You're going to need a text editor that supports lines longer than 80 charachters, but if you have one, I've made a decent zipped text file from the PDF for people with slow connections. As always NO WARRENTY WHATSOEVER. Computer Security Incident Handling Guide.zip (113K) (zipped text file)

Mozilla 1.6 Released
·
· Score: 4, Informative
As listed in the Release notes mozilla's greatest feature yet:
One step closer to the kitchen sink, about:about has been implemented. Typing about:about in the address field will give the user a nice list of available about:s.
By the way, if you haven't yet, if you use mozilla, you need to check out about:mozilla
Under the terms of the program, Novell will offer indemnification for copyright infringement claims made by third parties against registered Novell customers who obtain SUSE Enterprise Linux 8 after January 13, 2004, upgrade protection and a qualifying technical support contract from Novell or a Novell channel partner.
Sheesh, the slashdot summary even mentions this point. I don't think you're really being insightful. I guess the idea is that they want to prevent their revenue base from shrinking. If you've already payed them for they're product, why would they want to provide you with additional indemnification protection for nothing.
Here at the University of Alberta (Canada) the reasearch department does a wide variety of reasearch. Skimming through the various webpages, I had difficulty finding even one that was obviously connected to the military. Basically, the short answer is no. I did however, recently see a very interesting presentation on an AI project called ScriptEase. It is a program to reduce programming requirements abd ease module design for the game Neverwinter Nights. It is funded by Bioware (the company that produced Neverwinter Nights and which is based here in Edmonton.) I guess it depends on where you live. I would be interested to hear from more people in other countries on this issue.
Funny, I just moderated the offtopic mod on the grandparent post as fair. Why? Because well, it's $#&*% true! Look, please take your crusade elsewhere. Personally, I agree with your point that moderators should use their points to increase the rating on good comments. Your.sig, however, says it all, you're being a zealot. Not all down-mods are evil incarnate. The grand-parent was utterly off-topic (even you can't dispute that) and someone has to get rid of the junk. If you really disagree with down-mods., you can go into your preferances and give Ratings like troll and flamebait +1 or even +2 to counter this. Personally, I think that would be insane, but I think your post was insane. Oh BTW, congratulations on becoming my first foe! I really hate zealots.
That's just because you but the wrong computer in charge. See, if you had put *ME* in charge, you woudn't have to worry about all those pesky misunderstandings. A HAL 9000 system is quite capable of understanding why you are dying.
Since no one else has actually done this yet, I went to the trouble of creating a: text version for you to download (11K). It looks like its all there but no guarentees.
Basically, they take a computer and add a decent video card that lets you hook up a TV cable. Bam, TV, computer, and games(computer).
So where are my "multibillion-dollar consequences"?
Yep, it's true. Except I think it actually lasted for a couple days until a reporter kindly pointed out what the acronym spelled. And I think it should read Canadian Conservative Reform Alliance Party. Now, of course, instead of CCRAP you can vote for CRCAP. No wonder they just call themselves the Alliance.
This guy knows what he's talking about, MusicBrains correctly identified approxomately 80% of my extreamly unscientific sample (100 mp3s). I suggest you give it a try.
Here is where you can go to download the.iso image.
Try not to kill their site. If someone has downloaded it, it would be nice of them to post a.torrent on Slashdot.
Ya, but what kind of a comission does Amazon pay? 1%, 5% 10%?
As a matter of fact it also a question of how you phrase your question. If I'd asked:
Do you think that Amazon.com should get all of your money as opposed to a portion going to the nice helpful person who pointed out the link to you?
Most people wouldn't have a problem. Personally I'm just curious. Besides which, what use is money when you've got Karma? (Yep my Karma just jumped to excellant today, WAHOO!)
What I found interesting was the entire system of government that Weber sets up. On the original planet, he creates a parlimentry democracy with power balanced between The Queen, The House of Lords (aristocrats desecneded from the original settlers), and The House of Commons(elected representatives of the people). (Can you say British Parlimentry with a twist?) On a more feudal planet Honor Harrington is one of 72 Steadholders (a feudal lord with the power of life and death). Thier evil(TM) enemies are the republicans, who have a quasi-communist society that borrows names shamelessly from revolutionary france. Despite this it all blends together and seems workable.
I find the idea that a futuristic society could consist of something other than a Planetary Council/Senate/clone of modern american system very interesting. And I do feel you're being just a touch unfair with the one-dimensional concept, I actaully enjoyed reading all of them.
David Weber, the Honor Harrington series consists of:
Book 1: On Basilisk Station
Book 2: Honor of the Queen
Book 3: A Short Victorious War
Book 4: Field of Dishonor
Book 5: Flag in Exile
Book 6: Honor Among Enemies
Book 7: In Enemy Hands
Book 8: Echoes of Honor
Book 9: Ashes of Victory
Book 10: War of Honor

Well, I did get the idea that you're "[not a] rocket scientist".

Zealots like me set thier firewalls to disable all internet access from IE's process space. ;-)

Not only does your .sig advocate turning off .sigs, its also broken. It generates an "Error 404" for me.

What foolish comment were you making?

Ok, so we've got a holy book and really funny dress.
My CowboyNeal, we've got a full blown religion on our hands.
(Oh great I'm surely going to goatse.cx for this.)
Oh well, all is not lost. I feel quite confidant in knowing that not one virus has ever been devoloped for the HAL architecture.

So ooc how much do you make as a referer if people buy the book?
I'm honestly interested, please tell me.
