I think you fail to see how competitive the market is, look at the companies gaining the most ground in the smart phone arena Huawei http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwide/productHomeAction.do?method=index&directoryId=5000, never heard of them, they are biting at the heels of Samsung. Then consider Foxcon, as the iPhone loses ground to Android phones coming at it from all directions, will Foxcon accept losing that market share or will they start assembling Android phones.
Android is a competitive platform, and over the next decade we will see manufacturers exchange lead positions on Android based upon the price and quality of their hardware. Of course they will be able to sweeten the deal of their hardware in many ways.
Appliance stores, forget Goggle or Apple, many of those phone manufacturers can actually bundle in real world appliances, big screen TVs, fridges, air-conditioners, dvd players, stoves, washing machines.
You might find that the hype point, the peak of product attention span is passing for mobile phones all together, just another product in a persons day to day life, no big whoop. The theme coming across from the internet is the iPhone is the last of the must have gadgets purely for the worst of the unthinking spoiled brats, in other words yesterdays fad.
The answer is far simpler than that, have you done what any employer would do and tested them. Medical Tests - to ensure they can healthily finish office and won't cost to much. IQ test to ensure they can learn what they need to learn quickly. Knowledge tests, check they already have the basic knowledge they need to do the job they are applying for. Psychology tests, ensure they mentally fir for the job they are apply for. Psychopathy test, can't be cheated on and obviously keeping psychopaths out of office avoids wars and blatant corruption. Verification of employment and public behaviour history.
What? You have done none of these and don't intend to, then you schmucks are just bloody guessing. Seriously which major company would employ people based upon the method the public are expected to vote on public officials, "How good their bloody paid for commercials are", seriously WTF!
Reality is by far the majority of Chinese in China work as near slave labour in factories or as peasants on farms working for a pittance. Don't get confused by numbers and percentages, plus independent thinking, striving for their voice, Chinese tend to be the ones who have already left and live elsewhere in the world. That is aproximately 40 million people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overseas_Chinese which you blithely reduce nothing.
The numbers of Chinese who have a voice in China and are in a position to control anything only number in the tens of thousands, it is an corporo-Fascist Autocracy after all.
Internet censorship in China is made significantly easier because by far the majority can not afford and must gain access through a limited number of internet cafe's. As time progresses and the majority of people living in China release how backward they are in their rights and how cowardly they have been in failing to fight for them, will of course start to baulk at passing that future on to their children and grandchildren and strive to break the autocracy that controls them.
So in a future China where 1.3 billion want internet access, we will see how effective the government is at censoring them and keeping them cowed.
There is a little more to it than that. You have to store the content, get it to the manufacturer, return the completed item to the distribution point and the market and promote the distribution point, to get customers to use it. Then of course there is reliability of content and whether people will actually get what they are expecting.
With or with out copyright there will be reliable distribution points which people will rely on to get the expected quality of content, picture and sound not necessarily acting and, story. Consider already available public domain works not all distributors are equal.
Of course the fight back against the excesses of the pigoplists and corrupt politicians, will be slow but sure, first the decriminalisation and return back to purely civil offence, the shortening the period of copyright in conjunction with the assessment of copyright periods bound to the types of work and effort and cost required to produce them and the incomes obtained from those works.
No this is simply another bullshit patent on a data base. The US patent office is letting companies file patent upon data base names, rows, columns and on the queries used.
Soon every company is going to be searching the patents office for filed patents for the various databases out there and filing for patents on them.
You can imagine oracle getting sued for aiding in patent infringement for not blocking existing patented database names, rows and columns.
Basically M$ are patenting nothing, not the device used, not the network, not the software, not maps, not already recorded data, not the use of data in maps to plot routes or avoid routes. The US patents office is allowing them to file a patent upon a relational data base reference, query and output. Blatant corruption by a US public institution to drive patent fees and civil court proceedings.
Kahn also does not have to validate the credentials of the individual to ensure the person so names i actually capable of functioning in the speciality that the education qualification would indicate.
I don't see any problem with on-line as long as the final testing and qualification is done in person and verified.
So free learning and pay for written, oral and practical testing. Free is important to keep out the right wing rip off merchants, whose scam is to charge government to provide pretend education for a year and then not give a crap about the result (they'll be faking numbers of students, pretending late drop outs, faking tests results). Of course if students fail the testing they can always pay for individual or small group tutoring in the areas they failed and retake the tests.
Once it is online, you only need 'one' school, and lessons plans written 'once' for each element of each subject of each course. So one of nor recurring payment for work produced with copyright owned by government and then distributed free by government. After all it would be supremely crazily insane to contract out online educations thousands upon thousands of times for identical efforts to be repeated year in and year out, now that would be blatant corruption and in affect sending out million dollar welfare checks to education copyright scam artists.
