With their driver issues, they could have the super best card in the land and it won't make any difference since the drivers suck so badly you have to upgrade them constantly until you get a (hopefully) semi-stable release (it only boots once in a while now).
And that's how I use my iPad. I run Shadowrun games and dabble in a few others. For the purposes of getting set up for the game, I use the PDFs and a notebook (lately I've been using my iPhone and Evernote). But during the game when I need to look something up, I know where it is in the book and can flip to it then back and forth a few pages until I find the right spot. With search, it finds every instance in the PDF and I have to slog through the search looking at each page until I find the right one. Maybe search is faster but flipping sure does seem faster.
Actually for the 35 or so years I've been on my own, service in general has been pretty good. And I've had access to the Internet since... damn, I can't recall:)
(Hmm, do you count Johns Hopkins in 89 or BBS's since 84?)
When I was working as a contractor for NASA, all of the Government computer jobs were contracted out (the "smaller government" initiative) so the people who were left could concentrate on the business of running NASA. This was through the 90's into the early 00's. Don't know how it is now.
I still have a 9pin Din on my keyboard (old IBM Model M) with a 9pin to PS/2 conversion plug. That plugs into my kvm and the extension cable has a PS/2 connector on the end for the keyboard and mouse.
Well, the problem is it isn't clear. It does talk about an Open Content Management System (CMS) and the book is about CMS (Content Management System) Made Simple (CMSMS). And the rest of the review talks about CMSMS (Content Management System Made Simple).
The local city wi-fi closed its doors recently and its service was picked up by a local phone company. Part of the problem was the price, at least for me. They wanted $50 a month for city wide wi-fi. My Comcast bill is $60 a month for basic cable (no digital box so we have HD which is extra if you get the box) and comes with high speed internet.
See I know who Beckham is because of the movie, Bend it like Beckham. And I know who Michael Jordan is although like you, I immediately thought of Michael Jackson too and was trying to puzzle out what he had to do with sports:)
That's ok. I'm an American and while I know the guys name, like above I wouldn't be able to tell you which sport he plays. Sounds like football based on the Super Bowl ring reference above yours.
Talking to telemarketers will do that to you.

No no, it's running on a Cray-1. If it were running on a Droid, it'd be a bit faster.

300 quatloos on nabsltd!

Been using computers since 1979, from big green screen or amber screen monitors to B/W and color TVs on up to CRTs and now LCDs.
For me it isn't "yet" yet.

Two and a half men. :D

Good! I'm not the only one then. Max Von Sidow was awesome.

So?
(I know, I know. I'm in the minority of folks who don't watch sports. Before someone gets their panties in a knot, for me it's "So?")
[John]
Of course. Otherwise how would they get malware installed?
I have been having fun clicking the 'x' on the Facebook ads to remove them. "Why are you deleting this ad? x Uninteresting"
Yep, they're all uninteresting. :)
[John]
Cool. Sarah Palin has an account on Slashdot!
Hey, how's that "drill, baby, drill" workin' for ya?
[John]
Actually WV was is a Union state. It seceded from Virginia to join the Union. Virginia would be part of the CSA.
[John]
That's pretty much anyone that's played the game actually.

But my iTouch is already there.
[John]
Hey, where do I put this USB key or Live CD in my iPad? :)
[John]
Wasn't there a recent Slashdot article where some banks are now providing bootable media for use when accessing the bank's website?
Won't work with an iPad though :)

So it could be clearer with some parenthesis :)

You should harness those political winds, a windfarm would be perfect. :)
