    seriously vanity sizing needs to end now. when sizes are roughly measurements but can then be +- 2 full sizes you have major issues.

    Guys clothes used to be okay but even that is beginning to fall for vanity sizing issues.

    Actually I think what it is , is that people are beginning to get over stimulated with ads, and now are beginning to ignore them more and more. Ads serve no purpose for our daily lives, and continuously push us to do things we don't want so we are beginning to just ignore them in mass.

    Ah but the iphone of 2007 had one feature none of the other phones on the market then(and most still today) had.

    it was easy to use for anyone. You didn't need a degree in geek to use it, or hours of video training to access your emails.

    Everything it did it did gracefully, and simply. You could hand someone who could barely use a computer the iphone and they could not only figure out how to make and receive calls, but also view websites.

    I can count the number of times I saw an add for iPhone from AT&T. they were almost always from Apple.

    The hardware vendor needs to do the advertising. MSFT isn't a hardware vendor, and in a world of cheap knockoff n cheap hardware Samsung, HTC won't do but a hand full of ads for their 500 different models of each phone.

    Apple just has one current model.

    HTC, Samsung, etc should limit themselves to no more than 5 different models(carrier variations are not true models) at a given time that way they can focus on quality not quantity.

    I have lived in a Microsoft world. and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemies.

    water boarding is better than living in Microsoft's world.

    Apple for all of it's glamor and shiny will never be over 20% market share for long. Apple can drive the industry forward like mercedes and BMW have driven forward cars. (airbags where standard in Mercedes in 197-something. Then Ford and toyota and Honda(android developers) can come in with stuff for the rest of us. Microsoft is somewhere between yugo, chrysler, and Kia. that is where my analogy falls on it's face.

    S&R is possible, but flight time on that thing will be extremely limited. if it gets a full hour of flight time I would be impressed.

    Military scout patrols might work, I could also see law enforcement uses to work with helicopters.

    The big problem on ducted fan machines is fuel consumption. hey burn through too much of it just staying up.

    I have seen yellow lights that last from 1second to 5seconds

    The one second yellows are mainly on the lights with cameras. I have also seen the ticket were a girl "ran the light" because her front bumper was in the cross walk.

    I dont mind the cameras so much as the arbritary nature of what is considered an offense. Since it can only be a civil fine then the rules should be strict.

    and our role in libya is minimal now. sure we lead the initial assault but that's only because we have the manpower/troops/material/and knowledge. Now that the defenses are gone, france and the UK have taken over.

    all those spills on the ground are caused by lawncare/ ATV people topping off secondary tanks.

    Watch a truck pull into a gas station hauling three lawn mowers with 3 5 gallon spare tanks on the ground, and them climbing on the lawn mowers to top those off too.

    or people hauling their boats and topping off at the gas station as it is cheaper, if not easier.

    There is lots of reasons gas spills at gas stations.

    With a useful load is the real trick to electric anything.

    Sure you can have an electric car today. Try loading up 2-3 of your friends, luggage for 4-5 days, to go anywhere?

    The few cars that might get 200 mile range are suddenly cut down to 75.

    Electric will come when two things happen. Better energy storage, and people get over nuclear power fears. With out nuclear power generation electric cars are worthless. Solar, wind hydro, geothermal, tidal, won't produce enough power to cover current needs, let alone tripling it by 30% of the population using electric cars.

    they fscked that study up real good.

    personally I remember a really good sunset, or an awesome view of nature far more than I remember a friggin grocery store. heck there are two that I go into regularly and one I rarely go into and the one I rarely visit I can't find anything in it.

    human sized spaces aren't more memorable. what it contains and that means to the viewer is what is rememberable.

    Actually thought while better than speech for some commands is worse for data entry.

    Human's don't think in a straight line. even typing out a full story rarely do you think the entire thing out but figure it out as you go. Sometimes as you enter in a large body of text you are also revising previous statements, or sorting out future ones.

    we can't program in parallel processes easily yet why do you think we can do input in parallel with our minds?

