Ya it always works great, except when it doesn't. I have one CentOS install that has 3 ethernet ports. I can guarantee every time it needs to be rebooted that they will be numbered differently and I'll have to go and update VMware to bridge the right ports.
It's the only one that does this, even the identical machine sitting beside it doesn't do this.
Nothing in Linux guarantees port numbers. Some things try, but none guarantee.
Perhaps this is an early release of the information and given the amount of time they have spent in researching the issue they don't believe anything was actually done, but a more thorough investigation is still needed.
They don't let those people in the country any more.
I wish I kept a copy of the questionnaire to stay in the US I had to fill out, some of those questions were just hilarious.

If they can get a linux system, they could get a BSD, the array of free virtualization options make it even easier. They choose to use libraries and frameworks that do not exist on other OS's. It is pretty much unportable by design.
Do it and you will be happier. So what if your own stuff is more powerful, it is yours and used for your things. Stop acting like a slave and use your own time and devices for yourself.
Companies don't audit code because they don't trust the developers. They audit code so their customers don't go on blind trust of the finished product. If an audit turned up you put something in the code you shouldn't you would be at the very least fired that moment, you would no longer be trusted to do the job you were hired for. They wouldn't laugh it off because, well hey, they didn't really trust you anyway.
Lots of positions in companies are positions of trust. If you do not trust the person in that position, why are they still there? Trust is very binary, you either trust them or you don't. Those you do trust, you trust until you no longer have cause too.
No one said you trust an admin because they said so, I said if you don't trust them, why are they still your admins. If you have to second guess every thing they do, if you have to validate every action and decision they may make over the course of their day, you are only hurting yourself by keeping that situation going.
Everyone treats everyone else like adults and every one acts like an adult? Honestly, if you don't trust your admins, why are they your admins?
Also, simple change management alleviates most of these problems. Even if it's just a log for what happened so that the next shift or your colleague tomorrow knows what you did today. Then again, I guess that is really back to acting like adults.
Many places don't want individual thinkers in all positions, they want 'team players,' where team player means someone who shuts up and does what they're told. The larger the company is, the fewer outspoken people they want.
The Mac App store seems to have less restrictions then the iOS store as the Mac is a different platform then the iOS. The App Store is meant to be a place to easily get a hold of many Mac Apps. The Mac is a full desktop, this isn't supposed to be some nefarious scheme to change that. Demos aren't allowed, Apple recommends devs continue to use their own site to distribute them. Apps that shit all over the file system aren't allowed. It must use XCode tools and installer (WoW won't be in the store) and what not. I believe in app purchases aren't allowed (i.e. Steam is probably not allowed). It doesn't seem as if Apple is interested in making this the only place to get Mac Apps, especially with the recommendation that devs still use their own sites to distribute trials, just an easy place to get many Mac tools and apps.
Never have. The curriculum is only updated when a new version of whatever office software they use. High School computer classes have only ever taught proficiency in specific applications and that hash't changed in the 20~30 years schools have had computers - if they even let the students touch them in the first place. This is further exasperated by the fact that it always seems to be 'taught' by the teacher who drew the short stick.
Only in the US is healthcare a privilege instead of a human right. That so many in a 'civilized' country are opposed to universal healthcare should make people wonder if the term 'civilized' is appropriate at all.
Ya that $5 a day they hand out is sure going to feed a family. The court used to compensate people for their lost income, but that was when $5 a day was a good compensation.
And before you really bitch and moan about people having to make a living, how I should have god knows how many weeks and months of money saved up, I can't serve on juries, I'm ineligible.

I bet he also thinks there are 4 Indiana Jones movies.
And yep, that's pretty much what the article says.

They should let the release date slide a few times, for old times sake.
This sounds more like a standards body getting sick of people and developers asking when HTML5 standardization would finally be finished.

You mean like Safari?

Like most new markets MS enters, 'the Cloud' was firmly established by the time MS got there.

There is more to 10.6.6 then just the App Store, not much more but there are various patches and security updates also included.
You think small developers were really getting a better deal running stores themselves?

MacWorld article on the App Store
I can't see why would you think that post sounded crazy.

How would you prove it was the Chinese government? Unlike nuclear war, you don't have to be a government to carry out a 'cyber attack.'
Where is the fun in just buying an iPad?
