Hah! Those sample ads won't even play, and I'm on windows, using IE and have Windows Media Player installed. The problem is that video would be still downloaded, but won't play, but all other formats won't even download, popup or do whatever they are supposed to do. My firewall(with ad filter) logs show that 6 popups have been blocked in only 30 seconds, and one active-x control, so I think that blocking active-x for specific sites should disable this kind of ads.
Yes, it would be just at the end of the 13th level: send the elevator #2 one floor up, jump in the shaft, breake the metal grill to your right and crawl inside, thats it- loading...
>...would show an image instead of me being able to see my "generously-proportioned" neighbour empty his garbage in the nude. That would be cool, unless it is an image of the goatse man!
IMHO the logo should look something like this: Warriors Of The World, but with the guy in the front substituted with Beastie, and everybody else with penguins;-)
Strange. The article mentioned pasting the image from another program as well as saving it with a different version PS. I tried both on a sample $20 note, and couldn't open it.
Digital artist Kiera Wooley circumvented the restrictions simply by cutting and pasting a bank-note image from another graphics utility into Photoshop
If MS Paint is a graphics utility, then this doesn't work, at least for me.
for the second method, well it worked 50%. you had to save it.PSD, jpg was still detected, unless saved at minimum quality.
Maybe Playboy is also searching for a Master..hmmm.. to watch pr0n all day and get paid for that?

Icecast 2.0 Released

After years in development and years in alpha testing, The icecast development team has released version 2.0.0 of its streaming media server. Icecast2 supports Ogg Vorbis and MP3 streaming and has many features and functions you would expect from a world class streaming media server.
Yeah but, I've got myself an older Teac, 540E. It is slower (40x) but not as noisy and hot, and also reads many cds other drives fail. When I need a DVD-ROM, I'll just buy one. maybe even a recorder.
WOW! If I had such rules/teachers at my school, I'd be screwed! I also used net send, with a simple script that would send it to all computers, or one computer but many times;). What I noticed was that it would interrupt most games, including Starcraft, and some computers had problems switching video modes back to fullscreen, so they had to restart. This was EVIL, and maybe this is what happend to some teachers, so they were really pissed. just a thought.
Why is archive.org arichived:) so many times on the 18 Sept 2001? There are actually more - "Note some duplicates are not shown. See all." then there are about 7500 entries, mostly in the same year. I opend about 10 of them and they seem to be the same.
If by adaptive AI in this case means that the performance of your opponents depends on how well you are doing, than NFS:Underground is an excellent example of this. Do a few 360s in one lap, pretend you are playing Carmageddon, or just crash somewhere. After this you would be 13sec behind and and next lap you are just two seconds behind the leader(no major mistakes). On the other hand drie like mad, full speed, good turns and no serious mistakes, but the opponent just flies past two turns before finish. This is really annoying, and looks like not only for me, but for lots of other people too. Anyway, a clear example of adaptive difficulty in games would be Unreal Tournament. It can be turned on/off, and has an easy to test effect.
>...knowing that he has every Linux user on the planet behind him
Not trying to troll, but I think that even if a small % of Windows users would support SCO, it would be still much more ppl than all Linux users combined.
There was a list of different European game developers(not all of them, of course) and short reviews of their games in one of the last issue of a game mag. Here are some of them:
Bulgaria
Haemimont Games: Tzar, Celtic Kings
Romania
AMC Creations: No Name War
Czech Republic (more listed because this was in a Czech magazine) ALTAR interactice: Fish Fillets, original War, UFO: Aftermath
IMO throwing out punctuation isn't a problem. But there is something I think would be much harder to filter out but still possible to understand. You probably now the joke which says its proven that humans can understand written words even if the letter order is different, but the first and last one is correct. I can't find the original text right now, so here is an example: ...mekas it naelry ispomislbe to bcolk sapm mseaesgs by fletirnig kyrwdoes. Ok this isn't the best example, but still I hope it illustrates the method.
And how am I supposed to play games on my PII box? UT, max payne, and even more receng games are playable under win98, but when I boot to XP (I've got enough ram), those games are unplayable.

I would, but the lag makes playing UT impossible. Well maybe at least some kind of strategy, like starcraft or something.

There is Skynet in Czech Republic as well, a friend of mine gets his DSL service from them.

Because there are some legal issues with copyright material on those sites.

another example is Pets Overniht and Love Media from GTA3, as well some more I can't recall.
Have you tried games? I am also thinking about such a hotfix, but want to be sure I can still run my games ;)

Studios and the whole movie industry also pays taxes... less piracy -> more taxes collected.
