    The bigger issue isn't the cluttering of /. , but the cluttering of higher education. What skill is this teaching? How will it help prepare students for the work place? I do not see these answers; I hope they have been thought about.

    whew, glad they took action, such mis-uses could have gotten out of hand.

    "While it exposes an interesting deficiency in the general knowledge of educators about browser technology," Not only browser technology, but all computer technology. My wife is a teacher and in College (at a well respected University) she took "Technology for Teachers," the only computer class required for education majors, this class consisted of learning how to open MS office products. The did not go into any detail other than changing fonts and saving. It's unfortunate but most of her colleagues including the computer teacher have to ask my wife for help.

    Will anyone ever need more than 128kb? If we stopped development because of "What if's" we would never advance. Fortunatly Google fixed the mistake and continued on improving thier product.

    This is the reason I have not switched to Linux. When two years ago, when i was in college, I installed debian on my laptop. I had everything work except for sound. Our CS dept. had a linux lab and had just installed debian. I went to the student admin for help. instead of reciving help I was told i had a PEBKAC error and he wouldn't help me.

    I have switched to listening to NPR on the radio as have alot of people. The ads and DJ's on other stations always seem to be yelling as if somting important were happening. On NPR that does not happen. I believe this is one of the major reasons why NPR has seen so much growth in ratings

    Another good solution (for film based camera's) tie a piece of radio active material around your neck. that should blur the film.

    "Going to a four-year college and getting a degree really isnt all that important anymore. Yeah, you get a job, yeah you get money, and yeah you have fun but honestly the pay off in the end really isnt all that worth it." I believe i heard a statistic on NPR a few months back (please correct me if i'm wrong) that on average people who go to college end up making 1 million dollars more over thier life time than those who do not go to college. sure there are a few exception. http://www.forbes.com/2003/07/28/cx_dd_0728mondaym atch.html but those people had a clear goal. most who drop out of highschool don't have a clear gaol
