Volume, not quality is what ZTE is known for. They move massive amounts of cheap products all over the world. It funds their R&D while gaining market share. It's the same tactic that LG used prior to making high-end products. In China, cheap sells. Especially when that's what most the Chinese can afford.
With a standard HDD, the car's speed is slower. But most importantly, it takes time to accelerate and decelerate (the actuator arm). With an SSD, the car can accelerate instantly to 4x + times the speed limit and stop instantly as well as though you had some inertial damping field in effect. Whatever, it's FAST!
FYI, communism hasn't died insomuch that it's on the waning influence. Given the massive amounts of debt in the US and Europe, disparity in wealth, lack of political leadership, and progressive liberal/socialistic trajectory path we've been on; the environment couldn't be more ripe for Communism to take hold and conquer the West from within. The tyranny will be self-inflicted much as it always is in a revolution. Once that happens, kiss NASA goodbye and perhaps SpaceX as well. BRIC nations will be taking over space exploration. The West BTW is in within one generation of all this happening.
Handbrake transcodes video as a multi-threaded application. I have yet to try it, but if I re-encoded the same video multiple times from the same source, would I get a different file size based on an MD5 or SHA1 checksum?
Apple already tapped out the Chinese market that was in it for the social image and prestige. Besides, the Chinese iOS store sucks. Badly! Try it some time, it's not a pretty site to see just how limited the market options are and poor quality of apps.
As for Samsung, they're lucky to have lasted this long. ZTE will mop the floor with both Apple and Samsung, combined. ZTE will be for China what LG is for S. Korea.
Helicopter hog hunting is perfectly legal in Texas. Wild hog populations have gotten extremely out of control. Killing them is not just for sport, it's a form of pest control. Drone hog hunting would be quite interesting too, but I'm not sure if unmanned killing is legal or not.
Because Linux sucks balls for business that need a real AD forest, GPOs, and full Microsoft OS and app integration. About the only think Linux is good for in a Microsoft environment is LAMP boxes virtualized in either ESXi or Hyper-V. That, or as an appliance OS platform such as Dell KACE deployment server or phone system voicemail server.
Exactly! But being Windows Backup is part of the OS, you can't just upgrade the app without the OS.
BTW, this just happened recently when I rolled out a Windows SBS 2011 box not too long ago. And I've seen this issue on a Windows 2008 R2 as well after a previous IT group jacked with the VSS writers and tried all sorts of backup programs that failed. Duh, it's the 4k sectors not being supported by Windows VSS properly! The external drives also didn't support 512e. Actually, I was a bit surprised by that last part as I could not format in NTFS specifically stating 512. WTF?!
Below is a copy of the FSUTIL readout of the drive in question. (edited due slashdot junk filter)
C:\Windows\system32>FSUTIL FSINFO NTFSINFO G: NTFS Volume Serial Number : Version : 3.1 Bytes Per Sector : 4096 Bytes Per Cluster : 4096 Bytes Per FileRecord Segment:4096
DINKS (Dual Income No Kids) will do that to home values. The GLBT is a close community that places safety and social interaction at the top of their list. They also have more money to spend on housing bidding wars. So ya, 'The Stranger' is good advise. We see the same phenomena happening in Houston as well.
Don't be such a coward AC. I *refuse* to live in a black neighborhood. It's a cultural thing! Nothing to do with race. I will not raise my son in a poor black neighborhood and be exposed to cultural influences of children without fathers. I will not let this corrupt culture of ghetto hold back my son's potential in life. There's not a single person on Slashdot that can argue otherwise (try if you can if just for entertainment). Truth is truth!
Now Asian and Indian communities, they can be my neighbors. Even if I can't understand their language. I've see how the well educated raise their children. It's safe and reassuring. Again, purely culture.
Unless you're running Windows 8 or Server 2012, Windows Backup on Windows 7 and below is functionally obsolete due to the new 3TB + drives now in 4k sector Advanced Format technology. As long as you can still find working 2TB drives and you don't have that much data to backup, you'll be fine with Windows Backup. Otherwise, upgrade the OS or use ArcServeD2D which I know works well (and expensive too).
TimeMachine will backup a running VM. It just has to backup the entire VM each time whereas with the OSX environment, only the delta changes transfer after your original full backup. To address the underlaying performance issue however, just replace the internal with an SSD. It's that bloody simple of a solution. I can run my VMs, the rest of my Mac applications and run TimeMachine all at the same time. Previously I couldn't do this with a standard HDD due to a saturation in disk I/O (hung with a spinning rainbow wheel mouse cursor) .
John Culberson (Republican with TeaParty)- Texas 7th district - had this to say about why he voted against the Amash amendment but instead voted for the Pompeo amendment.
