Yeah I know Linux is the popular OS here, I said "because of this post", not "because of wiping Windows".
Some may flame me for using WineX because TG doesn't give back to the Wine project, or because TG asked Gentoo devs to remove the CVS ebuild (I'm a Gentoo user BTW). They don't realize that the only other option I have is installing Windows.
I was lucky enough to grab the new version before the/.'ing, TG says that this version adds support for some DirectX 9 features, like Pixel Shaders.
I've tried a couple of new DirectX 9 games, and so far I'm quite happy with the results, first game is Far Cry, it used to work with the previous version, but now the performance is much better, with less artifacts and more effects.
The other game is PainKiller, it runs quite well too, I had all kinds of problems trying to get this game running with the previous version.
I know I'm going to be flamed for this post, but I wiped my Windows partition a while ago, and WineX (Cedega whatever) is doing a very good job giving me my gaming needs, it's still much better than having a Windows gaming partition.
schnell has already asked the question What's Keeping You On Windows? It seems only fair to ask the opposite question. For those of you who have elected to not use Windows, what keeps you away from it?
The question is though, why would a company who makes spyware (who's very nature is to be secretive and hard to remove) want to follow Google's principles?
Have you RTFA? The vulerability can be exploited by convincing the victim to view an HTML document or an email, no need to use the help system or anything.
RTFA here, and check out the exploit demo here, and then figure out that you didn't use the help system, and yet the exploit happened.
RTFA, disabling ActiveX does NOT fix the problem, and there is NO complete solution.
Currently, there is no complete solution for this vulnerability. Until a patch is available, consider the workarounds listed below. [...] Disabling Active scripting and ActiveX controls will not prevent the exploitation of this vulnerability.
If WordPerfect Office uses XML, then most likely the formats will be well-documented, making it relatively easy to convert files from one format to another.
If Corel don't want this to happen, it'll use binary formats and not XML.
From their FAQ: Is WordPerfect Office 11 compatible with other office suites and file formats? Yes, WordPerfect Office 11 lets you share files with people and organizations using other applications and suites - including Microsoft Office. The flexible file-sharing capabilities of WordPerfect Office 11 allow you to publish to XML, PDF and HTML. Plus, enjoy support for many open standard technologies, including ODBC, SGML and OLAP.
So even if WordPerfect Office has its own file formats, it can export files to XML, making it easier for other Office Suites to open the files.
And there are HTML and PDF, which work nearly everywhere.

And if some editor ends up with too many dupes, you can always select not to see his/her stories on the main page from your preferences.
1) Mine is a joke too.
2) Yeah it does, it closes the parent window and opens the child's.
Well, the GNOME team did actually solve these problems, middle-click the folder and Nautilus will open it in the same window, benefits:
1) No double-click patent violation.
2) It works the same way as in Windows.
RTFP (Post) !

Konqueror uses a very capable HTML rendering engine called khtml.
From Konqueror's page.
UT2004 uses OpenAL for both Windows and Linux BTW.
UT2004 uses OpenAL for sound too.

Duh, because they want to be as good as Google.
j/k
You don't need to use an email address or anything to exploit the grand parent's URL, * can be anything:
First * = "malware.ru/www"
Second * = ""
Full URL = http://malware.ru/www.microsoft.com/
I suggest using regular expressions next time:
Or something similar.
So the PC version will be released several months after the PS2 like GTA3 and GTA:VC, can anyone confirm this?
I really like the series, but I'm not going to buy a PS2 just to play the game.
You can always play an enhanced version of Doom [1|2] here.
This is the very first story in the Google topic BTW.
I think something like Lightningcow would be much better...
Not really, spyware doesn't require that huge bandwidth to infect computers.
Today's bandwidth is more than enough for normal users to use P2P and get spyware.
For integers:
$id = intval($_GET['id']);
for strings:
$text = addslashes($_POST['text']);
Calling substr to limit the string's length isn't a bad idea either.
And use quotes for queries as the parent suggests.
How hard is it to validate input?
I usually use an input validation layer, I don't access $_GET/$_POST/... arrays in my scripts, I use a class that automatically validates variables.
Well, it's about time for kids to start wearing tinfoil hats.
Easy, check out the page history.

I was going to post it, here is the any way.

Agreed, the idea is pretty cool, I hope it'll be in the game.
A couple of years back, Blizzard announced that it'll add a new race to Warcraft III, the Panda race, it was an April fool.
however, last year Blizzard added the Pandaren Brewmaster to Warcraft III's expansion, The Frozen Throne.
