Well done, this can only lead to more free entertainment.
Here, here. I've been enjoying free online entertainment for quite a while now. SHows like Diggnation, WASD, Hak.5, DLTV, The Scene, Pure Pwnage, Open Alpha, Rocketboom etc..
Sure, the acting may be a bit off, and the sets a bit cheap, but there are some talented writers out there with interesting stories and tech shows that show it all without the corporate "the lawyers say we can't say/do that" mentality.
To all the free online TV and Video Blog show makers, we salute you!
It's Freedom of Speech. Get over it.
Years ago people would get up on a soap box and just talk to whoever would listen and engage in debates. You can do a similar thing in London even today at Hyde Park corner.
People will express their opinions on Blogs and that is just a fact of life. If they want to bash Micro$oft, they are as free to do so on a blog as they would be on the street corner.
User adjustment isn't that much of an issue. I've done work in many offices around Paris and have converted servers and desktops to Linux where the man with the money didn't have a valid windows license and didn't want to pay for one.
The servers are not an issue in the smaller offices as I mostly set it up and it can be forgotten for a few years;)
As for the users, I found that sticking large, colourful icons for their most used apps on the desktop and a 10 minute crash course in the Gnome or KDE desktop is all most users need to get working. Some users have even thanked me because their "New version of Windows" is much better than the old one. LOL:D Thanks Ubuntu:)
I think "vulnerability" is too strong a word for this. "Slight annoyance" would be more appropriate since all it does is lock up the browser which can be killed and you move on.
Politicians be damned! We will blog free and will not give up our freedom of speech as a human right!

The solution is easy. Develop an edible DVD! That would be a true innovation. Imagine a play once "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" DVD that you can get your teeth into afterwards!:)
RIAA/MPAA fears that some day people will realize that there is a lot of high quality entertaiment outside Hollywood.
That's so true. I've been watching the episodes of Star Wreck they released before and found them highly entertaining. There are a lot of other free shows starting to come out now on the net too.
Diggnation, DigitalLife tv, Pure Pwnage, rocketboom video blog.. the list grows every day. Some of the action may be amateurish, but this is a fledgling, cottage industry that's bound to increase in quality and quantity for years to come.
I for one, am looking forward to the future of home-made internet tv!
The movie industry just like the music industry has to learn that sometimes falling sales isn't due to pirates.
If you release crap movies or CDs by Popstars rejects, some people will not buy it no matter how much you advertise it.
Sometimes selling a turd wrapped in plastic just isn't possible.
The "Up to" is a very important point.
Here in Paris we have neuf telecom promoting "Up to" 20Mb/1Mb for 14.90 Euros. I know 5 others with neuf's connection and apart from one who gets ~8Mb, we all get between 1Mb and ~1.7Mb in reality. I've been waiting nearly a year for them to upgrade the exchange or something so I can go faster but I'm not holding my breath.
Lol at helpdesk.ro:)

... and so on followed by a strange looking box with a couple of zeros in it. Perhaps they should ring helpdesk??;)
How do you suggest getting $8bn out of G W Bush for a bunch of dykes when he slashed the funding for the original levees so he could go off and impose his "freedom and democracy" on countries half way across the world who don't want it?
I guess convicting and fining 12 year old girls for downloading old Spice Girls tracks is more lucrative than investing in and releasing material by talented musicians these days.
That's funny. I signed up for a hotmail account just to hold my Spams. I use it whenever my email address is required to register at webpages when I am not sure about their intentions with my email address.
My hotmail spam trapper is bulging at the seams with spamminess these days!
He also suggests that CAN-SPAM has been effective in deterring spammers.
Tell that to my poor, struggling little server with precious resources being gobbled up by the anti-spam and anti-virus capabilities of Amavis, Clam and Spamassassin. That comment smells phishy to me.;)
On my little webserver, IE has been steadily decreasing in share and for the first time it is less than 70% at 65.1%. Firefox has 18.6%.
Personally I'd love to see IE go down a lot in market share if only to stop websites that are IE only. You should be able to view any website with any browser!
Recently, when installing a friend's machine with windows, the damn thing got infected before I even had a chance to download and install SP2.
Needless to say, both he and I were quite angry by the second attempt. He is now a happy Ubuntu Linux user!:)
Well said. These days there seems to be too much focus on aprehension and prosecution than prevention of the causes.
For example, Patriot Act, "War" on Terror etc..

It's like a bank robber suing the bank after the robbery because he slipped on the floor during his getaway and sprained his ankle.

Once inside the restricted area, eat the gummy finger and proceed. :)

This is not some new, and innovative feature from Microsoft. Openoffice.org has had pdf export for ages!

Great. Now I know what to get that cute Uni Student next door for her birthday. :D

Remeber, bugmenot.com is your friend! ;)
Knowing the windows situation these days, even the 1Gb flash drive would get infected. ;)
