One thing that seems funny in all of this to me, someone that is going to crack your blackberry is going to legally buy the developer key? Have to see what turns up on astalavista....
I know I am probably the exception amongst most of you. We don't have an ATM card, we go down to the corner bank to get money out the old fashioned way. Everyone at the branch knows the wife and I and no one else could get money out without generating a lot of questions. There's a lot to be said for the good old days.
Man was I glad you added that last paragraph. I was on my way to the phone to make a child abuse complaint to child protective services in your area.....
Surely you aren't suggesting that there were some other "understandings" the MS and Novell came to during their recent business agreement that weren't announced, are you? That would almost be suggesting that the two companies aren't being completely above board in their business dealing...
Don't discourage this. I need the 4 lbs of lead from those monitors to line my room with. Soon the aliens in our government will not be able to read my thoughts and I will finally be free....
I guess I still think of hacking as the old definition that was not nefarious, rather than a cracker or cybercriminal. Now the mere suggestion that a hacker is not a criminal gets you labeled as a troll. Curious how far the PC police have taken over the Slashdot board.
I saw the answer that they make sure it is faster not slower, but so far 2.0 feels slower than 1.5 did. I also had one crash so far when it tried to load a plugin.
I am just glad I can go back to breathing. Ever since the big announcement came out, I have been holding my breath until Dvorak told us what to think about it.
So instead of the CDs coming in the mail, we will get an ad boy/girl coming to our door. Hopefully they are short enough to set my beer on their head, miss those coasters.
Even accepting that you are correct that they are talking about crackers, I have the feeling that most of the script kiddies will not make the list. I assume they are talking about the real deal type guys that make their own cracks and then the other guys try to imitate them. Many of whom may even fall under our common definition of hacker. Those people that will discover a neat hack and then inform the other party of the problem. If not, if it is the script kiddies, it will be a very long and meaningless list.
Your mixing them up some. When our kids were babies, we were told to lay them on their stomach so that they wouldn't aspirate their own vomit if they spit up during their sleep. Then suddenly they decided that doing that caused SIDS. It would be nice if they actually came up with a cause rather than just pulling theories out of their ass.
You must be kidding. When did you ever see a car in the landfill. They go to junkyards, which after salvaging what they can in parts, they are smashed and then taken to be recycled. Not sure about appliances, but every time I have had a new one delivered, they have taken the old one away with them. As much as most metal prices are now, if you throw something that has much metal in it away someone is likely to take it out of your trash and to the scrap yard.
But what about the children...

Using language like this, it makes it sound like a RICO case should be launched.
Perhaps we should return to calling them IBM PC clones...
Perhaps instead of jail they can just cane your laptop...

You two... so that is at least 2 votes for Alfred E. Neuman.

Hacking.... when did that become a crime....
That's why you should have an ISP that filters, then have filters on your box. Some of it still gets through but it is manageable.

Doesn't it say something about many will be fooled by the Beast? Just further evidence of who Bill really is... (just kidding, lighten up)

Thanks Rodney King- Why can't we all just get along....

I'm sure that M$ will be releasing the source code to Vista soon, showing this face of openness is a new corporate stance.
I saw on the TV that a survey showed dead people voting for Democrats 4 to 1. This may go a ways in evening that out....
Thanks, I finally understand. Those guys putting cameras into the women's stalls in bathrooms were only watching for illegal behavior...
Have you bought a car battery recently? You have to pay a deposit that you get back when you turn the old one in.
