    Windows Plus Pack offered several themes which allowed user customizations.

    In Vista, if you are a standard user then you have to enter a password.
    If you are an admin you get a prompt to allow priv escalation.

    I can understand a justification like this for an OS of the same platform.
    However, I would really surprised if Microsoft would claim Vista was delayed due to Windows Mobile.
    The skillsets don't translate well between a small platform like handheld device and full desktop OS.

    I would like to see him do this in 64-bit.
    32-bit allows unsigned code in kernel mode for legacy reasons so its much more easier to inject into 32-bit processes.

    And now already they are already to release another version?

    I have a hunch they are using managed C# code.

    I have little confidence in a product which is not written in lean-mean native C++ based code.

    What is your point? It won't work in any other operating systems either.

    If the content provider has flaged that content protection is required then you can only play it in full fidelity with a protected path.

    Is this a new feature?
    Vista can playback a music file with reduced quality if you don't have rights to it.
    I can find no reference to such a feature on Microsoft site. Please post relevant links.

    Previous operating systems completely denied music playback if you didn't have rights.
    Its actually super cool if you now actually play non-authorized files, albeit with reduced quality. /.

    Apple uses MS Office to produce option documents.
    Someone from the government used a remote exploit to modify the option documents to entrap Apple employees.

    It does mention the file versions. From the fileversions you can determine that WMP9 & WMP10 can "supposedly" be exploited.
    WMP11 doesn't have the issue.

    Did you even read the case details?

    One of the cases is about Microsoft' codecs. The source was created in the US, It was licensed by a foriegn company. The foriegn company used the code to sell a product abroad.

    This make it AT&T against FOSS.
    FOSS has a lot to lose if Microsoft loses.
    Good thing DOJ is supporting Microsoft.

    The site from where this information is gathered is unknown.
    It might be a site with an appeal to a restricted set of users.
