NO ONE with ANY sense trusts INDYMEDIA

Sorry, but your last link there blew it. Most of us have seen the expose's on FOX news about how indymedia distorts their so-called facts (when they don't simply create them out of a few stills and photo shop). Their staff is so far to the left, they make Al Gore look conservative!
I agree with this post.
People who cry the loudest that "I'll sue" or "I'll leave the country" (remember that one from the war, kids?) are usually the ones who are the most "full of it".
Seperating a company from its' actions is only hard if the conversation is about its' action. In this case, you can say "companies like" means "companies that share similar markets", or "companies of compartively similar income" or even "companies located in the same geographic region". None of those "includes the notion of current dominant market posistion".
So, my question remains, and your little song and dance changes even less than would Mengele were he singing 'springtime for hitler'. (see? it's not hard for the other person to inject total nonsense into their post, also.;))
How does it show Microsoft as being 'short-lived' in any realistic sense? I'm sorry, you can argue that microsoft's dominant market posistion is "short-lived", but that's not what you're saying. You're saying that "companies like microsoft are short-lived". I would like to know what the thought process was that brought you to that conclusion.

I clicked on one of the intel ads last night and was debating wether or not to download the 'unsupported' linux version of intel C & Fortran. Mostly just to play around with.
I'm wondering if anyone here has played with intel (esp under Debian) C and has any comments on it versus GCC.
Also [on a fortran note] if it would be worth getting intel fortran for the sake of fortran 95 support, or should I stick w/ the ubiquitous [sp?] gcc/fortran 77 which runs everywhere?
Yikes! Even the XP EULA allows a visiting friend to use your computer. (afaik, correct me if I'm wrong.)
So, long story short: Lindows is copying not only Microsoft's look and feel, but also the legalese (and in this case, even eceeding it)?
Ugh, I guess someone had to replace SCO.
BTW, what the hell is an "Illegal Comment"?

If people are truly disgruntled by the taxation and regulation of the internet, perhaps they should consider looking over our past more carefully as oppposed to striking off and starting a new internet.
I'm curious wether-private or not- minitel could be used as an 31337 n00b fr33 internet alternative.

Opinions, anyone?
I haven't wanted to get an X-box before now, but with Doom III on there, maybe it's time to look around amazon or something... :)
AMD, NetBSD in place of XP? ;)

Is anyone else reminded of the radical group from "A life of brian", or is it just me?
What are the right ones, then?