voted for the Pompeo (Nugent) Amendment instead of the Amash Amendment because it protects the privacy of American citizens. The Pompeo (Nugent) Amendment prohibits the NSA from targeting U.S. persons and protects the content of our phone calls from the NSA. Specifically, the Pompeo (Nugent) Amendment prohibits the NSA from listening to phone calls of American citizens without a court ordered search warrant. It protects our privacy and protects our Constitutional rights without destroying the NSA’s ability to track terrorists, as I believe the Amash Amendment would have done. The consequence of the Amash Amendment would be to prevent the collection and analysis of ALL bulk data in America — not just the data of American citizens. This would protect the data of terrorists who are operating sleeper cells in this country and make us vulnerable to future terrorist attacks. The Amash amendment would do nothing to reform the NSA surveillance program and would do nothing to ensure that the privacy of American citizens is protected. The NSA has successfully stopped several domestic terrorist attacks, and we need to continue tracking and stopping terrorists while at the same time protecting the privacy and Constitutional rights of American citizens.
Well, I needed a new laptop ASAP. I was trying to hold out with a wait-and-see approach after the last Apple release announcements. If it's going to happen, a non-Retina Haswell MBP won't be released until mid to late fall. So far, rumor has it that Haswell will be Retina only with an ultimate goal of making everything Air.
After seeing the last teardowns of the newer units and Mac Pro, Apple sure is hellbent making these units non-upgradeable as possible. Actually, it's a savings in manufacturing and the high turnover in user life of these units that's the driving factor here. It's like cellphones. You don't repair them (not supposed to anyways), you replace them! That's where the industry is headed with computers more or less.
Clinton. The same guy that set forth policies that caused the housing bubble? The same guy that had nothing to do with the tech bubble? The same guy that didn't take Islamic terrorism seriously? Now Bush comes into office left with a giant clusterfuck post 911. His tax breaks helped, but only to be set back again by his big spending. Nullified any traction gained. Obama however, he took a bad situation and made it worst! 6 Trillion of debt under his presidency ALONE! The absolute worst commander in chief to have in this time. Of all the possible POTUS choices to choose from, him and his party of corrupt crony capitalism (they project that view on the republicans in case you didn't know), he's the worst! Actually, more so the Democratic party than anything else. However, I would rather have lived with Dennis Kucinich. At least the damage would have been a lot less long-term despite his foreign policy naïvety.
May you suffer in the misery you brought the rest of America. I hope you're taxed to oblivion to pay for all this debt. I know I am. The middle class is paying more than the poor and rich; by design. The middle class votes Republican of course. Him and his party are trying to break the cultural backbone of this nation. That leave the liberal rich elite ruling over the poor slave class stuck in indentured servitude. The yuppies have got it that much easier...for now.
We do, they're called politicians. They break shit all while campaigning on solving the very problems they themselves created in the past. Insta-hero. Raw raw raw, get out the vote!
Think of it as a deposit. Because democrats don't have fuck-all worth of credit. They just like to spend. Republicans are having to teach these children a lesson in balancing a budget. Don't have enough money? Oh well, guess that means you'll have to not expand government. That's the goal BTW. Starve that fucking beast!
I just purchased a 13-inch, Mid 2012 MBP (non-retina) for the upgradeability. I needed a new one ASAP, and I'm of the understanding that this is the last model of this form-factor that will ever be released. 2.9Ghz i7, 8GB RAM (unofficially upgradeable to 16), and a SATA3 bus that accepts standard 2.5 SSD drives. Oh, and the battery can be replaced (not glued in). Basically, a good laptop that's as user-serviceable as it gets for the next 5+ years and beyond. It's a damn shame that Apple didn't offer this same form-factor in retina display; I would have bought one if they had.
Often there's an element of truth in jest. Specifically regarding Communist infiltration and indoctrination (nothing to do with fluoride nuttery theories btw).
"Education is a weapon whose effect depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed." -Joseph Stalin.
Basically, indoctrination via propaganda was seen as an effective way of maintain power and control of its populous and that of neighboring satellite nations.
Yes, you would. The difference hear is that 3D printing opens up a whole market for these devices where only a few people can or willing to carve stuff out of wood. Those that do are low enough to fly under the radar sort of speak. So it's not an issue now.

Just curious, what's your personal/professional background in knowing all this?
Helicopter hog hunting is perfectly legal in Texas. Wild hog populations have gotten extremely out of control. Killing them is not just for sport, it's a form of pest control. Drone hog hunting would be quite interesting too, but I'm not sure if unmanned killing is legal or not.
It's California liberalism. That's all you need to know. It's not like that state is in any financial trouble or anything (trying not to laugh).

China ranks #2 after the US #1 on imports. With regards to exports, China ranks #1 and US #2. Germany ranks #3 for both import and export.

It all comes down to trust. Who do you trust? No one? Self signed certs it is. Keep em safe.
