Ok lets talk some true facts on hdtv and the fcc.
First of all, cbs can't do anything to the fcc because the fcc will fine them into hell for stopping broadcast. Its a government mandate that they have to do it by a certain date. It also looks really bad for them.
Second, people saying the fcc is not on their side are off their rockers. The fcc just demanded that cable companies must activate the firewire slot on the digital cable box. Many companies weren't going to do this for the obvious reason youll be able to dump straight into your computer but now they have to.
Third, people need to stop saying no one has hdtv because plenty of people do. It's finally reached an affordable level. You can get a 27 inch hdtv for around 500 or 600 dollars. I know, I know, this might take away from buying that ubersweet new water cooling device that might get you that extra 2 frames in half life, but maybe itll be worth it.
fourth, on the issue of the government again and the cost of hdtv. The government has created a timeline where they have mandated that manufacturers have to produce certain size hdtvs by certain years as well as already have the decoders built it. Thats right even if you have a 15 inch hunk of junk its going to be hdtv compatible somewhere down the line.
So please for the sake of all man kind stop talking out of your collective asses.
How is his idea on theories breakthough?
Karl Popper defined a theory as such about 100 years ago. Are computer programmers just catching up to modern scientific philosophy? I doubt it. Sounds like typical book publisher hype.
that they dump this prototype to a rom file so that everyone can enjoy MM how it was truly meant to be enjoyed on nes. Or you could just play it on scummvm like a normal human.
Is it a plane ? Is it a bird ? NOOOOOOO !!!! It's a trojan !! Do you guys read www.theregister.co.uk ? (No I'm from Romania). How often do you read about problems in Linux ? How FAST are they fixed ? RedHat posts updates almost daily and most of them are security fixes. But Micro$oft.... NOOOOO.... their products are perfect. No flaws at all. None. Whatsoever. I wonder why do people call Outlook the best Virus Transport Protocol ever designed. BTW: Windows (aka dos) didn't get as bad as it is overnight -- it took over ten years of careful development. [for you MCSE/MCSD/MCHAMMER dude, this is a fortune cookie -- yeah, from the dreaded OS Linux).
OMG HE MADE FUN OF MICROSOFT AND TALKED ABOUT HOW GREAT LINUX IS! SOMEONE MOD THIS KID UP! Totally off topic and totally stupid.
Has anyone tried any of these movies with third party dvd players? Like one of the hacked ones that don't require a dongle on the xbox? It'd be interesting to see if they work then.
I also wonder if since layer breaks cause a problem for developers who wants to go over the standard 5.2
is that it's sort of like living in the 1950s and experiencing all of this new space stuff for the first time. We are lucky to be living in interesting times.
the definition of a molecule is "The smallest particle of a substance that retains the chemical and physical properties of the substance and is composed of two or more atoms."
Take one water molecule and it will be H2O What comes into play when multiple particles collide has nothign to do with anything
How do you expect them to learn linux when they can barely learn windows? I can just see it now. They go into #linuxhelp or whatever and ask for help on their xserver and everyone in there is like "Sorry I only use command line, so I have no idea" Imagine editing conf files or compiling software? Old people are just going to get annoyed.
We know that there aren't antimatter stars because we'd be seeing huge antimatter and matter phase out reactions. If an antistar hit a regular start the energy released would be amazingly huge. Thus we can safely 1580that this is not happening.
I don't know if I like the idea of the people who brough us superman 64 handing out grants. Call me crazy, but flying through rings is just not my thing. Let's just hope they don't try to export.
that means it was 20 years ago today that the first cartridge had to be blown in and shook around as not to give that flashing blue screen when you power on!
I have a few beefs with the book list that I will air here as I do not see a means to on their site.
- No button to submit corrections(I saw tons of mistakes)
- Peoples real names were listed as pseduonyms rather than having their fake names as nom de plume and then a separate section for real names.
- Books were listed by the year of their most recent printing rather than their original publishing.
- The above could have easily been acknowledged but they dont even have a section for this
- I saw things miscatogorized as novels that were just individual poems.
It's a good endeavor but I don't see how it beats going to amazon and just typing in the authors name.
It's constantly trying to trick me into using its proprietary format! "Saving in external file formats will result in a loss of data. Would you like to save as Open office" Their format isn't compatible with any other word processor so it's a pain in the butt because sometimes I mess up and do save it as that, but I guess that's my own fault
someone better alert epcot that their room of the future is a bit out of date. "LITTLE BOBBYS SHOE IS FLOATING IN SPACE! WHATEVER SHALL WE DO NARF NARF!" I've never gone on a ride there where it hasn't broken either.
I think it would be much more productive and fun to scan your butt and draw a face on it.
On a much more serious note, chess already can take upwards of 2 hours to play, especially if you're playing one of those super careful people. Playing it like this would have to be a weekend event.
It is an interesting technical feat though, but really provides no advancement for current technology. I sat here for 5 minutes trying to think how it might help further a current idea or help people with disabilities, but it doesn't -- at all.
The purpopse of new technology should be to do things quicker/cheaper. When technology becomes more advanced and provides less functionality, we might as well bundle it with windows.
Assuming that this idea spreads like sars(albeit a lot faster), a lot of kids are going to be without jobs. Under the assumption that there are 4000 theaters in the US alone. Employing a total of 30000 kids, probably another 20000 other people full time. That's 50000 out of a job. It's good for the consumer, but bad for people who work. It's kind of like the age old problem of replacing factory workers with robots. I'm sure it won't spread that fast as the mpaa is opposing it, but it's still something to think about.
people are up in arms over this because it's an ms blunder. It does nothing more than simply halt your browser. As many can testify, halted browsers happen with any of the many browser flavors available.
I heard someone suggest they hire better testers? How was anyone supposed to test for this. I know this is/. and trolling about MS is ok, but I mean come on, how could anyone see that coming.
The fact remains though that this crash isn't really that big of a deal. Sure it crashes IE, but it's not like most content webpages want their reader's browsers crashing when they reach the page. Who do we have to worry about? HTML enabled web boards? I have to worry about someone linking c:\con\con as an image everytime I click a link. You just go on with your life. If they are stupid enough to have html enabled then it's their problem, not MS's.
Robots that massage is the stupidest idea ever. Robots that massage are only one step away from robots that have sex with you. Wait a second.... this might not be a bad thing for the average/.er
will remember that when you signed on, they would bombard you with ads that you'd have to say no thanks to in order to ultimately reach the service. These werent from an outside source, they were directly from aol(big shock). Then when you got to your email, there was horse porn.
I hope this is like the flaw from freakazoid where if you type in the correct set of characters and hit delete while connected to the internet, you turn into a super hero. Ah to be Dexter Douglas *sigh*

so who do you think is going to be the first to jump at declaring it a hoax?
just imagine what we could do with a beowolf cluster of monkeys!
elizabethan english is modern english, not old english. If you are going to be snappy, why don't you get your facts straight, guy?

certainly that whole first kiss thing isn't going to come into play.