    Mice might go away replaced with touch screens and thought controlled items, but keyboards will be here for a long time yet.

    Well those customers are now less likely to buy or use Sony products again.

    Most will go back but with each attack Sony will lose customers.

    As for responsible disclosers there is no such thing. If you think your the only one who has comprised data then you are a fool. For all you know this is the 5th such attack and since it is the first to disclose it they are responsible. Companies will cover up any such breach as long as it isn't disclosed.

    Well look at Lord of the Rings. the full director's cut of all three movies is nearly 12 hours long and is still missing massive amounts of the story.

    What I wish, is for more and bigger budget mini-series's. So a story that runs 12-20 hours long allowing proper character development the big side of special FX's. The remake of Dune , Band of Brothers, etc

    Something you won't sit down and watch all at once, but you don't end up with 5 seasons of varying quality and actors.

    about 4 or so.

    Full power only lasts for 15 minutes. however that is enough time to bring online a gas generator, or to push through a small spike. This would be useful to stablize small spikes giving you more time to bring online, or leave offline the generators.

    I agree with everything you said except about itunes. Itunes used to be a decent media player.

    Now it is more a poor file manager than a decent media player.

    I really wish Apple would divorce Itunes media player, Itunes store, and iDevice sync from each other.

    True but there are ways to mitigate risk. Software that is easily modifable is a good start. Software that actually enforces security is another.

    the DOD should be using something like a harden version of SELinux where you have to get permission to open your email on any machine that wasn't expressly assigned to you.

    China is an exception to that and i am still trying to figure out exactly why.

    The communist government is almost exactly like the emperor's they had before. Just a different person at the top and they are no longer considered god like. china has been ruled in roughly the same way for several thousand years. I don't think they will change all that much.

    Iran on the other hand like all other dictatorships revolution is the ONLY succession mechanism. It is very rare for a dictatorship(king, emperor, whatever) to go smoothly. there is always some confrontation that sometimes escalates and sometimes stays mostly hidden.

    So every 50 years or so expect another revolution in the arab countries unless they start to open up their governments to the people. Europe already has mostly done so. the Kings and Queens are mostly figureheads now.

    MSFT has two "products" that make them money. Windows and Office.

    You take either one away, and the rest of the company will collapse into itself quickly. Xbox technically still isn't profitable. all the money MSFT spent on Xbox has yet to be earned back as revenue. (it is getting close though)

    Bing, Xbox, windows Live. Only MSFT can afford to spend billions to keep money losing operations going for a decade before they finally start to become profitable.

    That is how much MSFT rely's on Windows and Office sales. If someone made Office even slightly less relevant then MSFT is literally screwed. Sure they won't go down quickly, or quietly there is too much money at stake. Tablets running android are an extreme threat to Windows. because it show options exist. Intel can survive but Windows 8 if it doesn't have a decent touch UI available with MSFT Office also having a decent hybrid touch UI then it too will be available then it will start to become less relevant.

    Personally I want Ballmer in charge of MSFT for the next 10 years. He has no vision, and little personality. He can drag down MSFT the way John scully dragged down Apple. Marketing departments always destroy what they touch.

    If there is a monthly fee, then the moment you stop paying is the moment you stop playing.

    WOW is useless if you can't afford the monthly fee. At $150 a year it is a pretty expensive game.

    COD will be $100 a year.

    For that I can buy and beat 2-3 regular games.

    In the USA. train stations are very seldom in useful areas of a given city. more often they are farther out than the airports.

    The cit I live in and my parents city. The train stations are 10-15 miles away from anywhere useful, and while they are attached to the bus stations the busses don't go every where, indeed.

    For fun I timed it out once. to go by bus/train to my home to my parents would take something along the lines of 6 hours to travel what I do in my car in 90 minutes doing the speed limit. The train ride itself is nearly 2 hours long and costs $30. My car uses $12 of gas.(at $4 a gallon)

    So why spend more, take longer doing it, to travel? when for $24 I can have a mom cooked meal and spend a couple of hours with my family in the same time it would take me to get to the there by bus/train.
