  1. Re:Bogus on Will the Wii Work? · · Score: 1

I seriously think this is either a troll or guerrilla marketing, but I'll answer anyway.

Metroid Prime, just that, first party, no kids, just a cool bounty hunter with loads of guns, a beatifull alien landscape. I have to agree about the last Zelda, i borrowed it from a friend and I didn't like it because of the cartoonish graphics, but the new Zelda has changed that big way. Another one comes to mind, F-Zero. Do I have to continue?

Nintendo has franchises with kid graphics (compare SEGA Project Rub with WarioWare on the DS) and I would . Yes, Mario is for kids, at least the graphics, I enjoy it anyway, but it has cute plain color kiddy graphics. They have other franchises not so kiddy-oriented, and I love them.

  2. Wii on Consumer Electronics Causing 'Death of Childhood'? · · Score: 1

not only wii, DDR, Guitar-Hero, Singstar, etc. There is a market for new ways to interact with a game. Bongos in the NGC are fun, much more for kids, IMHO, the problem is not the electronics, the fear of the parents i believe is far worse.

  3. Re:Some light on Spain Adds 'Copyright Tax' to Blank Media · · Score: 2, Interesting

The tax is the same per blank media, no matter what use you intend to put them to. This tax was thought in the eighties to protect authors form cassette copies, and it made sense at the moment, it was legal to copy music if you didn't profit from it. Then came the cd writers and copied music had the same quality than the original, and SGAE started to panic. Now with the P2P technologies the situation is plain absurd, our law gives us the right to copy music not only for private use, but for other, provided you don't broadcast it and you don't make profit, in exchange SGAE receives this tax to compensate for the loses, BUT they collect the tax and use it to fund mischiving advertising campaigns telling that P2P is a crime.

The news are in part good - tax will be proportional to the price of the media, not to the capacity as was until now - and bad, because now every media will be charged, from the mp3 players to the SD of your camera. The dvds and the cds will remain charged, i don't know if the tax will lower for them now. If some of you is going to travel to Spain, remember to buy your media in advance :)

By the way, this so called tax, isn't, since it's collected by a private organization from other companies, by law. And it's collected in the name of the associates of this organization, in theory every Spanish author, and is distributed between them in obscure ways. For example, if i borrow from a friend the last CD from U2 and copy it for my personal use, it's legal since in the cd i bought i payed the tax, but this tax money won't reach Bono since he is not a member of the SGAE, probably this money will end funding campaings or in the pocket of the best-selling spanish author in the moment. Anyone thinks this makes any sense?

You don't tell a friend you can't go out for playing, you tell him that you have other plans with other friends, maybe this friends live across half Europe and instead of having some beers and pick up some chicks it's something more on the axe some orcs and level up side, what's the difference?

Yes, there is more space, but, as Will Wright has said before, as the graphics become more impressive, the number of artists involved in each title becomes larger, and now games have 2-3 years of developing and costs millions, you think they are going to hire extra artists to fill a blue-ray?

when CD-ROM hit the market, games usually expanded several disquettes, same thing with the dvd and the cd-roms... hoy many games do you know that expand more than one DVD?

I don't like ads in a page, nor in a magazine, nor on tv. This is why I stopped watching tv, i switch to CD when they put one on the radio and yes, i can't stand ads in a magazine i payed for.

It's not only that I like to choose what to buy and when to buy it, the thing is that when I see an ad, I think the magazine is working for them, also the TV, and the radio, not for the listener, reader, etc.

I see the point in google ads, not intrusive and related to the thing, but also I like that google adapts his ads to the content, not the other way around.

This part I don't understand. Are you saying you don't believe the Jews were in Egypt? Secular history books and archeology can prove that one.

No they don't, there are some proofs of some troubles with some new tribes coming to the area about the 1200BC, but there is no proof of the Exodus, what, by the way, is nothing strange, since Egyptians are known to register only victories, and probably the Jews were a small group of people when they left Egypt.

I must say I agree with you that slavery is not the worst that can be done to a beaten foe, death being the first I can think off. That said, I fear there is many people that believes and follows the Bible without reading the huge cultural difference between the Old and New Testament, and to put it clear, puting enemies to death and enslaving their families should not be moral to people nowadays.