Aircraft are 'theoretically' over-engineered by a factor of 120-300%, there fixed it for you. Problem being over-engineering safety factors can be sucked up manufacturing failures, including material impurities and, fabrication techniques. Also unaccounted for impacts on strength, including radiation, resonant frequency loads and, temperature loads. Then add in unforeseen constructions of all of the above and before you know it planes snap in half and wings fall off.
If unaccounted stress fractures occur that the theory used to calculate the design with it's 'theoretical' safety factors, than it is logical to ground those aircraft until the theory can be adjusted to account for the stress fracture failures, otherwise you are flying a plane based upon best guess engineering.
Waiting until the wings fall off one at the highest point of load, taking off and landing, so as to deposit it's fuselage, cargo and passengers upon surrounding suburbs, does not make any sense. My suggestion is if the recommendation of the manufacturing executives proves incorrect than they all be executed if anyone dies as a result.
On noes they stole the obvious minimalist design for a TV screen, one that has been used on cheap scifi for flat screens for ever (generally driven by let's save money on sets to spend on special effects). You mean someone stole the chiclet keyboard http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiclet_keyboard, you see it is all wikipedias fault, how dare they have a section on a generic 'CHEAP' keyboard design. I always thought the reason chiclet keyboards never dominated was a lack of tactile feedback limiting the typing usability and why the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_M_keyboard is still refereed to as the best keyboard ever.
You Apple wanks, are really out there, seems like Pluto's orbit is too close perhaps there is a new planet out in the Oort cloud Apple marketdroids can call home. Perhaps you can rename it to the iOort cloud and permanently claim patent and copyright on any objects found out their.
Lets be honest the Visio design was driven by cost efficiency, least amount of materials and, reduced packaging ie. cheap but, wait, does that mean Apple minimalist design was to actually same money and produce cheaper gear, gees, you guys are really good at marketing you sure got them suckers fooled.
Funny that your fantasy is not borne out in reality. Sure minority religious groups also did emigrate seeking religious freedom but they were only minorities and did not reflect the majority of emigres seeking freedom from religious persecution and who ensured secular government in the constitution of many countries. Hyper-religious do not pursue secular government they pursue religious home-lands with the humorous but deserved end result of endless disputes of who it the most correctly religious and who should leave for failing to adhere to religious perfection.
Apparently not for those on the receiving end. All the kittens, puppies and babies guilty of war crimes. All life has value, those that ignore this devalue their own life to less than nothing.
With regard to the recurrent major ice ages that have occurred over the last couple of million years, this is likely a cosmological event and not driven by what occurs on the earth.
Not that the majority of the human population is clustered around the coast with the majority of major cities being coastal.
In the even of a significant flooding catastrophe making large areas of those cities uninhabitable, the pressure to imprison for life or execute those that were the major proponents of activities that likely brought about those events will be undeniable. Whether corporate executive or politician, you can be assured that those affected both rich and poor will be screaming for their heads.
The only lack of consensus is driven by religious ignorance and greed. That is not considered a lack of consensus that is simply mass media PR=B$ which is now largely being ignored.
An understanding of the benefits of a secular governments, precludes acceptance of any religious government or nation, specifically because secular governments were created as some random geopolitical event but as a direct results of the abuses of religious governments and nations.
As for innocent, I know you buggers always refuse to accept it but innocent is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. With all the evidence publicly shown and challenged and then beyond a shadow of a doubt the person is judged guilty.
Learn to separate a government from a country and it's people. The current extremist Israeli government routinely abuses a percentage of the population apparently for religious reason by as it turns out it has more to do with land thefts perpetrated my a small percentage of very wealthy Israeli's and the expense of other Israeli and Palestinians.
Just for you information, no one ever considers it humane to conduct arrests, trials and, executions by firing a missile into crowded cities and shrugging at the bystanders killed and injured.
Maybe if those idiots who allowed them in didn't operate with blinders http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blinders on they might have thought about things for a bit.
What could possibly go wrong with exposing airline workers to radiation, hmm, cumulative effects, airport radar, aircraft radar (radar altimeters), xray machines, plus of course the workers exposure to random events like dental and other xrays. Now what could possibly go wrong with adding eight hours of backscatter xrays to that load.
It does reduce if you want to leverage your percentage by forcing the company to go belly up and then greedily acquiring the remaining bits on the cheap and relaunching. So what if a bunch if people get fired in the interim, screw em, they didn't make you enough money so they deserve it. As for the other investors mwahaha.
The shenanigans and manipulations that go on with corporations can be mind blowing. Often those executives and investors claim one thing when their intent is something different all together. When did the name change from Occam Capital (the minority share holder blocking the capital injection) to Linlux SARL occur, why did it occur, how do they intend to leverage the new obvious focus on 'Linux'.
