I'm not the one who misspelled principal. The retarded bit for our spelling system is that we have homophones. Loose and Lose are not really homophones, but indeed it does show another aspect of the problems with our written language.
Thank you for once again showing how retarded our spelling system (or lack thereof) is. And yes, I am aware of the silly spelling reformation thing by Mark Twain which demonstrates how ridiculous that could be too.
And I do thank the modern industrial agriculture for it. Now, please cut me off another rib eye, and cook it in bacon fat. While you are at it, would you mind passing the Russet Burbank potato along with the butter and sour cream? I quaff down another "Bud" while I wait.
I forgot that some people have yards barely larger than their house. So for them, they may not be able to reasonably get wind or solar on their property.
Your numbers are a little off. A solar installation is more than just the panels. The batteries and power converters are likely to be just fine even after a hail storm. It is probably still more than the base $5000 for a normal roof, but certainly less than the $30000. Plus, some panels may survive. To address your point though, solar isn't for everyone. You might consider wind instead. Myself, I've been looking into a combination of both.
In Idaho and maybe other states, other issues also come into play. A gravel road does not get sampled which is good for the county because it means it won't be considered deficient. However, a gravel road also does not get state & federal monies (some exceptions apply). So, although they will be saving money, they won't be getting any for that road either.
The difference is that for BSE they were killing the cows and wasting the meat. With the pigs, they are still bringing the meet to the market. So, what I want is an inappropriately named bovine plague that will kill people (not cows) that drops the price of beef.
Yeah, I bought some spare ribs for $0.58/lb the other day, and boneless pork chops for $1.38/lb. I haven't seen these prices in a very long time. Bring on the swine flu. I don't suppose we can have a bovine plague?
Some of the Nevada desert has another interesting feature. Not only can you generally see the Milky Way, but from about 100 miles north of Vegas heading down US-93/SR-318, you can start to see the glow of Las Vegas. I find it amazing that there is so much light pollution that from the ground and over mountains from a hundred miles away, one can see the glow of a city.
Mr. Freckles needs a My Space page, and Okrut, and Face Book, and Yahoo! 360 accounts. Then Mr. Freckly Weckly will be known. It's finding the right audience, an 12 y.o.s is it!
1930's: Have you used a Television? In the form it's in, it is a gimmick. It's basically a tacked on feature to radio and has poor reception and picture. 1890's: Have you used a horseless carriage? In the form it's in, it is a gimmick. It's basically a tacked on feature to the carriage and makes a lot of noise and goes slow.
First generation technology tend to suck. Give it time and it will be less gimmicky and more practical. I think the Wiimote was a good addition to gaming interfaces. It isn't the only interface, and it likely never will be. However, as the technology (both hardware & software) mature, it will make some games very enjoyable that might not have been do-able or as fun otherwise.
Experts Exchange used to be good for something before they were a pay site. Because we spent years giving them answers, they have a great deal of useful information on their site. It's hard to blame Google for showing Experts-Exchange when asking a technical question.
As for AdSense, Google is a business and will show the results for the highest bidder. At least, we know which links are paid for. With respect to the link farms, retailers, and knockoff sites, Google could definitely do a better job. Microsoft will not likely be the one to do that.
I know when I was in kindergarten (back in the 70's), I was daydreaming when my bus stop came up. When the bus driver said we were at the last stop, I explained I had missed my stop. Fortunately, he had to drive past most of the bus stops on the way back to the school yard. When my bus stop came up, I pointed out which one it was, and was let off.
I'm curious why his daughter wouldn't have known she was on the wrong bus, and simply been driven back to the school where an administrator could call her parents. Once she knew she was "lost", she should have explained to the bus driver, who could then call into the school. The school should then call the parent(s) to let them know when they can pick her up from the campus.
I'm not seeing why this should be a big deal unless both his daughter and the administrators needs special assistance.
1) Less bugs!
2) The humidity is near 0.
3) The distance to my neighbor can be measured in Km.
4) Congestion is being stuck behind a combine.
5) Most names of towns can be pronounced by English speakers.
Well, if home automation is done right, a switch would still be available, and even if you needed a "remote", your smart phone would probably be it. Or, you could have a motion sensor set to turn on the light when you come in the door (combined with a script, the main controller unit could determine if you are coming or going).
Also, if you think home automation is only about light switches, you should look into it a bit deeper. I'm thinking of home automation to control not just the lights, but the heating and cooling, the yard watering (to include seasonal & soil adjustments), and home security.
Now if only we could get Alon for a reasonable cost to keep them damned grues out.

I have an account at rocketmail.com, but I never get my email by rockets. I'm disappointed now.

Why would they? That would dry up the revenue generated by the "sin".
You forgot to mention in "The Bad" column to bugs the size of sewer rats.
I think he is trying to give the racists and bigots a place where they can be "separate, but equal." Alaska is now the most likely place.
Sure there is; otherwise, assassinations would rise tremendously.

Large corporation with near monopoly power is bad for the consumer. Film at 11.

Is that because you torched it in anger after it "no va"?

Geocities probably died before Mr. Freckles was born.

Sorry, Rockstar Games isn't allowed to sell the accessories in the US that would make that game complete.

That's a very profitable TelCo and very wealthy students. Cost * Rooms * Students is a lot of money. Much more than Cost * Students or Cost * Rooms.
