I've seen and used an iPod and while I think it's pretty cool it's still overrated and overpriced like most Apple products. Apple is 50% tech and 50% hype.
Get a clue man, Valve is NOT owned by Vivendi. At one time they owned the rights to Half Life, but Valve got them back. I think it's awesome that Valve can ban pirates and I hope they do cheaters next.
Doom 3's story wasn't enough to compel me to finish the game HL2 on the other hand has drawn me in with a combination of gameplay and story. So, I'm going to have to disagree on that issue.
Funny that. I had everything pre-loaded and up to date over the last couple months and when HL2 was unlocked it took me 10 minutes from entering my Visa to actually playing. I paid for the game and don't need a crack.
Another gamer with an over-inflated sense of entitlement. Valve owes nothing to anyone. Don't like them, then don't buy their games as you said. However, don't bitch about release dates as everyone fucks that up and it's not like Valve is an exception.
There is a vast difference between the old Jukebox Creative players and these new ones. I have owned them both and Zen series is far better. Although the 40GB Nomad still makes a decent portable digital recorder.
I use an 1820M as well as many DirectX and VST plug-ins. If it doesn't support all of that I'm not interested. If it doesn't support DX and VST plug-ins very few other pros will be interested as well.
Does anyone have proof it was MS and not a contractor hired to make the sounds? Last time I checked they contracted out that sort of thing. Then again it makes MS look bad so it deserves a post.
You could just buy a portable video player that does everything the iPod does and more for about the same price.

No, 70 million sold. How many are second or third replacement units? How many are playing pirated games. It makes a difference.

You are making a HUGE assumption and that is that just because there are more PS2s that will mean that automatically there will be more GTA sold. It's quite possible, but it's not a given. Especially when you consider how many bought the first game. Oh, and Halo actually sold over 4 milion by about January 2004 so I assume it's higher than that now - http://www.gamesindustry.biz/news.php?aid=2882

So, if it does sell as much as they say it will are you going to say it's all a big conspiracy? Is it not possible for a game to sell more than GTA?
So, it's okay to link to a pirate site on Slashdot?

Given the choice, I will take Halo of Metroid for the controls alone. MP had one of the worst FPS console controls schemes ever. It's not like they couldn't have done it better, but then it would have been similar to Halo and because it's the Big N it has to be different.

You forgot to mention Rio and their great portable players. I think the Carbon is every bit as sexy as an iPod.
Agreed, the iPod worship around here is quite thick.

I forgot to mention that I also disagree on the point of polish. HL2 feels like a far more polished and well thought out game.

For me it would have to support VST, VSTi, DX, adn DXi as well as my Emu sound card.

Too late, Sony already did that a while ago - http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/
No, it was Microsoft so by definition it's wrong and evil.

Yeah, good luck with getting a decent freelance gig for a gaming company.

Yeah, that whole new single player story just sort of slipped by your notice I guess?
It should have stayed as flamebait as would a post about an iPod looking like a medical device for trendy seniors.
You could just plug them into wall outlets and have the signal carried over the power or wireless.
Apparently he the worst.
