You know, you can turn off the chat bubbles and view your buddy list by category just fine in iChat AV. It's all in the View menu. First thing I did was turn off the bubbles when I got it, and I couldn't be happier. As for the voice chat, blame AOL for that one. iChat's implementation is miles better, though.

You want to talk about scheduling consistency? Try Nickelodeon. After growing up with the network and watching its decline, I'd all but given up when they brought out an excellent, funny, and intelligent cartoon, Invader Zim. Unfortunately, it was cancelled halfway into its second season, and four episodes remain unaired. Meanwhile, Viacom refuses to market a DVD, and Nickelodeon has stopped airing it, despite posts on their site. I'll check their TV schedule and possibly find an instance of that or another show, and they just won't show it, instead opting for another rerun of "Rocket Power" or something. Ech.

I definitely agree with that. I've got broadband, I definitely care about games, but I don't care too much about most sports games. I miss Halo, but I see that as a stolen game, rather than an "XBox Exclusive." My GameCube, GBA, Emulator collection (PS1, SNES, NES, GBA, all with either original games or self-ripped ROMs), iBook, and Dreamcast will get me through everything I want them to.

You take a picture of a painting, just outside of a gift shop that sells high-resolution prints. You take your camera home, frame and print your picture of the painting. You invite friends over to your home to admire the print every once in a while, and you've made prints for a few friends too.

Seems like iChat on crack to me, not available on OS X, awful-looking chat window, incompatibility with any standard IM protocols.

Someone had to be smoking crack to pull off such a poor copy of iChat. Good idea, poorly executed. Apple did it better, despite the occasional permissions hiccup.
