    Numbers 3,4 and 10 are Korean. Although I'e never heard of number 10 before...heh, look at that: msn korea is number 47. That's odd, considering that South Korea is probably 95% Windows based.

    If you think there aren't a lot of people in the Congo, (pop.56,625,039-source CIA) which is right in the middle of that big black spot in Africa; well then, I gues I have no response for ya.

    I know that the North Korean governemnt is fucked up. I know they don't have the power facilities. The communist remark in my original post was directed at the parent. I also know that there are lots of other places in the world with many people where there aren't the proper power facilities.

    In Seoul, the lighting in neighbourhoods is sporadic. Some places are blinding, and some places are dark. The lighting in the small towns is not all night. They still use almost all white though, no sodium here.

    Google runs a pretty big server farm yes, it's true. I'm sure grid computing helps them immensely. I guess my point was, this won't make a public impact on Joe Schmoe.

    Also I was serious, how will this affect network security?

    I too have always just held the mouse button down a little longer on the old hockey puck. Brings up the same sort of menu as right-button on windows. I was always confused when Windows fanboys (why are Windows fanatics called fanboys and mac fanatics called zealots?) said "One button mice suck, you can't do anything with them".

    OTOH, learning to use 2 buttons on my mouse took me about..oh I dunno, 10 seconds? Both systems work well, I woud agree that in a space limited environment like this "Gummi", the Mac system seems to be better suited.

    Any bets on Sony coming up with a proprietary system (cough memory stick cough)?

    They are making the change uninformed about the consequences. When they see something on the TV and it's all glammed up by Hollywood production teams, it's natural to want to imitate that. What they don't understand are the ramifications behind the actions. It's like here in South Korea. Kids eat Mcdonald's and all that crap. Sure it tastes good or whatever, but they don't really know how bad that shit is for them. So now they're seeing childhood obesity here for the first time. What the Bhutanese have been exposed to is the fake surface, under which is a barrel of nasty worms.

    yes I think d'n'b runs up about 160-180 nowadays, non? I don't really hear a lot of turntablism (in terms of scratching) when I listen to drum'n'bass though (except for in Hellfish and Producer's amazing track -"Turntable Savage", but that's a lot of DSP fuckery). But that might just be my shite ears. :)

    While I agree with the gist of your comments (ie. a turntablist is a musician), I quibble with the "far faster beat than you'll find in any other form of music" statement. Turntablists generally tend to work in the hip-hop genre, and most hip-hop tends to be about 70-90 BPM, which is nowhere near as fast as death/dark/speed metal or some jazz tracks. Songs to improvise to, such as "Giant Steps" (Coltrane) and "Blues Etude" (Oscar Peterson) are pretty damn quick. Of course there are more, those two are ones that I happen to think of. Death/Dark/Speed metal all use fast fast tempos and the musicians generally have the ability to improvise solos (if they're any good).

    Again, not to disagree with you, just to nitpick and clarify.