Better yet, all you tech people, all you coders, stop bloody coding 'enter password' and start coding enter pass phrase. Three or more nonsense words strung togethor that are easier to remeber ie. password in power cable. At least you will see some diversity from 1235, password, qwerty etc. etc. or at the very least we will start to see a new statistic 'most popular pass phrases'.
It with certainty did indicate one thing, the Massachusetts Lt. Governor gave false testimony to the police regarding a traffice accident, now, normally that is a crime so why is he not being charged with it. One rule for them another rule for us.
There is always the imfamous mass media interview. Friend of the corporate owners or enemies of the corporate owners, it shows up in the language and questions, what a joke thought, friends don't get asked questions, the whole interview is an acted out script.
Those 'question' have been sent out to the corporate pet weeks ahead of time so a whole team can go through them to ensure the 'answers' sell what ever message they want to sell and the 'questions' are revised, added to and deleted to ensure the desired message is sold.
So the greatest caimpagn dodge of all where corporations secretly donate millions of dollars, the PR=B$ interview trail. Just to make sure watch enemies attacked, slandered, leading questions on the self same fawning shows. Most amusing is when a pet poltician get's a bit uppity and thinks they can tell their media master's what's what, and those interviews all of a sudden start going off script and they are slapped down.
So the message here is when you refuse, you are not just protecting you rights but everybodies rights. When they ask why you are refusing, politely tell them not only are you protecting your rights but you are also protecting their rights.
This is the most important thing people forget, it is the quislings togethor with the betrayers that take away everybodies rights, as a citizen it is your responsibility to ensure that your rights are adhered otherwise you betray all other citizens by exsposing them to greater risk by leaving them singled out.
Get refused transport for upholding your rights and the rights of all other citizens inclding the fools attempting to infringe you rights, well, it's alternate transport day, catch a cab, take a bus or drive for a change. As for those quislings that fail to uphold every citizens rights let them know what they are really doing.
Wrong, there will always be news content provider who thinks the free advertising and link back to their news site is worth a paragraph of their story. Let's see who wins in the 'International News' stakes, delusional corporate executives with bullshit spreadsheets of enormous profits demanding ludicrous bonuses or realistic news editors who realise that their competitors will be silencing themselves from a huge audience delivered via tens of thousands of news marketing services (calling them news aggregators is just corporate executive wank trying to justify bonuses).
All those thousands of sites do in reality is open news services to intense completion and show the bullshit advertising a news services up for what they are, criminal propaganda services.
Which is rather pointless as it is a state law not a federal law, in both cases it is state not federal law. Basically the manufacturers can tell Apple to go get knotted and leave Apple to pursue retailers in the affected US states. US federal laws don't apply in China and obviously US state laws are complete and utterly meaningless, as of course US states can not enter into treaties with other countries to enforce laws across international boundaries. So manufacturer and sell and deliver my mail order in the affected states, in the rest of the world, thumb their noses at Apple Inc. Besides "Think Different" Einstein billboards for Apple. So maybe Apple can complain if the dolls are blue and sport IBM logos, otherwise their history of theft pretty much leaves them in the cold.
Ahh yes, but Texas oil billionaires still made more money, so, "Mission Accomplished". So cut US and it's sucker allies off from Iranian oil and how high will the oil price go? How many millions more will oil companies make? How much extra will Americans pay at the pumps?
No pats on the back for M$ for that, remeber that stability wasn't for free. Everyone that bought windows 2.3, windows 3, windows 3.1, windows for workgroups, windows 95, windows 98, windows 98 second edition, windows NT (various versions), windows millennium edition paid for it and paid through the nose, not only in software costs but lost time.
Even then no real improvement in stability reliability and security occurred until Linux put M$ under competitive pressure. Even then a dog like Vista still came out. How bad is Vista try three days to complete an install complete with all patches to an original day one disk (slowest patching in history).
The US should watch out it could shoot itself in foot and end up shoving the bloody stump in it's own mouth. China is in a position to dump US dent back on the US by using it to buy up US copyright content and taking it back to China and rent it back to the US to further load it into debt.
Now that is the best idea. Simply create a fund that rewards contributions to open text books, straight up performance based. Create a medium to host those books, say state universities and then allow qualified people to make what ever contributions they wish at the end of a regular period say, every six months, have am independent board assess the contribution and reward accordingly. Seek public donations to the fund as well as government contributions to extend the fund.
So rewards together with public acknowledgement of efforts and expertise according to effort, whether complete books, chapters, paragraphs, graphics, interactive elements, revisions, indexing or just proof reading. As a California fund all rewards could be restricted to Californian residents, other states and countries can create their own funds, whilst contributing to the same text books (rewards for spelling adjustments ).
This is about the one of the few areas in the education arena that can be performance based, about the only other area would be the production of lesson plans based around the open textbooks.
