As I've stated in my previous posts, I am employed by TWC. Funny how I went from "they" to "we". I guess it's because I really don't like taking my work home with me. I do have a life of my own you know.
It's a good thing TimeWarner doesn't do this. I'll never say never. But the last thing they will want to do is piss off their subscribers. Though they offer Digital Phone, at least VOIP packets are prioritized using QOS. With Vonage, it shares your bandwidth in a free-for-all status. If a customer is not happy with their Vonage service using RoadRunner though, we would be happy to embrace them for our digital phone service instead.
Point being; never piss off your customer base. It's far easier to lose customers then it is to gain them.
You know, had I just said "No worries, just keep your browser updated." in regards to IE and Windows, I would have been modded down for promoting Windows in the first place.
I would say YES. Because regardless of where two particals are in relation to eachother, there is always some form of time dilation going on. It may be so minute to detect, but I'm sure it goes on regardless if two particles are a few atoms apart or a solarsystem appart. The only difference in the dilation is "how much"
Exactly. And why do people even buy software based firewalls anymore. I've seen nothing by problems with Norton Firewall and McAfee then I care to rant about. I mean, when a user is constantly being bombarded with "Would you like program X to access the internet", it just gets confusing. So normally, they will say YES for fear with will block their internet access. Which BTW does happen.
For a better an ease solution, just get a hardware router/firewall that does SPI. If for some strange reason you have problems with it, just reboot it. With a software firewall, you have to find what you did wrong or be forced to reinstall it which is a PITA all togeather.
And last but not least. A Linksys Wireless-G router with SPI firewall costs just $10 more compared to Symantic Norton Personal Firewall 2005. It's a no brainer as to what is a better choice. Check prices on the links below.
This is bullshit. Just how did Intel copy AMD? In fact, Itanium was designed from the ground up and that is a bloody FACT! Hell, Itanium was being worked on far longer then when AMD had plans for a 64 bit chip. I can site proof of this, can you back up your claim. How you got modded informative is beyond me. And yes, I will flame anyone who post such BS without the facts to back it up.
Granted, the AMD64 bit platform is the best stepping stone to migrate the industry into the 64bit world (the majority excluding Apple). But I though that EM64T was designed by Intel from the ground up. So how you can call it a kludge is beyond me.:-/
If they are admitting dataloss, then doesn't that add defense to Microsoft? I mean, if your told in advance that data loss might happen, then you would have explicitly warned that if it DOES happen, it's YOUR fault.
This is far better then Microsoft soft just saying "were are not held responsible for data loss". But rather MS is saying "We know data loss can happen, use this software and your own risk"
I'm not sure about any other states, but here in Texas if you agree to any settlement then you cannot go back and sue regarding the same issue. For example, lets say you request the 5 dollars and find out later it costed you 5 million in damages. Too bad sucka, you settled for the orignal 5 bucks.
Very sneaky of MS. I gotta hand it to them for that.
Well you see, they want to make sure your not walking out with more then what you paid for. It's their attept at stopping shoplifting. And from a friend of mine that worked at Frys Electronics, it WORKS! I mean, the statistics PROVE IT. So yes, you will start seeing more and more "Door Nazi" in the future. Sad, but true.
The exploitation of children is WRONG! You cannot justify the actions of harmful activities even if 100% are attracted to them. Granted, we are all animals. The only difference is some are more civilized depending on whome you talk to. But if we are to provide a free and safe inviroment for our future (starting with children), we must learn to harness the power of freewill over our animalistic instincts for the greater good of Humanity. There is no excuse for not using freewill to prevent such heinous activities.
1. Iraq is free and democratic. 2. Iraq poses a shining example to the rest of the Middle East. 3. A stable Middle East is safer for America. 4. There will be ecconomic payoff in the long run (yes, oil is nice while we still have some left on this planet).
I would put a price tag on this investment of... PRICELESS
That and the fact the UN does not like the US...to put it bluntly. I'm sure if Microsoft of IBM had their domain name hijacked, the UN would prolly say "too bad, these names are up for grabs in an equal manor. Hey france, you wanted these domains registered when? Tomorrow? ok, done."
Though I admit, I get discounts on all movies, nothing is quite as simple as iControl. If you live in Austin TX and subscibe to digital cable, tune to channel 1001. Just pick a movie, click to purchase (will be added to your next months bill) and watch. It's simple and you don't have to return anything. Oh and, it's enviromentally friendly too.
The only downside to this is the movie selection. It's rather limited to say the least. But as storage becomes cheaper I'm sure that will change. Lets not forget that the telecos will also be offering VOD if they arn't already. If Blockbuster isn't already, they should be crapping in their pants. I'm not sure how they can compete in the rental industry 5 years from now.
Because you have a huge bandwidth draw on CP, that to me tells me how popular and lustfull it is to people. It makes me wonder just how many people are turned on to CP but would never admit to it unless there was an anonymous poll taken.
It's just sick to even think of what might be a reality check for all of humanity
The real problem with education starts at home. When both your parents work, do not promote ethics and morals, and your subjected to environment that promotes sex, drugs, and scandals as a way of life for the elite through the media...then it becomes a SOCIAL problem and not one based on finances.
My sister-in-law is a school teacher here in Austin, TX. She has told me countless times how students are more violent and abusive they are. Worse yet, trying to punish them can often cost you your job out of the aspect of maintaining "political correctness".
Gee, and people wonder why our educational system is fucked up. The problems with it are not a cause, but a symptom of modern American society.
If I ever get married and have a child, I'll either send them to a private school, or home school them myself. And most important, I will NEVER ship them off to daycare as though they are a burden (sic). A proper society for any nation starts at the home.
Just wait till modern processors get the ability to process data using Quantum mechanics. Processors can already do FP, Vector...and maybe soon Quantum. At least, untill a full scale Quantum processor is fabricated.
And who exactly is going to pay for the Equipment to scan all IP packets? I'll be DAMNED if the government forces ISPs to pay out of their own pocket book which then has to be passed down to the consumer!!!
MPAA
1. Get government to pass laws. 2. Get government to force consumers to pay for equipment the ISP needs to enforce MPAA cartel. 3.... 4. Profit WITH YOUR FUCKING TAX DOLLARS!
I agree with what you said about subsidization. In fact, I will go further with this.
Again, keep the government OUT of the free market. The governments job is to serve the people with the citizens tax dollars. The only link corporations should have is with it's customers whome they support and vise-versa. The moment you get government involved with corporate activity, then it becomes a two-way street of nightmare perportions.
Keep in mind that America is a melting pot of cultures from all over the world. While both a positive thing, it can also civil unrest that is more common then say...Europe (Gang activity for example). Thus, banning the use of guns will only prevent those that want them for self defense from obtaining them. Yet, thugs never obay the law in the first place. So the law will clearly never have an effect on how the use weapons. Either the buy one at a pawn shop, or smuggle them in, they WILL get their weapon.
Developers...developers...developers...developers. .........developers...developers...developers!!!

What I want to know is...just how big of a splash can I make on a planet that has less gravity of Earth.
