    When the idea is always - how do I fill my next alternate-fuel powered SUV, the US will never have proper solutions. Compact Electric cars are a viable alternative. If we can keep those Damn SUVs and light trucks off some of the inner roads for even a period of time, people would feel safe to drive around in these cars. But that idea would quickly get political and shot down. The reason for the high price is $ valuation.

    for that problem, then anti-virus/spyware companies would be out of business. Everytime you fix it, there is another way to break it. So change you paradigm. Use a more secure OS.

    Better yet - secure you base os fully and then run your applications in a VM. All my download activities are in a Virtual PC session that does all that is mentioned around here. Nothing is ever loaded in the Base os.

    So China doesnt have free speech. So what ? Why do you always have to enforce your sense of freedom on everything. Try living in an environment with a diverse population with different opinion on what freedom, speech and religion means. Try living in a country with more class than rich, suburbanites, ghettos and rednecks.
    It is this narrow vision that make you opinionate about 640K limits in life !

    Know that your freedom is also under a gun. Usually you see only the butt end of it but it can quickly turn around thanks to itchy finger holding the trigger.

    Got no mod points dude, but yours is definitely informative and an interesting post. All the idiots who rave about the rail road tracks and modernization that the british brought about to India should read indian economics prior to the european invasions. Heck the economy thrived even during the mughal rule. Thanks for making India a heroin bastion of yester years plundering the gold fields and destroying any semblance of international trade that india was well known for.

    In other news - In India it is being asserted that India's intake of soda operations from Coke/Pepsi is taking jobs and lowering wages for Indian citizens. It appears that in all countries, not just India, the case that Coke/Pepsi are lowering wages for Soda operations workers is being made. Would workers in the developing world be better off without globalization that favors established MNCs or is there an overall benefit for the industry with large scale operations going to the developing world and thus making the industry larger?"

    That happened to me. I bought a thinkpad and found out that it was a knock of from some chinese company - Lenovo or somethting.

    Have you ever heard of the term Joint family. Most folks live with parents or relatives in India - argue to death but thats how the majority lives. So none of the arguments related to food or fuel pars in comparison.
      Macro-economic conditions vary vastly between all asian and western nations. You would be surprised how much the average indian manages to save money on any amount of salary and the debt that a westerner holds on any amount of salary !!
