i had a connecting flight on my way to spain once. i flew lufthansa (out of detroit metro) to frankfurt, then frankfurt to madrid. i flew economy class and i found it impossible to fall asleep because i had no leg room. every german flight attendant was very hot, by the way. as i was saying... i am 6"3 and i had no leg room whatsoever. i felt cramped the whole eight hour flight. then we flew iberia from frankfurt into madrid, by then i was so tired and exhausted from no sleep and the jet lag i barely had a clue as to what was going on. on my way home i flew iberia from sevilla to madrid, then spanair from madrid to frankfurt. this is where the secret lies. on spanair (madrid to frankfurt) i got the seat in the emergency row. that was absolutely wonderful! the key is to buy a third class ticket and get an emerency row seat. you have the leg room of a first class seat. too bad that was only a two hour flight. then i flew lufthansa home and was back to being cramped and this old lady in front of me kept on trying to push her seat back.
I thought that making a telemarketing call to a cell phone was against was prohibited. Also, that the owner of the cell phone can actually receive compensation paid by the telemarketer by means of a fine? Maybe this is only for Michigan or the law is in the process of being enacted. There are three cell phones in my family and we've never received any telemarketing calls before. I looked around and found this but I could not find any thing else related to restriction specifically with mobile phones.
Do tell, what ARE those seven year olds reading, Michener books? Maybe The History of Mankind while they're at it after they finish the boxcar children over the summertime? I'm aware that by those grades they can read competently but still, a seven year old with an email account all by him or herself seems a little sketchy. I think most third graders used the telephone to call friends, just like you and I, too. But to factor in seven year olds with 18 year olds and not even discriminate between who answered what for which age group seems poorly inaccurate. Not to mention the fact that 18 year olds are under completely different legal setup (and even parenting situation) regarding email and private information, which was my point in the first place.
I may need some clarification here, but wasn't there some sort of child protection law passed that had to do with children under thirteen years of age. I recall seeing it when I created a hotmail account for some reason and when you registered an AIM screen name. I think that most have been exposed to a certain degree to handle the porn emails by 13, but that's beside my point. Does the "child" need have parental consent before 13? I don't feel like reading the bill. Does anyone know more about this? Perhaps if the individual (let's not use the connotation "child") is younger than thirteen are the parents responsible or what?
agreed. that survey is absolute crap. last time i checked most seven year olds are still learning how to read in first and second grade. not to mention numerous problems of sample bias, etc
Agreed. I think 14 is a little old to be having a cow over receiving porno spam. I know it's a fiery debate over what's moral, but I think that at 14 if the individual isn't mature enough to not become over offended or disgusted or just simply delete the mail and forget about it he or she is sorta weak. And for the 14+ like 15 through 17.. gimme a damn break if they are stupid enough to use those silly emails as good porn resources they are stupid. i think they know where the good stuff can be found by now.
nah, PETA won't bother to post comments. they'll just order their connections to start blowing up the complex in which the slashdot webserver is housed.

a slightly offtopic comment. patents can be abused by drug companies. when a patent for a drug is about to expire the company will release a similar drug and patent it to stop the generic companies from being able to profit. examples would be the weekly prozac and clariton-d. i am sure there are many more. i watched a dateline special on it once.
When movies come out on DVD/VHS how often do you think stores check to see if a minor is purchasing a rated R movie? It varies depending on each store. Take a look at the age range of people purchasing video games. A good portion are under 18. And I really think that video is game is a lot different than movie (obviously) and so the same type of system really can't apply. Overall, I think that people get mad and worked up over the issue and start pointing fingers. It's the video games fault, it's the media's fault. Gee, the last time I got in trouble for getting into a fight it was MY fucking fault and my responsibility to improve my own self-control, not some stupid rating system enforced by moronic legislature. How can I as a future parent enforce any discipline to a would-be violent son or daughter if I blame it on something else. The last thing I'd do is not make them take responsibility for their own actions. All instances of violence are different, but I think that looking for the answer will result in a several factors that work together with the chemistry / environmnent of the individual. This same type of debate exists many other issues such as nature vs nurture (genetics/environmet) and to what degree does each play a role.

I was in spain and i tried a san miguel (migual). it was a light colored, and it just killed. i do say that i think the bad taste of wine started to go away a bit near the end of the trip (10 days). they served wine at dinner and lunch like a standard and we were all wanted to drink it because we can't in the states. i only could handle one sip of the beer though. i am pretty interested in acquiring this taste of beer.
i tried beer once while on a vacation in europe. it tasted very bitter and disgusting to me. the same was for wine and champagne (champagne the least), but beer was the worst. now, i have nothing against beer in fact i am sorta sad that there are all these people that love beer (for responsible reasons), yet i seem to have a bad taste for it. for all you beer drinkers enthusiasts out there, is this something that goes away? is it an acquired taste? please comment.
ha, that is funny. i know that is a joke, but pigeons were trained during world war II to carry bombs onto enemy ships at sea. the idea was never carried out in actual combat, but it is interesting to read about. i watched a video in my high school psych class once. the pigeons would learn to play a series of notes on a miniature piano or point their beaks in a certain direction in order to receive food.
umm, ok. that's really wonderful, although out of nowhere. i dual boot mandrake linux and windows. i doubt anyone really cares. this type of decision is really a personal choice for your own personal computer.
You can probably expect it to use accelerated graphics because Fallout Tactics used such. I just hope that if Fallout 3 does come out it will have LESS bugs. fallout 2 was very buggy, and still was after the patch release. of course, if you were addicted to fallout 2 like i was many summers ago you'd remember the terrible save/load times too. has anyone played fallout tactics? how were the loading and saving times in comparison to fallout 2?

what about the multiverse you insensitive clod!
damn, this guy really scored: here
kudos to you buddy. perhaps you could join the zero altitude club in your nifty little homemade cockpit.
But there are so many 80's movies... Bless them all... of which are you referring to?
What's a cursory web search? Beats me. I do know, however, what a dictionary.com search is.
