Ah alright, I was under the impression that users were using these on a laptop/desktop, not as an image dump vault. I understand now though. However i do still wish more devices would get power-over-USB, at least for desktop purposes (wireless mouse chargers, external enclosures, etc
Why? Because hauling around a USB enclosure to, say, a friends house, is very convenient. But when it comes to actually bringing it, you have to take along a stupid wall adapter to plug in! It makes sense to have a battery operated one - just ONE cable going from the box to the computer. (Then again, they could do like what Canon has done with their scanners - gotten power over USB).
I've driven one of these on a long drive, and I can attest to it's speed. I managed 170KPH on a steep uphill climb. Don't forget that an electric motor has FAR more torque than any gas engine, at least relative to the measured horsepower!
What if you had to leave the place really quickly, except the door wasnt lined up with the exit, forcing you to wait for it to revolve before you can leave! then again, i guess you can keep people away by turning your place till theres no entrance. (And yes, i know that there must be some logical solution i.e. the outer balcony acts as a universal exit, but im just being funny)
All you have to do is insert ten thousand quarters to unlock it from the rest of the carts out front!
I worked at Safeway for a bit during high school, I know how people mistreat the carts (its actually probably the staff's fault that the carts never drive straight!) So what happens with an expensive gadget cart?
Try using an Xbox. When modded, they become quite powerful - good enough to run dvds, divx, and best of all, music of course. You can install Linux on to them!
They said the SAME thing many years ago. In Canada, we don't have a gun problem. Thats an unarguable fact. We're a small nation compared to most, and this kind of legislation (or near legislation) is useless.
This is the SAME country that effectively BANNED the Power Rangers TV show from the airwaves because a single stupid parent neglected to keep an eye on their kids while they supposedly beat each other to near death because of "violent TV shows like Power Rangers". I dont know about you, but flailing people in pink suits wouldnt have made me kill someone.
Video games are simply a market for 18-25 year olds. And there ARE games that are meant for older gamers, and some for younger gamers. Simply put, if a child is under 17, their parents are most likely going to PAY for the game (I see it at work EVERY day), so what's the point of ID-ing anyone under 17? They are going to play the game no matter what, so let's make it an issue parents should deal with, not make it a burden on retailers. How stupid am I going to feel asking a 12 year old who is buying Counter-Strike for his ID... How many of you know 12 year olds that carry their birth certificates with them? After all, they don't have licenses!
Hah. Everyone knows that the Dolphins will attack from UNDER the sea, not in the air! It is only a waste of money, we're expending resources for no reason, and we'll never be prepared for when the day of the Dolphin comes....
Apple Computer owns mammals.org, but you dont see anyone speculating on an Apple branded Mammal any day soon. Or do you.... *curious glance*
Companies buy domains by the dozen. Even old Arnie registered his name as well as all the possible misspellings of his name so that everything would come back properly. And so that losers wouldnt prey on mistyped addresses with stupid "EASY WEB SEARCH TOOL NOW!" sites.
"Of course scientists caution this would have to continue for at least a couple more years to be a trend or anything to get excited about."
Of course if the ozone hole got BIGGER by even 5%, we'd hear about it and feel guilty, wouldnt we? Where is the front page story about the fact that something GOOD is happening? We need more news like this to be exposed. Frankly I think that the global warming naysayers are correct, and anyone who thinks it's anything more than a global climate change (In fact its getting COLDER Where I live) is just out to get big industries, imho.
Why not make it have a use in vehicles, or pretty much any application. If a certain engine area or passenger compartment catches on fire or overheats, the liquid in a chamber or what have you, solidifies and blocks the spread of fire, or whatnot.
OK so i dont have the best idea but I Can see it getting used for safety features.
I used to own a PowerBook G3 Pismo, and it had the best battery life I've ever seen - and it was a used one about two years old too! Of course, you can't buy them new any more, but current Apple laptops have pretty good battery life. It helps if you dim the screen a bit, use CPU power conservation methods, and if you copy the DVD to the hard drive (sounds complicated, but isnt) you'll get a lot more life. It's the constant spinning of the drives combined with lots of video and cpu power usage that will kill your laptop easily. Apple laptops, for what they are (smaller and more compact than bulky and pointy PC laptops), have really good battery life. On a flight from Toronto to Vancouver, I had my powerbook running the whole time - and this is a 5-6 hour flight, and it was also only at 80% life when I started the flight. With the screen off and only playing MP3s, it said "0%" for about 3 hours!

State.
Canada, we can do better than this.
If they want to charge when someone hears a radio station in a business environment, why dont I get paid to look at billboards? Or to wear a shirt with a logo? It's always backwards when it comes to the people who want the money - thats all they want, they dont want to dish it out.
Any medium sized site will be completely torn to pieces when it gets slashdotted (well not really torn, but at least taken offline), and even popular news sites get taken offline by the slashdot effect. However, major sites, such as BUNGIE's! ahem, would not go offline, since they are backed by quite powerful servers. This site seems to be surviving the slashdot effect a little TOO well if you ask me, so I will come to the conclusion that it is owned by bungie and has been used as a marketing tool for halo. let's check back in the "3" and then "17" days the popup indicates...
By the way, the META tags indicate a little more than a hoaxy thing
"honey, bees, Margaret, small busines, beekeeping, hives, retail, market, Operator, bug, buggy, virus, infestation, WTF is going on with this damn thing, parasite, strong intrusive inclination, medium, messages, shipwreck, network throttling, SOS, hoax, game, bee hoax, bee game, survivor, survive, evade, resist, escape, a little help would be appreciated, thanks and tip your waitress, sleep, is, good, install, reinstall, re-reinstall, re-re-reinstall, I, love, bees"
In other news, Microsoft has patented Looking Out The Window, crushing both personal weather forecasts, as well as another senseless infringement on their OS trademark.
I haven't forgotten about those, I just didn't mention them because they aren't as widespread as normal diesel, though I would love to see more ethanol, biodiesel, and even natural gas powered vehicles on the market. The industry seems to be leaning towards hydrogen fuel, which if produced uncleanly produces more pollution than electricity. They have a working hydrogen generation station at the Munich airport, and all of their service vehicles and passenger buses are powered by hydrogen. Ethanol is great for lots of things, and the good thing is that it's synthetic! (Hell I even have a cannister of it sitting on my desk right now. No, I'm not crazy....)
I drove one of these once. Zippy and small, but not very practical - one-seater designs have never been successful. Yes, it's economical, but I've also driven the Smart (here in North America), and it's a much better car, even if it does consume gas/diesel.
Yes, I've used backwards stuff. However, my PS2 was one of the original models, so it doesnt play things properly anymore, however I can still play Final Fantasy VII just fine, and thats all that matters...

A pop-up blocker from MSN? That's like stopping someone from hitting you with a hammer, then stabbing yourself in the foot!
Still, it isn't as good as a "mysterious hidden LED"!

Balrog bones to follow.

Simple as that
