I'll agree with that. I don't believe that Bush Sr deserved to be impeached for anything he did. I also don't think Clinton should have been. He did lie under oath, but I'll take a lot of lying under oath to a little "trampling on your rights."

On the contrary, I've spoken to many people who have used and hated Vista and a few who have sworn if off entirely. I started using Vista at the end of February. I dropped it and switched back to XP in the middle of July. The few benefits of using Vista don't come anywhere near the downsides. I liked the new look & some explorer elements, but there were some core elements that just wouldnt work the way I wanted, as well as many large issues with stability. (The computer was built in february with over the top specs.) XP runs very fast and solid as a rock on it.

I could go into details, but I don't want to become a troll. Suffice to say, I'm happy on XP, wasn't on Vista.

I think his point was that it looks like it might be impossible to RUN YOUR OWN dedicated server the way so many other PC games allow you to do, assuming they stick with the traditional "Live" way of doing things. There are thousands of user-run dedicated servers out there for the HL/HL2 series, the UT series, and TONS of other games. Some of them are extremely popular in their communities.

The way live has traditionally worked, you only host a server for a single "match" at which point you can either host another one or search for a game yourself. The major hang-up in this is the added system demands coming from running a server and playing on that server at the same time.

We'll really just have to see what comes out.

I'd honestly be VERY surprised if MS didn't release the next version a LOT faster than they released Vista. I don't know if I'd bet on 2009, but I'd bet on 2010 "or sooner."

In late 2004 they basically scrapped longhorn and started over. In essence they built all of vista between late 2004 and early 2007. There's no reason they can't design the next step in another 2 or 3 years.

"Microsoft Tax?" What do you expect? In order to use OSX you have to own apple hardware. Parents buying computers for their kids for college/hs are going to care about one thing: Price.

You can pay $1300 for a mac...or you can spend $700 for a PC. Which do you THINK parents are going to buy? Parents aside, what do you think MOST people are going to go with.

Apples decision to limit their OS to their hardware is what is killing their adoption rate. If I could buy OSX for my PC...i probably would, just so I could have both. But I don't want to have to spend twice as much on my computer just to run an OS that TECHNICALLY doesn't do as much as Windows does...

Linux *generally* isn't as mature enough or well known enough to land on retail PCs either.

That leaves Windows. Apple has the solution but refuses to bend over and pick it up. Linux might have it someday, but right now most people lack the technical knowledge to use it...

It's apples own fault that more people don't pick it up. If Dell were able to sell a PC and offer the users the choice of OSX or Windows...I bet with Apple's marketing you'd get LOADS of people adopting it for the first time.
