  1. Re:Question on Air Guitar That Actually Plays! · · Score: 1

Well hopefully it can't. That is part of the reason geeks play air guitar, they have not musical ability at all. This will ruin it for all of them.

  3. Re:Blame the voters for this atrocity on Exception Expands Domestic Surveillance · · Score: 1

Unfortunately the American people get exactly what they want. Most of us on here are members of fringe groups that aren't substantial voting blocs, whether you are libertarian, the far left or the far right. So for the most part we are ignored. Whenever something bad happens in the country, the politicians fall all over themselves trying to "fix" the problem. So we end up with all sorts of extra (un)constitutional laws. Any jurist that actually felt that the Constitution should be read as written would be considered out on the fringe and could not get confirmed to the Supreme Court. So the laws get to stay on the books.

Unfortunately that is the way of most politicians these days. The need to constantly raise compaign funds has made most of them little more than paid whores. Most citizens are left with voting for "their" paid whore and against the other guy's.

I agree lets look at reality and history. The internet currently operates without any censorship at all. Anyone can say anything they want to. The United States does absolutely nothing to prevent you from posting whatever you would want that might be critical of them. THe internet is full of ideas hostile to the US and its people and culture. Even on Slashdot there is a steady stream of anti-US and anti-Bush comments. Much of it is even demonstrably false. Yet they do nothing to try to stop it.

I guess because I am so ignorant that I think the internet should allow complete and unfettered access to information. I don't believe that any country (including the United States or any other entity) should be allowed to censor what is available. The free market place of ideas should be in place. Sorry that the liberty and freedom is so threatening to you and those of your ilk.
