    I wouldn't become involved with them in person. I also do not recommend that they take erotic photos of themselves.

    I keep Windows software off of my Linux work environment in general, too. Unfortunately, my coworkers have a tendency to send me spreadsheets with more than 2^16 rows. This requires Office 2007. At least, it won't work on OOo 3 or Gnumeric.

    Prostitutes exist with or without Craigslist; it is not a "source" and it does not create prostitutes. They'd be out walking the street if Craigslist didn't give them somewhere safe to advertise. I'd much rather keep them on the web than on my sidewalk.

    It feels like religion/morals is the justification they use for all of their decisions here in the States. As an American, an atheist, and a college graduate it really bothers me that it feels like everything is justified by a religion rather than logic. Didn't these guys study formal logic in law school?

    Unfortunately, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion" is not the same as "Congress shall make no law whose only justification is an establishment of religion"

    It's SIMD. It's a simple set of instructions running on a whole lot of little sets of data. This is the same thing video cards do and it is a great way to solve (some) problems.

    ATI's binary drivers actually work, too. They had problems in the past, but I've recently bought a new card from ATI to replace my Nvidia card and I can say easily that they both work very well with the binary drivers.

    That's beside the point, though. We're talking about open drivers.

    Also, ATI has open source 2D drivers and just yesterday released specs that should allow for good open source 3D drivers. Sometime in the next 6 months, their graphics cards should support OpenCL, too. ATI is the way to go for open hardware support at the moment.

    Ugh, yeah we use PHP here. Something about having a language that's so easy to use makes people think that every PHP app is as simple as making a three table database with a form on a webpage.

    I like to ask "What is your favorite programming language?"

    Not everyone will have one, but everyone who's written many programs will have things that they prefer about some language. Also, it makes interviews go faster because "rubyonrails" is not a programming language. Ruby could be a valid answer and Rails could be a nice framework to talk about when explaining the answer, but it's not a language and that should be clear to anyone who knows what a programming language is.
