Memory location for setting screen color for commodore 64: 53280. For changing the border, 53281. For some reason those numbers are burned in my brain from 25 years ago.
I can't speak for the Vista test team methodology (and I'm sure they should not be posting on slashdot in any case!) but contractors and vendors are NOT all running the same hardware (let alone FTEs).
Reminds me of art.com, a web site I consulted for (different company from current owners of that domain). Before the site specializing in selling posters and prints was launched in the late 90s, the art.com domain belonged to Advanced Rotorcraft Technology, some helicopter tech organization. IIRC, the poster company paid something like half a million dollars for the domain.
Circa 1985, I was an intern at a NASA center. We had a batch job that was running for months, and no one could figure out why. Turns out the job required just over a week to run, and someone was turning the computers off every weekend. Come Monday morning, the computer would reboot, the job would restart, and would run until 80% or so completion before the computer was turned off and the whole mess started over again!
My parents have had the same phone number since 1973. Until she died, my grandmother had the same phone number since the 1930s when they referred to the first two digits by letters instead of numbers.
I do, but I like my job too much to give it out :-)
I call fake. I'm a Microsoft Vendor, and have access to the MS phonebook via Outlook - there is no one named Nice White in there.

I will trade you for my betamax.
Worst...spelling..of "Apple" and "Mac"....EVER!
So you are a blue badge? Dude, I wouldn't admit that if I were you!
Bingo.

Actually, yes. In fact, those of us inside Microsoft (I'm a Vendor, and not on Vista team) have had access to SP1 for over a month.
The real WTF (tm) is that you can afford to take that much time away from work!
Don't you mean Microsoft Music? Oh wait, its not official yet!
And don't forget the most important part of the job - part monkey!
"Everybody wants to work in marketing" from GoDaddy.com last year.
Sad about yahoo leaving, and looking for a MS alternative? Let me introduce you to this new-fangled up and comer:
(I really do, although what I do here has nothing to do with search)
I prefer Blocko (ala The Simpsons)

Wow is right - I just happened to see that poster for the first time on someones office door, not 10 minutes ago. What are the odds?!?!?

Is it just me, or does this story remind anyone of The Onion headline, "Microsoft patents ones and zeros"
However, I call fake for other reasons.
I had the Sears knockoff of that game - remember Sears Telegames? They had an Atari 2600 knockoff too.
"Campus"? "Company Shuttles"? You don't work for Microsoft, do you?
I watched the fireworks on TV from a Seattle-area bar, and no one noticed anything was wrong. Of course, that was after 8 straight hours of drinking.
Personally, I take my disability check and head for Pants 'n At.
