I think the so much loved MS Passport.
Take it one step further... Passport + wireless device = New Payment method? I guess it could be done now with PDAs. However, I'm one of those people that can't stand PDA usability and do not use them. However I love my Archos GMini 402 and I have it on me almost everyday.
They are making money on the float. Any excuse to delay funds and keep the money in their accounts means more money on the float for them. Same thing with PayPal. They could have a 48hr turnaround with deposits into your account. However it can take up to a week. Really no reason for it other than to maximize the use of your money for their profit.
Or world governments brought to their knees by an omni powerful corporation using fear mongering to maintain their industry kind of Future.
However I think we, the people of earth, can handle only one omnipresent ethereal threat at a time. Personally I'm liking the war on terror... I digress... What's going to kill us next? I forgot...
Win2K and XP Pro have had this feature for a while now.

Now it would be a wonderful world if that worked in all cases. However installing HotSync or ActiveSync using another user does not work. You have to temporarily promote a user, install, then demote.
My hope is garbage like above will be flushed out with vista.
A panda walks into a bar. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air.
"Why? Why are you behaving in this strange, un-panda-like fashion?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda walks towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.
"I'm a panda," he says, at the door. "Look it up."
The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.
"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."
Yeah cool but please don't call till the Agamemnon is launched.
Goofing around aside. This is cool. Dangerous but cool. Let's face it. This will be the mode of propulsion that will take spacecraft around our solar system for many years to come.
Freediag is stagnant because people have lost interest. If they want to implement new protocols within the 0BD II standard they should pick up Freediag and continue the development. Freediag is almost completely finished the portability portion of it's development. It compiles under most operating systems.
I guess Yay! for GPL being upheld in court. Yay! For independent an DIY auto repair folks. However, bummer for a project that really needs some new blood.

and no there is no genesis device. Nor any ancient device to reorganize matter built by people long ago. However there are some very large fire letters that spell out something. Alas the message escapes my memory...
Now we see the benefits. John Ashcroft was an ardent supporter of mandatory sentences. With the recent supreme court decision that upheld the sovereignty of a Judge's judiciary powers in determining sentence. Had he been sentenced just three months ago he'd be looking at 5 years in pound me in the ass prison.
I'm thinking that the cops use devices that are small and relatively cheap. So they probably use consumer available GPS receiver chip sets. Also most other GPS (differential and the like) are large and costly. So I think it's a safe bet that local law enforcement GPS trackers are easy to jam.
Not just for the Tin Foil hat crowd. Those who are criminally inclined may find a GPS Jammer handy. Though this does violate FCC regulations. But hey when you committing a crime, does breaking one more law matter?
The "unusual" provision, at least, is clear: providing that persons will not be subjected to arbitrary, humiliating, or carpricious punishment outside the normal course of the law
Interesting comment by the author about SP2. It made me think about my upgrade practices. On my Win2k servers I wait nearly 6 months before I upgrade or apply any patches. I just need to know all the bugs are out before I put it into production.
However on my linux server I love installing the latest stable builds. Maybe that is because the software tends to be of better quality?... Possibly masochism... maybe... Then again I do run Win2k server.
I cringe when I flip past VH1 on the television. It's always where are they now. Most of the time it's a tragic story.
However I think in your case a "catchup interview" on a morning show or a late night would be greatly welcomed.
This brings me to my questions. Have you had offers to appear on shows such as NBC's today show or CBS's Late night with Dave Letterman? If so did you turn them down and why? If you have not been offered do you feel that there is a stigma around you? Could it be something a kin to black ball in the 1930's?
I enjoy your blog and I wish I could have made your reading in Portland, OR a few months back.
By in turn using their service to provide one that they are trying to control. Then again I could always go with the worlds Greatest ISP. One the encourages sharing of their broadband.

In this case they are using a very bad excuse.
I love fish and chips, IPA, bitter, and I love you too!

However windows has better support for ACPI so it runs cooler and uses less power.
I wouldn't say parent is flamebait or a troll. I would say it's misinformed. Alas, no mod points for that.
Did anyone else hear John Cleese's voice as they read the quote about the new comedy?

An interesting use of Google Movies maybe using this to see how flawed the and utterly pointless award shows are.

Maybe paypal should be incharge.
Me: Hello paypal someone cracked your systems and stole my balance.
PayPal: Oh really? Tough Titties! *click*
Me: WTF Mate?
And it was said. God responded unto G4from128k.

I think that qualifies as Cruel and Unsual Punishment

This assumes I use MS SQL. I personally use Win32 ports of proven OSS on my Win2k machine. This includes Apache, MySQL and others.
