I think it sounds like a honey trap for investors who want to waste their money and I really wonder whether the will file a "software patent" or do other crap :-)

    Sorry, this is off-topic.

Poland's intervention against Software patents is courageous while Poland's support of the US invasion was just prostitution. The supporters of the US objected the war in Iraq and tried to slow down the misguided US machine. Those nations were the friends of the US and they were willing to pay a price for their honesty.

I regard soldiers as an instrument of policy, the guys who have to do the dirty job. A braveness and respect cult just creates the wrong image of their work. Who cares whether a soldier is brave or not, they have to do their job and they do it, not because they want it but because they are ordered so. In communism they had "heros of work", in the US a new kind of hero cult seems to take place. But that's bad propaganda for uneducated people.

They filed patents for various technologies they claim to own such as the Digital timestamp and so on. Eolas also forced IBM to license their "e"-Trademark also used by the eBusiness advertisement campaign from IBM.

What is a patent privateer? A patent privateer obtains patents and sues/blackmails technology companys in the market place.

Software patents are evil. It is time to get organised and to get rid of them.

Software patents are bad for the market and patents that have to be granted royality-free are not worth the transaction cost burden the software company pays to the patent industry (= patent professionals). Patent trolls contribute much to market insecurity in the software market.

I hope in Europe we will get safe from software patents. It is worth to fight for that.

I don't believe that conceptual protection of software was bad but patents ARE the wrong instruments. Players such as FFII's Hartmut Pilch propose Industrial Copyright to fill the gap. It there is a gap.

For the EU Patent directive European market players need certain amendments into the directive.
