Why not just install iOS on an intel based system if you hate win10 so much? It's much cheaper than buying overpriced apple hardward and you can upgrade anything you desire. There are a few methods but Unibeast works like a charm for legit purchased copies of iOS. All you need is an external HD and internet connection.
I am desperately waiting to get into EQ Next beta. I still occasionally play EQ classic on an emulated server (project99). Wildstar beta has been eating up most of my time lately, though. The game is great fun so far minus some minor class balancing issues which isnt out of the ordinary for a RPG.
From the Wildstar wiki:
"WildStar development started in 2005, after 17 former members of Blizzard Entertainment founded Carbine Studios. At the time, the seventeen former members of Blizzard Entertainment had a desire to "do anything but WoW","
Forgive me, IANAPG but didnt Mars cease to be geologically active long ago. Which is why we see no active volcanoes and very little atmosphere (no shielding from solar winds). Also, if earth is the only planet with active tectonics why is Venus literally covered with active volcanoes and an atmosphere thousands of times denser than earth?
You simply cannot go wrong with Debian, openbox WM, and a lightweight file manager like thunar. Fast, easy to use, access to the entire Debian repository for software, and great user support.
I also highly recommend Crunchbang (a lightweight Debian based distro). No need to even install Crunchbang to learn the OS...just boot off the live CD and tinker away.
"but the USA didn't seem to do too hot without one before the Great Depression"
-The Federal Reserve was created December 23, 1913.
-The Great Depression lasted from Oct. 24, 1929 until about 1940.
So how exactly did the Fed save us again? You do realize many people believe that the Fed actually created the Depression to consolidate power for themselves right?
Looks like I spoke too soon. Escape velocity does decrease with altitude. At sufficient heights it can even approach zero.
*punches himself in the balls*
There, that'll learn me.
You need to reach escape velocity which is about mach 34 (6.96 miles per second). In other words, same power as the space shuttle minus 18.9 miles of fuel in the gas tank.
Um, no. We belong to the same genus not species. Assuming that is what you meant, what exactly are the concerns of cloning a human?
Most arguments I hear typically involve a religious appeal and we all know how well science and religion mix. Aside from that, I am not so sure any religion would be quick to embrace a living Neanderthal.
The best argument I could think of against cloning a Neanderthal would be the concerns I have for it's health and happiness. We know very little of the culture, diet, needs, or temperament of Neanderthals. On the other hand, we do know what a good diet consists of and what generally makes humans happy. Our cultures are rather well studied too. A cloned human living a healthy and happy life doesn't seem far fetched to me. I am not so sure about the Neanderthal.
None of this means I would rush out and clone humans or Neanderthals but I will say the concerns are not the same.
playing games like Star Control 2, Total Annihilation, Tribes 1 & 2, and Quake 2 & 3. I am not sure if I could survive another round.
The fan community has redone SC2 and released it as Ur-Quan Masters - http://sc2.sourceforge.net/ (great remake btw). Total Anni has been remade as Spring - http://spring.clan-sy.com/ but I still find the original modded with TAMutation more fun.
The gaming community has changed considerably though. Gaming is bigger than it ever has been and a massive casual gamer crowd has entered the market. Anything that mainstream is bound to have it's share of mediocrity. There are still great titles out there. You just have to wade through more crap to find them.
I remember last time Sprint/Level3/AOL were scrapping with Cogent. I was working for a very large online trading company and our stock quotes were provided by a company using Cogent. Needless to say, AOL users who traded on our software were stuck without quotes because of this. Our trade desk was flooded with calls from some very angry people. We did our best to place orders but it was still quite a shitstorm.
The worse part was trying to explain to a laymen what exactly was happening. Now we have a backup feed with a company using Level3 as well as our main feed on Cogent. Hard lesson learned I suppose.
This plugin is based the SwitchProxy Tool plugin. Also, from the release notes:
- Find an awesome source for Chinese proxy servers, and keep the list updated.
It would be far less cost effective to upgrade Hubble than to build the LSST. Shuttle launches cost a TON of money not to mention you are risking astronauts lives to try and upgrade something we CAN build better on Earth. Hubble has had optical problems in the past and the 2 flights to repair it cost about one billion dollars. Imagine what a complete rebuild would require.
"Making the most advanced telescope, ON THE GROUND, seems like an oxymoron to me."
And the reason it is considered such an advanced telescope:

