Why didn't you pay $90 (Australian) for a portable DVD player. I picked up one for train trips (over 2 hours per day). It is smaller than a laptop, 7 inch screen, plays DVD, VCD, mpeg4 (avi), MP3, CDDA. It has not region encoding (region free players are legal here). Most importantly, it can play my backups so I don't risk damaging the originals on the train. The only thing it doesn't do is play games.

BTW, for comparison the PSP is still over $300 here and the DS can be purchased for $150.

Microsoft has gotten away with the browser bundling because it was a first offence.

I have word that the bigger players in the anti virus/malware markets have preempted Microsoft and are already being advised by relevant legal departments. They (the AV/M companies) cannot do anything unless Microsoft bundles competing software. But as soon as they do, you can be assured that if there is any drop in revenue seen by the AV/M companies, Microsoft will find itself in court again. Next time it will not be a first offence.

I can see it now, the petrol companies have to operate on Sunday to meet requirement*. To offset the increase in salaries of the employees, the petrol companies have passed the expense to consumers and they will now pay $1.60 per litre.

And for those who think it would not make a difference, I have seen a burning rabbit run over 100 metres through the bush, lighting the undergrowth as it went. We had a fun time trying to extinguish the fire before it had a change to take off.
