Makes me think of how Philip Morris changed its name to Altria (Sounds like they are now altruistic) or how Palladium was changed to Next Generations Secure Computing Platform Whatever. (Sounds like they are trying to make your computer safe)
They don't change the business, they just try to run from their (well deserved) reputation.
Maybe more research could be done into a marketable multi-century (millenial?) storage. For corporate purposes, several decades of fidelity, perhaps a century or two, would be fine - but government will need better than that.
Yeah right. The government wants all historical data distroyed as soon as it is created.
All of the books in the world contain no more information than is broadcast as video in a single large American city in a single year. Not all bits have equal value. --Carl Sagan
Actually, I think a bigger problem would be audience size. You need to reach a certain critical mass before the moderation system would work. Most blogs, my own included, do not have the necessary audience.
Although the term flyblog has been used already to mean either blogging about flying, or blogging while flying, I would like to claim it for the practice of posting spam comments to people's blogs like this: I have just been comprehensively flyblogged
I like I have been splamogged much better. Just rolls off the tongue.
Read in Heise (German) how Tholos Systems wants to create a huge outdoor 360 degree video conference between all european capitals, starting with London and Vienna." Pretty impressive technology, but the purpose is still a bit unclear.
You're description doesn't help either. Is this a circular wall that will span from London to Vienna? What's the point of a 360 degree display if the opposite wall is hidden by the curvature of the earth.
Napster, which works only on Windows-based computers, will launch with half a million songs - more than its rivals. Still, that number pales in comparison to what was available on Napster 1.0 or today's illicit file-swapping networks.
What crap-tacular file-swapping net are you using. Any decent sized p2p has way more than 500kilo songs, and movies, and images, ect.

I have a version where Guido, a professional bounty hunter, is able to hit a sitting target at point blank range. : )
Tennessee's Super-DMCA Rises From The Grave
The title never gives enough information. It is a vampire or a zombie? I don't know if I should go and buy a wooden stake or lighter fluid.
And doesn't MS own a sizeable chunk of apple?
What does it mean for family time when there is a TV in every room?
What does it mean for family time when there is TV at all?
Don't forget Whitehouse.org, the real whitehouse webpage.
Hand-Sized Antelope
Cool! I can keep a whole stable of those in my cramped dorm room.

Yes. That's partly why Google's search results are nearly useless any more
Are you kidding? What search engine do you use?

Perhaps these 'web logs' could come up with a kind of 'moderation system' to let users filter out the crap.

The uses up to this point are somewhat trivial
Trivial? Just wait until you see my bookshelf beowulf!
Ouch. And not very fun for either either party involved.
Now I can get treatment for my shot-with-a-bfg phobia, or my falling-off-the-edge-of-the-map phobia.
I've used a palm pilot to read the txt files. It's the best on the eyes for me.

Napster online music service, which has emerged from the ashes of the old free-for-all as a legal, recording industry-sanctioned, pay-to-play store.
It's not a phoenix flying free but bird that emerged to find a chain arond it's neck.
And "Dork" is the affectionate title the girlfriends use. : )
on your 3 week holiday

I hear the germans get 6. Anyone know what it is in the UK? I just moved there
I hope China goes to the moon or beyond.
But not Europa. Attempt no landings there.