I completely agree. Trying to set the precedent of a myspace TOS violation equating fraud or worse is completely idiotic and the wrong way to go in this case. It is like shooting a person's then having the state pursue you for improperly discharging a firearm instead of attempted murder.
On the other hand I think it would be very easy to pin child abuse and harassment on Lori.
If Lori Drew had used a voice changer and a prepay cellphone I honestly believe all of America would be out to lynch her by now. What makes the internet so different?
Lori mounted a systematic and cruel attack to inflict emotional harm on a minor over a period of months. This goes far beyond name calling or a prank. It was deliberate and it was designed to harm. The tools used to harass have little to do with the case in my opinion.
Is Lori is responsible for the child's death? Perhaps, but how do you determine the weight of her contribution? I for one have no idea and personally believe no one can say that with any certainty.
What seems rather clear to me is an act of child abuse, harassment, and fraud.
While very neat, if we did tap geothermal resources nationwide to get up to supplying 25% of our electrical needs within a few decades, we'd still be behind Iceland. According to Wikipedia, Iceland generates 26.5 of its electricity from geothermal power. Strange to think that a place called Iceland has so much available heat for power generation.
Going a bit astray, has anyone seen the episode of Science Channel's "Eco-Tech" featuring the rooftop windmills designed by Aerotecture? Pretty cool.
26% of Iceland's electrical needs is a tiny number compared to 25% of America's needs. Saying we would still be behind Iceland seems inappropriate if you take into consideration the modest 300k population of Iceland probably consumes less electricity than Baton Rouge, LA.
certain words can also make you "think differently". It seems obvious to me the word "slashdot" fosters in test subjects a need to spout the lamest jokes humanly possible.
Q. How many MS logo "jokes" did we need in response to this article?
A. I like turtles
Retards...
From my understanding the largest contributing factor to life expectancy has little to do with us actually living longer. It has more to do with a MUCH lower death rate amoung infants and children and a higher success rate in deliveries. The "average" life span has increased because we no longer have to factor in a 66% (number pulled from my ass) death rate among infants and toddlers. Being born premature in the 1800s was a sure death sentence...not so much today. We dont really live that much longer than our ancestors...we just have fewer deaths among our children so the AVERAGE increases.
If someone is in the way, TKing, etc they will eventually get kicked as well. That is FAR more tolerable than someone screaming over a mic at his team on a public server though.
Your standards are far too high and/or you are far too worried about your score. Play nice and have fun. If you dont like the server just move on.
"It sounds like you're the kind of player who ruins multiplayer games for shits and giggles."...and from the sound of it I bet you are a very angry driver, you talk about your co-workers behind their backs, and typically set yourself above the rest of humanity.
Exactly what I was thinking.
In EP2 we learn about the Borealis - an ice-breaker vessel belonging to rival corporation of Black Mesa, Aperture Science. The Borealis supposedly contains some insane technology that A.P. was developing. I am guessing the portal gun or some similar device is precisely what they are refering to since the combine's portal was closed in EP2 and now they are effectively cut off from their main forces.
Just a wild guess though....
Oh btw, some of you might enjoy this little piece of viral marketing...

Does this plugin actually proxy your web browsing through a Chinese host? Or does it just randomly mess with your requests?
Kind of reminds me of apt-gentoo.

read this as' "Cancer-Fighting Bear"? I was seriously concerned there for a moment.

I have also seen some people use modified telescope filters (Calcium K-line).
