    That's NEVER a one-way street. It's always bi-directional. The very act of controlling corporations ends up backfiring and thus, politicians get bought and paid for.

    What we need is the exact opposite. We need the government to stay the fuck out of corporate affairs. We MUST keep the politicians and corporations from dancing with each other at the expense joe-sixpack.

    Remember. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

    The more prosperous a country becomes the more dynamic the rich and the poor are. That said, the poor in 1st world countries are still richer than the richest in 3rd world countries (not counting thugs and dictators).

    To understand this effect in reverse, read up on the Great American Depression. The really poor didn't notice a hit all that much. The poor got a little poorer. The rich, fell flat on their asses. There aways acceptions to the rule of course. Point is, facts are irrelevant when "class envy" shrouds judgment.

    But how much will the monthly fee be? I seriously doubt they can compete with the local Cable Co as they offer cable/internet combo packages.

    Better price, better video quality, why this Tivo service? Unless your stuck with DSL, I don't see the point.

    That's what happens when your society is stripped from religious freedom. You see, in China, the government *is* God. Nothing is higher then it (Government). As such, with most if not all forms of hubris, you end up with a society that is devoid of moral guidence and ripe of selfishness.

    The issue is deeper than that; its the fact that capitalism has failed. We should just cut our losses and put an end to this miserable system before we're really screwed.

    Yes, let's jump out of the frying pan and into the fire (socialism, communism for example). Capitalism is not perfect, far from it actually. Considering all the alternatives that have been tried, capitalism is the most successful and still continues to be so.

    You are right about one thing however, something has failed. It's the people that have failed. They've failed to give a damn about their future. Such attitudes of complacency will destroy a civilization regardless of the forms of governance that it embodies.

    For freedom to succeed, we all must be ever vigilant!

    Yes, by stacking multipul dies in one chip. The problem however is thermal. It's hard enough getting one die to cool down. How do you propose flushing the heat of the dies sandwhiched in the middle?

    It's not a bug or flaw.

    You can only record two programs at the same time, and then switch between the two. However, you can record one, and then watch whatever you want. The reason being is because they (SA8000 and SA8300 boxes) only have two tuners built in.

    Most likely, they were testing the suit by walking up partial cliffs and very rocky areas as indicated by the photos. Doing this in rainy weather makes for a slippery experience. At the very least, you slip and fall on your ass. At the worst, you break your neck.

    With true AI, it learns based on example and stores such memories as algorithms. Over time, such algorithms can be modified and honed for specific skill sets. While you could design something that acts like AI with a dictionary of predefined algorithms, it's still not AI...it's an illusion of AI. If you ask me, that defeats the purpose of AI research.

    I was thinking along the same lines. The universal warning to all Humans is to see a skull or full skeleton in view. It denotes a universal message of death! Better yet, just carve out images in stone of mass human suffering (hands grasping around the throat , vomiting...etc).

    Of course, I like the idea of constructing gigantic walls out of millions of skulls!

    That's the "text book" definition.

    Take China for example, it is totalitarian because of the combination of communism and facism. It's communistic because the government takes and spends tax dollars without voter representation. Also, the government lays down laws that put's itself above the people it's supposed to serve...including corporations. Interestingly enough, it's facist in that the Chinese government officials are totally corrupt in that they can be bought off with massive corporate and mafia funding. Ultimately however, it's the government that enforces the law (and does so with it's own government run banking and telcom divisions for example)

    Yes they are but they are not going towards Communism (left in the political spectrum) they are going far right towards Fascism.

    You can have both. It's called totalitarianism, that's exactly what China is. With totalitarianism you have a combination of the worst of both worlds (communism and fascism). First glance, it seems like an oxymoron, but it's not.

    Note: All countries that start out as facists or communist end up as a totalitarianism regime.

    Our modern way of live is built on a cheap energy foundation. Also, the same product that provides energy is also used to make all sorts of materials (plastics for example. Simply put everything we do depends on hydro-carbons.

    Guess where we get most of our hydro-carbon. Oil. Good news however, we can synthizise hydro-carbons from plant oils and not just crude oil. Rather simple process really.
