  1. Why the PSP will suck.... on Former Nintendo Boss Talks GameCube, PSP · · Score: 1

It is disk based. I have a minidisc player(made by Sony!), and a GBA. Both I carry in my pockets. Which one lasted more than 2 weeks without any problems? My GBA. The Minidisc player has problems with dust in my pockets dirtying up the lens and the discs get dust ground into them, which scratches them. Optical is not the way to go for a handheld. They get dropped, put in pockets, and used by children. Needless to say, the idea for the PSP is better than the execution.

It is impossible to know, since the 9 million degree heat spreads at the speed of light, which obviously means that the sound lags behind. However, at 160 dB, sound will stop your heart and kill you. And we all know how much sound pressure a nuclear blast creates(WAAAYYY above 160 dB). So, If you do not get killed by the heat, the intense light, the radiation, look on the bright side, there's always sound.

You are right. Apple has been systematically dumping G3 processors in all of its products. First was weaning off the Powermacs, then the Powerbooks, then Apple buried the old iMac, and now, the iBook will have to give up at some point. The G3 does have its low power consumption and heat benefits, but it will have to go I think. Though there is some light at the end of the tunnel: The G3 is just as fast at non-Altivec optimized operations. This will mean that it is faster at rendering websites or word processing than a 12" PB with its 867 G4, assuming these aren't Altivec enhanced.

To use the method, you have to download the save file to your memory card via a modified USB cable. You can get the file from xboxhacker.net, but I do not know EXACLY how to get the concept to work. In addition, the linux is only a mini Linux, and not that functional. Try getting a mod chip.

  17. Actually on X-Box Hackers Trying to Blackmail Microsoft? · · Score: 1

I know exactly how they did it, I think. There was this one message board post I saw a long time ago. It talked about something extremely similar to the process named by the article. It is not simple. It requires a computer and some really technical steps.

    Heres What I remember:

    1. Open Xbox
    2. Find these pads on Xbox mobo.
    3. Solder them in a certain way.
    4. Use your computer to go this one IP
    5. Hook the Xbox HD cable to your mobo
    6. Go to this one IP, which will flash your BIOS
    7. Load up programs onto Xbox through CD RW's

6 and 7 are simplified because I don't remember what it said exactly. They were much longer and more technical than they are here. Basically, if you follow the steps, your Xbox's BIOS gets redone and basically nulls the need for a mod chip, since that is what a mod chip does. The technique does work, as many people who saw the post tried it and it worked, but is kinda hard, and only geeks will do it. MS has nothing to fear if they don't release a signed Linux.
