Actually, I don't care since I don't regularly use Ad-Aware. I have used it a couple of times on other systems and found it to not be utter crap, hence the mention. But on all my Windows rigs it's Spybot and common sense. Never even bothered with the MS product either, even though I have one XP machine. Is it any good?
I'va actually got an interesting story regarding AVG and slowdown. Back before my vidcard flamed out on me, I was doing a little early morning Doom 3 playing before going to work. Given that my system is a 1.8 Ghz Athlon and the RAM (at the time) was 512MB, it was less than perfect, but I'd managed to find a happy compromise between speed and looks. Anyway, about 20 minutes into the game, there was a short, noticeable slowdown which I ignored as it was fairly common. 10 minutes later, when I quit the game, I noticed AVG running its usual morniing scan and laughed.
As for it not handling spyware, that's a feature, not a bug. Some people may find it annoying to have 5 apps for 5 things, but IMO specialization is a good thing here. For your spyware needs, Spybot and Ad-aware work just fine.
Jesus, talk about an ungrateful snot-nosed bastard. If you don't like his instructions, go look 'em up online instead of whining like a 5 year old with a skinned knee.
What with the hype and the fanboys running on overdrive lately, it's nice to see somebody in the industry giving props to competitors, not to mention being a spokesman for the videogame industry who takes the first word in that term more seriously than the latter. Classy guy.
Seconded. FM has 2 big pluses going for it. It's highly customizable, and very easy to get started with. I use for at least half a dozen different things at work and home, and I'm not even getting half the functionality out of it I could be.
And then there's a totally different set of people hwo, upon seeing the remastered versions for the first time go: "What the fuck is all the fuss about?". It's not that the originals are sacred or anything, it's just that the remastered version didn't do anything particularly new or groundbreaking.
The originals work, and I'm glad they're bringing them out, won't have to rely on my torrents of the original LDs...
Boo-hoo, that's what happens when you're the "800-pound gorilla" in the room. Eeven the slightest twitch will get you a ton of feedback, good or bad. I might just able to feel sorry them if they weren't this huge, very rich near-monopoly.
Speaking as a complete hippie who thinks the world already runs too much on money, how is building a kick-ass piece of software and wanting to make a little cash out of it greedy?
A buddy of mine recently got a Dell XPS system via QVC (around $1400), and, speaking as someone who builds his own systems, I'm fairly impressed. The system was snappy as hell, played (and loaded) games very fast, and was not loaded down with a ton of junk.
Granted, I could build a similar system for less, but for that kind of cash, it's awful tempting...
In defence of text messaging, in most markets/countries, it's a hell of a lot cheaper, or even free, versus the cost of making a one minute phone call, so it's a highly cost-efficient (not to mention more private) way of communicating.
After that, it's all bloat as far as I'm concerned.
Yeah, but announcing a show, and bringing out a new show are two very different things. Assuming this makes it past the idea stage, I don't see this hitting the air for at least 2 years (writing, casting, developing then producing takes time).
Dude, you've been really bitchy lately, what's up witht hat?
Love your sig.
Wuss!
I was thinking more along the lines of them wanting to milk the Windows XP run first...

Mind you if you're talking about about the Red Lion in Brentford, I think I know the guy you're talking about.

Desperate Housewives? Or pretty much anything on Cinemax...
I think you just answered your own question there...

Or asbestos poisoning.
For the clueless editors, here's a good summation: If you're going to throw shit at us, expect some back.

Which is sad, really. Several hundred dollars worth of software is used by the majority as nothing more than glorified Notepad.
Short answer - comes from AH's Mein Kampf.

That's a good point, but live commercials could still be cheap to make while providing bang for buck - I think reality TV is proof of that.
I think Halo is good.
And I play a shitload of PC FPSes. Hell, I played some ET at work today.
My attraction to Halo has nothing to do with it being an FPS. Great story, great graphics, and (for a console), great control scheme.
So get off your generalizing high horse already.

Disclaimer: I'm still cell-phone free.

I don't know. If you download one of the recent Metallica releases, everybody loses.
