I am hoping that the iPhone does one thing to the entire phone industry, and that is Visual voice mail. So you can just replay that one annoying message and not all of them.
and no I don't own an iPhone. it's too pricey for me and I don't like AT&T edge enough to actually pay for it.
But it's governement regulations that have made it that way. the BOD of corporations should be ultimately responsible for the actions of the entire company. Since Corporations are a government protected body by removing the regulations protecting them opens the BOD up to others.
I forgot the name of the paper I read just last night and I am at the wrong computer to look up the history, but Scientists have discovered that Damascus sword blades actually have formed carbon nano tubes in them. While the forgers of Damascus blades didn't know what they did they did know it worked better than plain old steel.
A sim ply fact since darl took control. SCOX goes up on Bad news. It happened nearly every single time. I can't wait to see what monday will bring though.
You have watched Transformers one to many times. We are no way that skilled. the best we can do is have Asivmo climb out of the car and shake their hands, while detonating a bomb inside his chest.
It may be three year old tech but it does everything the other two do except HD video. nintendo proved that you don't need the latest and greatest in horsepower to play a game that you will enjoy and remember.
and the controller? well that's the latest in technology. MSFT and Sony completely missed the boat on INTERACTIVE games. Though i am still waiting for VR to come back. While the game play was slow on some of those it was cool. With the better hardware today it should be a lot more realistic.
Actually given that Apple pulled a MSFT and made everything on the iPhone run as root I doubt this at least in the short term. It shouldn't be hard to correct the situation though in an update. Since it is running a mini OS X it already has multi user support.
Like MSFT couldn't make their own version of wine in half the time, or even use a VM. OS X did. the OS 9 for PPC VM was advanced enough to play OS 9 games in. Yes I did. Are you saying MSFT isn't smart enough to make such a compatiblity layer? Not even the MSFT basher in me believes that.
No the US lags behind because the telecoms refuse to upgrade a line unless all the conductors inside of it have been broken. And even then they will continue to use that line whenever possible.
I know people inside Cities who can't get DSL service because the local phone lines are in such bad shape they can't handle the signal. The phone company says not enough people want DSL in the area to replace the entire cable, yet everyone within the area routinely get calls dropped or crossed because of the poor quality of the phone lines.
Government supported Monopolies have ruined the USA. Telecoms and cable television are government supported monopolies.
go back and read the slashdot article on the subject when this first came out. Dozen of slashdot guys were reporting that cisco routers and WAP's have a flaw that would enable just such a solution and that you had to patch the routers with a patch that Cisco already had made.
Cisco makes some solid equipment, but when they let flaky stuff loose it's really flaky. It is also not something you announce to the world first, without throughly checking out your own equipment first, especially when the iPhone was working perfectly fine with tens of thousands of other access points around the country.
the problem is once you use Windows DRM you can only ever use windows to decode it. MSFT doesn't allow any form of their DRM to be decrypted on non-MSFT platforms. MSFT has disconntinued windows media player for the mac and the "replacement" flip for wmv is legally barred form decoding windows DRM files.
how is this off topic? if MSFT is involved you will have to pay to access your own data, and if you miss a payment or are late with it you lose all your data. The same goes for network neutrality. it's just the ISPs who want to nickel and dime you to death.
The Dot-Bomb of this decade is brewing and it will be these "software as services" repeating the mistakes of AOL, Compuserve, and Prodigy again. Apparently we don't learn from history, thus making us doomed to repeat it.
Even Eric Raymond has said of the years that the cups printer interface needed a lot of user friendly type of work. Apple may just do that. As I said earlier as long as it stays GPL Apple can push the project in what ever directoin they like and it will only benefit Linux and BSD's.
So your saying that the primary developer did have that right because all the copyrights where transfered to the primary developer. A practice started and encouraged by the FSF by the way.
All in all this is probably just a GPLv2/GPLv3 worry. Apple uses CUPS for it's printing setup. As long as the project stays GPL v2 it will only benefit from having someone who can push printers to a standard printer, thus making printing even better in Linux, and the BSD's.
If changing hardware is a problem for you then you will always be screwed. I can change hardware, and even OS's as easily as I can turn on a computer. All my data is in open formats with cross platform support. can you say the same?
Planned Obsolescence is normal. Windows XP will soon be EOL too. does that make MSFT evil? I plan to be free with my data, and then look for hardware that will last the longest.
that's the point. you spent $500 on the phone 3 years later you pay $80 to replace the battery, or spend another $500 on the new iPhone Nano.
I upgrade about once every three years and I have never replaced a battery. by the time the battery normally needs replacing the screen is all scratched up, half the numbers have rubbed off, and there's a dent in the housing. A new phone is just as easy. I make sure I have bluetooth, and I keep all the phone numbers on my laptop. it isn't hard to transfer phones then.
no your not. indeed you will be "heading" south along the pole. Take out a bar magent and picture yourself standing on top of it. the only place to go is south of you.
if you "walk along the pole" your still heading south.
says the man who failed to understand the analogy.
you can not go north of the North Pole. Once you get to the north pole everything is quite literally south of you, no matter which way you go. If you leave the sphere in question(ie head into space) you no longer have a compass as the magentic field that the north pole is based on no longer exerts it's force on you.
What you think Astral(space) Navagation uses compasses for heading and bearing? That we can use the sun's magentic field t find our way across this planetary system?
that was m thought. ooh Prince won't be able to sell his records in a record store that is routinely losing money, and are closing up shops faster than you can say P2P.
they have had hotels on boardwalk and parkplace it's called the BSA. but they weren't earning enough money so now they are going for the two sets of st. charles to Virginia and St. james to NY strip. They see the real money always has been in the physical product market.
In captialism you do have a choice, take a lower paying job elsewhere.
In many area's you can get a smaller job at reduced pay rates that won't leave you in the gutter. If you want more you go get more.
In many cases of people living in the gutter, a simple part time job at minimum wage would cover about 70% of their expenses, minus alcohol or drugs. It's not easy living like that but it can be done.
Rooster teeth the production company has several other projects going. one based on the sims, and a new one called 1-800-magic. RvB however will most likely be sidelined for commercials for Halo 3.
One question I would love to have answered is Mar's core still spinning?
Earth's magentic fields are produced by the huge iron core spinning around. Did Mars die because it's core stopped spinning? The huge spinning core also provide a minimum temperature for Earth.
mars may not be able to be terraformed, as it has lost it's core temperature.

that's right with WGA it will just shut off, and you can't get your stuff of it period.
even with a dead battery you can still plug the phone in and retrieve your data through the dock.
