    Phishing is the act of scamming a user into giving money, credit cards, valuable information SSN, the like. they use email, IM, what have you to convince the person they are a trusted business and then rob them blind. Pretty depressing

    I have this fear it would be like OS 9.2 was Engineer:"well it's kinda stable" Marketing:"OK RELEASE IT!!!!" I actually reinstalled OS 9.1 to avoid all the pain of having it crash every other lame reason it could.

    Customer walks into computer store I smile and ask how I can help them "I want this harddrive *mentions rebate*" *I like a good pleeb hand it to them thinking nothing of it ring it up and think well that was a nice 4 dollars to my commision* less then a week later *customer walks in with harddrive in hand* *wants to return for cash* rebate on side missing... mention this and the guy gets irate. 25 minutes a manager and the owner later the guy leaves with harddrive in hand swears he will never shop here again... good.

    Personally I put google above any of the other search engines out there, its clean no nonsense interface gives you what you want. I am not interested in having a search engine have about 700 billion different features that have nothing pertaning to what I am seeking, Yahoo may have some nice tie ins but I dont need a page full of ads to get in my way or an advertisement for YAHOO SMALL BUISNESS.

    yeah, I like the remote wonder, I loved how out of the box it worked with iTunes, Winamp and most of the other reasons you would buy it however unlike most other peripherals it didnt come plug and play and you had to install the software restart (sobs for lost uptime) and then hope you set it up right. anybody know if theres linux support for it?>

    My iPod most definitly is the most well designed easy to use conveinence ever, it oozes easy to use and it just has an elegance and flow to it that makes you want to use it.

    I admin a server, for a half life modification and the only way I've found thats surefire and true is that you just figure itou t on your own, its kinda obvious when a guy has 400 kills and 8 deaths in a server full of people, and also their attitude has to do a with a lot, if you ask them a qustion and they get defensive it generally is a yes, if they play it off as nothing and laugh you just need to push farther and its generally a YES, and the rest just kinda chill out an say nah im not hacking. But otherwise if your good enough as an admin, you can just see it. especially speedhackers.

    Check out The Specailists its a mod for Half life, its pretty much a Matrix T/C for Half life, really fun the community is still small, theres only a few clans and they are willing to educate people on the more advanced moves and techniques, as long as you RTFM and get a basic jist of whats going on

    one thing that is to be noted is that no matter how hard open source has been attacked especially *nix in the recent SCO crap, the community I have witnessed has banded together and become a unified place to work, weather or not SCO wins this they will not stop the opensource community, there may come a time when it is frowned upon to use Linux but I know that there will always be people who use it and are proud of it. Raise your fist in the air Opensource, one thing that power to the people also delivers is the ability to speak up and deny those who are doing wrong the ability to do so anymore, this may sound really cheesy but its true people need to be made aware of exactly how great the open source community is and what it has provided and what will happen if one of its keystones is ripped away by a company only out to gain for itself and no one else.

    I don't like it because being the only true Nerd in the house, I get a lot of intrusions on life from a 13 year old brother who finds it fun in his spare time to take advantage of my good nature and techincal knowledge, many times ive had song lyrics and or stuff he shouldn't have seen shown to him by friends who get his AIM address I've tried blocking them but he managed to figure out how to undo such things and is now roaming free in the metasocial domain of my friends, constantly do i find myself explaining to my mom about why and how he saw a goresite a horsesex site and even Goatse, the kid just can't handle the internet yet and it shows. However the rest of my family still can't figure out how to use Earthlink so as for now I am safe.

    I feel that, the Wintel lockup is something I predicted to friends and they all looked at me like what the crap are you nuts? BWAHA!!! my consipracy theories come true again!!! but no seriously, a Wintel lockup would suck becuause by nature Intel charges a premium price that puts people who build machines at a disadvantage when your on a budget I would much rather pay 200 dollars for an Athlon Barton 3200+ and put the other 250 I would have had to spend on a 3.2 ghz intel at 500 dollars toward a better gpu and cooling. In the end it makes sense I fear that we may end up at a point where no longer is it Apple vs PC but moer or less like Wintel, Amd and Linux and Apple.
