI I use that againist struggles with it. when the day come it fails i don't know what I will have to try.
well look at it this way, the space shuttle gets a slightly greater than a 1:1 glide ratio, which isn't much more than a controlled free fall. The shuttle has two things going for it really high altitude and a long, long way down.
how much worse would a car do minus the heat shield of course?
actually the guys looking at the code are saying that apple did a complete rewrite of the software. Maybe Apple didn't want third party applications because the first version of the software while functional was ugly from an internal standpoint
Think OS X 10.0 versus 10.2 they work the same yet the code itself has been cleaned up.
that bug was fixed in the last two versions of the newton. But by then it was too late. Since then the Newton's technology sows up in hidden places through out OS X. Inkwell is that very tech, And it works just fine.
>>That's why we have a legal system and don't just leave justice up to the police.
Unless they say you're a 'terrah' suspect and ship you off to guantanamo bay without any kind of trial.
of course there is no one born in the USA in Guantanamo bay. It is the only reason they haven't been shut down by the courts because everyone there was born in and is a citizen of another country.
Of course that can change for the worse, then again all the advisors to bush that help setup that prision have "resigned" so they don't make the republican party look bad.
a midway space station isn't needed. a last minute refueling and supply station is. You can do a dozen or two launches of supplies up to the space station. and then send up the Mars vehicle. Heck you can send up multiple mars vehicles, in multiple stages. Assemble all of it in orbit and then send it on it's way. It would be far cheaper than trying to build one giant rocket to carry all the supplies needed for a round trip to mars.
1)the CISRO is part of the Australian government. It is not a corporation.
2) the CISRO submitted it's work to an INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS BODY. par of submitting technology to a STANDARDS BODY is the release for ANYONE to duplicate the STANDARD free of charge. If you don't want your technology to be used by others unless they pay you then don't submitt it to a STANDARDS BODY it is your choice.
They had a choice have their technology used by others, or have them use another piece of technology bypassing your tech completely. That is the only choice you can get.
Watch the sequence I avoided putting this in the first post as I don't want the poor site slashdotted.
Carbon Fiber is used often in Sail boats. Including the masts. The images don't show the break up but a small section of the mast is missing. Instead of bending it just broke, crashing everything to the ground. It could be build quailty, or a number of other factors but such things need to be sorted out. Hence why I say it can go either way. One must balance both the pluses and minuses, light weight & higher strength, with how it fails(usually in shards).
all that said I wouldn't hesitant to buy a carbon fiber mast or fly in a 787 Once it has passed all flight saftey inspections.
Carbon fiber can fail, but when it does fail it tends to do so suddenly and violently. Where metals bend Carbon fiber tends to explode. Though i have also seen the films of boeing stress testing the 787's wing bend. With far more bend than a metal wing could handle. As others have pointed out weathering may also limit the useful life of the parts.
In the End CArbon fiber isn't better or worse than a metal plane. It's just different with different things that can go wrong.
MSFT has discontinued Playsforsure and created a new stanard(they make so many) that is only playable on Zunes. anyone using older playsforsure players are screwed, or using older services.
Make sure you buy th latest and greatest today!!!
At least when you by an Apple DRM'd file you know it will still work on your older players.
apple tried that it nearly bankrupted the company. Selling an OS without a monopoly is unprofitable. why else do you think that only free software OS's have been able to make in roads while every single other for profit OS company is just about gone?
Without a monopoly no matter how gained selling just an OS will fail. Apple is worth more than Dell because they keep things locked down, and stay out of the cut throat market of cheap hardware.
This is because Novell recently claimed that it should recieve 100% of the Sun & MSFT Sco Source deals plus 7% interest. The APA SCOX loves so much says Novell recieves 100% with Novell refunding 5% back as adminstrative fees.
Either way 95% is roughly 5 million dollars more than all of SCO's value Liquidated. I wonder if the bankruptcy trustee can declare Darl Mcbride's million dollar bonus for those two sales as invalid and ask for it back? I do hope so.
Revisionist history is working both ways I see. Whenever Linux or another kernel developer would bring up a point of failure in Kolvias's scheduler instead of Fixing the problem Kolvias would lash out and say it wasn't broken.
CFS won not because it was a better scheduler at the time, but because Inglo worked with the developers to make it better, instead of fighting everyone who questioned anything about it. FOSS projects are about helping everyone, and listening to new Ideas. Something Kolvias was having a hard time doing.
well birds already know how to life so it will just be pointing them in the right direction and keeping them fed. on the plus side they will lower CO2 emmissions quite a bit, and food is easier to get than gas, at least today. I just hope they don't bring back a carnivore flying animal.
Long term reports should be saved locally anyways.
while I use online services to file my taxes every year since 1998 I store all my tax returns as PDF's. I can recall and print anyone of them quickly and easily. Turbotax Online encourages you to do i tthat way as you have proof of what you did.
Just because you backup locally though doesn't mean that the live copy isn't online.
actually on AT&T that is the feature. caller ID combined with voicemail. You dial your own number on an AT&T phone and it connects to the voicemail box to allow one to hear messages. No pins needed unless you call form an outside phone.
downside is that anyone who can spoof the callerID properly can access your voicemail.
actually local phone service is the worst of the lot. in areas where one has a choice of providers they don't rape you over price. we pay nearly $40 a month in local phone service not in cluding long distance for just one line. My cell phone is only $40. all the long distance I want. VOIP service in our area is limited by the local cable company who trims bandwidth of users who arne't using there VOIP service, which is also $40 a month.
Monopolies are always bad, even for electric producers. how can i say this? In my greater city area many small towns have their own electric providers where they buy electricity on the wholesale market and then sell it to the towns people. on average it is 50% cheaper to get electricity that way than through the regular monopoly companies. 50% friggin percent cheaper. The profit goes to maintaining the local lines, and the 12 or so people who have jobs because of it. Where competition exists so does reasonable pricing. When there is no choice there is abuse. Greed is considered a deadly sin by the Catholics for a reason.
In your case, than the Telco most likely got two benefits.
A local monopoly , and a nice hefty tax break to do the work.
I have one choice for local phone service. One choice for local cable service. If I want something else or am unhappy with either setup I get hacks that don't work quite right, or are dependent on one of those two services to make work.

4 digit UID and you like the eagles, which means you were a teenager in the early 1980's.
so just about 40.

I take it you really want Spaceballs: The search for more money to finally be released.
that sound you just heard was the your vacuum tubes burning out.

>>For commercial software, pointing to the GCC source isn't that much of a burden if you need to distribute a compiler.
It's what MSFT does for Unix Services for Windows. the GPL components simply get acknowledged and pointed back at the developers.

That is at least how i read the whole debate.
I haven't seen it yet it airs next friday in the USA for the first time.
So don't spoil it for me the previews looked good and I have to wait as it is or spoil my friday sci-fi night.

while I agree with your Sentiment I must say that windows 95 was anything but stable, yet it still had widespread use.
