That's some semi-decent hardware for $199. If the phantom does indeed come out with these specs and price, won't people just take em apart for the guts?

Us music junkies. I listen to everything from Trip Hop to Metal and everything in between (well, except Polka, Teen Pop and New Country.) Maybe you should expand your horizons. Good new music is hard to find, I'll grant, but it is out there.

Yeah, with a maximum capacity of 512MB, it's gonna take ages...

Speaking of which, is there even a market for sub-GB mp3 players these days? Even at 128kbps, that's only about a 100 songs.

Not a good idea if your network machine might go offline

This is Slashdot. If your network machine goes offline a lot, you're doing something wrong!

As I mentioned before, dumb storage for GBs of tunes is cheap and easy as long as you use win2k or one of the mainstream Linux distros.

Then again, enclosed Firewire drives seem to be the way to go if you have a little more cash, but I prefer using a big beige box, it's soooo stylish!

Besides, have you seen the average panzerwhore? He usually blows himself up in the process of a kill, which is a crappy ratio if you ask me. Not to mention thay're practically useless between shots, running around with their little pistol. Give me engies, medics and fops any day.

Well, yes, but every so often, a format comes along that works, is cheap, and enjoys widespread use and support. CDs were the last one. Eventually, the multiplicity of DVD options will coalesce around one of them. After that, we can bitch about the next gen of data storage here on Slashdot.

Let's see, Hamas blew up an American student at a Tel Aviv university, as well as group of officials in Gaza that were there to find Palestinian Fulbright scholars, not to mention hundreds of Israel civilians including infants, women, and children.

And don't respond that "Israel kills Palestinians too" - the difference being that Israel doesn't intentionally target civilians while Hamas, Hizb'allah, the al-Aqsa Martyr's Brigade, and the other Palestinian terrorist organizations do.

    I wont.

I'm not defending anybody here. Like in many other places in the world, it's one dogmatic ideology fighting another. Fucking pointless and childish. The link I posted was to show evidence that you can dislike the state of Israel and its policies without being anti-semitic. I support none of the participants in this or any similar affair.
