    You lost me when you said government run programs ate inwffecient compared to private enterprise. While that is true in some cases that isn't always true. Medicare for example is 10 times more efficient dollar for dollar to private insurance. Most private insurance spends 20% ( now it used to be higher) on adminstration. Medicare is 2-3%.

    Just remember when the big three auto makers went looking for a bailout they flew to Washington in their corporate jets. If they were truely efficient they wouldn't need a politician to point out the stupidly obvious waste of funds. How inefficient does a private enterprise have to be if a politician notices their failures.

        Once you get to be a big business efficieny goes out the door. Governments are just big business with mediocore oversight However more people can see the books. If you really looked at a large businesses books you wouldn't say that private business is more efficient. The rest of your post rambles on from that misconception.

    personally I want a cremation. my ashes set at the center of a bon fire(at least 6 feet tall) a couple of solemn words said at the lighting of said fire, and then the party doesn't stop until the whole thing is ashes.

    There is that and the fact that Tesla's aren't going to need as much maintenance as a regular car. you don't need regular oil changes, etc.

    Yes you will need brake repairs, and tire repairs, but for the most part things like that in cars only happen every 30k miles or more. you don't have the constant tiny repair jobs that keep dealerships going.

    You do realize that at 70 dollars an hour he gets paid maybe 20 dollars an hour. The rest goes to equipment, taxes, insurance.

    Overhead for contractors suck. Job insurance and truck insurance are obscene.

    The problem is all trade jobs are basically salary capped at lower middle class barely above poverty levels. You really don't have a chance at earning more than 50k a year. And 35 - 40 k only comes about after 20 years of experience.

    Until we raise not the minimum wage but the average wage nothing is going to change.

    how do you figure that? I never saw the apollo space craft pull up along side another space based object latch on to it and conduct repairs on it. the closest we got was the CM and LM would latch up for a joined flight after it was in space.

    The space shuttle was big but it had very useful features like a large cargo bay that not only could take things into space but also return them. It could sleep 7 for two weeks. If we are ever going to build in space we need that ability. we have enough junk up there as it is to make building space stations even more dangerous.

    It is called plasma. It happens when you heat gases beyond a particular limit.

    A 23 pound slug traveling at Mach 7 is displacing a lot of air very quickly.

    Do you think that air will get colder?

    another moron posted another moronic theory of how the brain works based on their own personal experiences of stupidity, laziness, and lack of focus. These used to be published by quick magazines called tabloids. Now they look legitimate.

    I personally felt stupider just reading the summary. I am online at work all day. now I can't watch tv without doing something else but I have gone through a dozen books(usually ebooks but not always) since christmas without any kind of issue.

    Most bars get annoyed if you sit there and not purchase anything to eat or drink.

    So there is a cost, but you can combine it with a meal too.

    yes and no. the internet exposes more ideas to more people. remember it is relatively easy to post a youtube video that gets seen by a million people. at least 1% of 1% of that group will be complete and utter morons about it and very vocal at the same time.

    Saying there is no conspiracy involved generally leads people to believe there is one.

    I do know what you are saying at least in part, but google uses all sorts of tracking to find you. Google range rover in IE without adblock and watch for the next month. rage rover ads will feature promentaly on every website you visit even if google has nothing to do with them.

    I use adblock on safari at home and I don't have those issues. turn off adblock for a while and the web becomes something a lot messier.

    You would then have to land said colony ship. Consider trying to land the ISS. it just isn't feasible. It is to big, and you couldn't slow it down enough. The best you can do is disassemble it in space and drop down sections of it.

    Next your spaceship was only big enough for the flight crew plus embryos, and equipment. you still don't have any fresh water supplies, any waste management areas setup, no longer term living quarters.

    For the first 50 years it will be like living in a modern version of the Old west or like Firefly's frontier towns. High tech yes, but still dirt roads. Sure solar panels provide you with light heat and hot water, which makes life easier but you still need to be chopping down trees, clearing land, etc.

    ah but you are forgetting one very important fact. Countries treat each other like 7-10 years at recess treat each other. Look at my shiny toy, no give me that, don't pull my hair I am warring you, give me your money, eww billy's got cooties, etc.

    watch the UN some day and replace all the adults with children. the actions are so close it isn't funny but turns into a sad comedy.

    until countries grow up and start acting like adults none of this will improve.

    Then you aren't paying attention. I have a couple of fairway drivers designed to hit off grass instead of tees. These are angled to hit farther than an equivalent 1 or 2 iron.

    Not everyone plays golf smart. If the ground was mostly flat they may go for distance over positioning. If I can't get on the green I play short. But many people will play range of potential shot first. Instead of landing best for the next.

    Paper files last longer but the basics of updating, storage, and retrieval sucks majorly. In fact error rates as high as 30% are not unheard of. Digital files tend to be updated more frequently and access is generally easier.

    Not to mention storage space is considerably smaller

    The NSA is the exception. Still snowden proves the NSA relies on 50's era trust for documents. Why wasn't secure connections established for Hawaii? How many other sites does the NSA allow full access to their documents.

    Also the NSA fired 90% of their Admins shortly afterwards. If they were that overstaffed what else is their bureaucracy screwing up?

    the trick is CCTV' cams aren't being uploaded to the internet for the express usage of using facial recognition to pull up your google + and Facebook pages. In fact most CCTV footage doesn't last more than 24 hours before being over written.
