Commit messages are metadata and you can put whatever you want in there. But if you are looking for something more structured: git notes. Probably the most important metadata that git saves though are merge commits. It is extremely useful to know the development history of a merged branch.
Most of the other things you list are merely different design decisions.
it isn't clear that a home would have the bandwidth to support a meaningful cloud cluster
Could be the kick in the pants that this country needs to actually deploy the high bandwidth data connections that, you know, every other first world country already has.
I am continuously teased by UTOPIA a fiber to the premises network here in Utah with speeds ranging up to 100 Mbps, but it is only available in smaller municipalities that weren't successfully lobbied by Comcast and Qwest pointing out how "bad of an idea" it was.
I think you mean Dragon Warrior, not Dragon Quest. But anyway, I consider myself a PC gamer through and through (haven't owned a console since the SNES), but I was playing console games long before PC games. Probably because I remember pinching pennies and doing extra chores as a kid to save up for an NES which must have cost ~$120 whereas our family's first computer cost at least $2000, was bought years after I had owned that NES (it was a 386), and was initially reserved for my father's "serious work", not games.
So, there's a bit of nostalgia here. I bet I am not the only PC gamer in this situation either. And these games cost me less than half the price of lunch..
I would really like to see more PC games that support this. I regularly get together with a friend who doesn't do much gaming on his own (due to a lack of adequate hardware) to play some co-op on my PC. The selection of PC games that support this is pretty slim but there are a few good titles such as Shadowgrounds (and its sequel), Magicka, Trine, and a couple more.
I hate to complain about what is out there, but most of these games are really hard to play with a gamepad. Maybe I am just too used to a keyboard and mouse, but multiple keyboard/mouse support (which SDL has had for some time) would be nice. Well, now that the Shadowgrounds source is available, maybe we will eventually see it for that.
XNA is decent if you haven't ever used any other middleware or aren't capable of writing the equivalent routines yourself. I was forced to use it in a CS class and then also for one project at work (not a game, long story). In some ways it makes up for lack of decent managed DirectX support.
However.. If you are an "indie developer" today, you are seriously shooting yourself in the foot developing with a MS-only language and middleware. The games from the TFA would be quite portable to mobile devices such as Android and iOS but that isn't going to happen without a complete rewrite. Not to mention other platforms such as OS X, Linux, Playstation, Nintendo.
Agreed. I live in Salt Lake City and the snow generally stays on natural surfaces most of the winter while usually melting off things like roads, sidewalks, and roofs pretty quickly after snowfall. This is even more apparent in late spring when snow only accumulates on the natural surfaces and just immediately melts on sidewalks and streets.
It's because of careless whales that we had to hunt them nearly to extinction. If they had been more thoughtful, we could have avoided the whole dreadful affair altogether!
Military recruitment is picking up due to a bad economy, despite military objectives not changing. This after the military was desperate for recruits between '01 and '08. The rifle range overseas is two-way. It takes more than violent media for someone to volunteer to possibly go there.
We're still working on the grammar. Thanks for asking.

If you aren't merging, then you are doing it wrong. By the way, I hear that branching in SVN is extremely cheap!
The firing squad is more more likely. More appropriate as well.
Your Microsoft Datafurnace will come with a selection of botnets pre-installed at no extra charge!
Just paint your roof white.

If playing Unreal isn't an Epic experience, then you have probably bought the wrong thing.
Schlecht gemacht, Hauptmann Döspaddel.
First off, it's not exactly concealed and secondly, I don't use Windows.
Haha.. Nice. Alas, mod points! Why do you fail me now of all times?!
And each pointless, stupid death is half the fun. :)
Or just run Plan 9 with whatever *nix GUI floats your boat: http://swtch.com/plan9port/
IMHO, the coolest Plan 9 stuff is not graphical anyway.

Yeah, you tell him. He sure sucks at English!
Who needs security through obscurity, when you can have security through committee!

Fixed that for you.
Only Norwegians burn down churches in Norway. Makes good album covers.
You only get one take per cylinder. So maybe they were just shooting for "good enough".
I knew forcing everyone to upgrade from Firefox 4 to Firefox 5 was a bad idea. This lawyer is obviously an innocent victim!
