The people are Aussies - not Ozzies.....which would make a nation of ex-heavy metal rockers who did too many drugs in their youth and now walk around not quite sure whats really going on in the world who would still vote John Howard as premier.
For real hardcore nerds you can add Oz to the list off programming languages you have heard about but never delved into.
And one more point is that - Zip/email/web browsing/images are all open formats - WMA is a proprietary one and hence anyone building anything to do with it will pay for it.
By leveraging the market it is not neccesarily referring to what the consumer pays.
A company is deciding what format to stream its data in - Real or WMA for instance...if the company decides 'everyone has WMA aside from the commie mac/linux users' it then goes with the WMA format for which it can be charged by MS. WMA then becomes the mp3 of the video world. Anyone who wants to build a media player other than WMA also has to pay MS a slice...a nd if you are writing a client you have to match what the servers are doing.
Not just games (though mainly this). The cost of all the other software I've invested in (and I'm mainly thinking of my music studio stuff) is what puts me off going Mac. I could maybe pay the extra cost for the hardware/OSX...but not for studio software as well.
In fact this system is used a lot in turboprop aircraft as well, but going one step further.
The source of the noise is the turboprop fans which then push the sides of the aircraft in/out causing noise (acting as a speaker). So instead of
just cancelling the noise you can cause walls to vibrate out of sync to stop the noise being transmitted inside the cabin and as a by products lengthens the life of the wall.
Well the other thing to take into account is that the sound forms a field. So the level of cancellation can vary depending on where you are relative to the sound source and the noise cancelling speaker.
Well the biggest hidden secret fact is that Alexander Graham Bell did not actually invent the telephone. As was finally recognised by the US Congress in 2002, the inventor was a poor Italian immigrant Antonio Meucci.
Meucci had taken a 'one year renewable intent to patent' out on the invention as he couldn't afford the full patent, and a few years later Bell, who had access to Meucci's materials got hold of the stuff and claimed it as his own.
from the article:
He sent a model and technical details to the Western Union telegraph company but failed to win a meeting with executives. When he asked for his materials to be returned, in 1874, he was told they had been lost. Two years later Bell, who shared a laboratory with Meucci, filed a patent for a telephone, became a celebrity and made a lucrative deal with Western Union.
Meucci sued and was nearing victory - the supreme court agreed to hear the case and fraud charges were initiated against Bell - when the Florentine died in 1889. The legal action died with him.
Well we have already created new species of life form - albeit at the bacterial level.
The classic example is the feeding of antibiotics to a petridish full of bacteria. Not all are killed - the ones that survived are used to breed more an repeat until the bacteria (after enough generations have passed) become dependant on the antibiotic.
So, from a theological POV (and yes this does go back to the mouse), if we've already
created new life forms in the lab, what does that mean? If it is evolution in action - thats the simplest explaination. If its not and god meant for the new bacteria to be created under the appearance of evolution then He controls the amount of antibodies being fed to the sample (=> no free will on the part of the scientist) and how the samples DNA mutates on each iteration.
So if god does control the creation of life forms he's really using human scientists to give mice a step up, so there is nothing heinous going on as its god will these mice be given intelligence. If he isn't (or can't through non-existance) then the ethical implications need to be taken on board as He's already let us get away with making a new life form (however unsophisticated that little bacterium may be).
Well I do wear headphones at work regularly

there aren't people discussing things in the room
(though usually they are).
A modern day thinking cap perhaps?
If you use or install television receiving equipment to receive or record television programme services you are required by law to have a valid TV Licence.
So that means it just needs to be installed - even if the TV was never plugged in - you would need to pay for a licence
note also that the uk has the highest number of cctv (surveillance cameras) per capita of any country in in europe by a healthy margin.
We also have the highest number of prisoners per capita of 128 (per 100,000), but in spite of all our cameras this is still waaay less then the USA with the world record of 702.
In fact as soon as any original piece of software thats developed by a third party becomes popular or useful MS can start bundling their version of it with the OS and completely kill of the need for people to install that software.
eg unzipping files, CD burning, GoBack type functionality are all part of XP now... not saying this isn't useful, but it is incredibly easy for them to decide that they want to cut down on people using third party products by incorporating that behaviour in the full package. The problem is when is this about whats good for the user (eg unzipping file) and when is it about cornering a market (IE, WMP)?
Philippa Forrester was hotter. And Robot Wars hasn't been the same since she left either.

Given he can change velocity, he must have some sort of propulsion system in order to allow for conservation of momentum.
So the question is - what orifices does he use as outlets for his emissions? And on days when he knows he's going to have to go really fast, does he fill up on Baked Beans?
Well I'd really start worrying when they've built a robot policeman and take over the police force....a different type of PC (as we Brits also refer to coppers).
Perhaps that would be a joint project with the RIAA?
The country would be Oz (as in Wizard of).
The people are Aussies - not Ozzies.....which would make a nation of ex-heavy metal rockers who did too many drugs in their youth and now walk around not quite sure whats really going on in the world who would still vote John Howard as premier.

Cue vicous circle...
I think they'd much rather go for cricket!!! This current one day series is one of the best ever!!!
No chance of dubya figuring out who won though!
Given the announcement yesterday that the mp3 standard is going to support surround sound, does AAC do it?
It would make sense if we are talking about playing audio DVD's through your lounge 5 speaker system.

This is the system that uses this technique of cabin quietening systems.
It is different to what is discussed above as the sound field is just being quietened inside the cabin - an enclosed space
Well the other thing to take into account is that the sound forms a field. So the level of cancellation can vary depending on where you are relative to the sound source and the noise cancelling speaker.

And you can double the amount of time saved by watching the TV while listening to the radio soundtrack.
So that means it just needs to be installed - even if the TV was never plugged in - you would need to pay for a licence

Isn't the point of the program to give the army a system to kill with?!
But with the dollar so weak they can do everything at half price! And get Australians on the cheap to do authentic British accents.
