ATI makes some nice cards, but only for Windows users. Their Linux drivers are infamous for a reason. If you are using Linux and want properly designed drivers, you really have no choice except to use an nVidia card.
To be completely correct, there would be no "life after doom."
doom n.
1. Inevitable destruction or ruin.
2. Fate, especially a tragic or ruinous one.
3. A decision or judgment, especially an official condemnation to a severe penalty.
4. Judgment Day.
5. A statute or ordinance, especially one in force in Anglo-Saxon England.
Because, quite simply, an IP address is not a phone number. The Do Not Call list only applies to phone numbers. Therefore, all someone would have to do is call you using your IP address instead of your phone number and they would be exempt from any penalties.
The Do Not Call list law really should be changed to fix this loophole.
Microsoft's campaign against spam has netted them $54 million
Well, now we know why they're interested in going after spammers. To make some quick money - the reduction of spam that may result is just a small side benefit.
How did this spammer, or any other spammer, directly hurt Microsoft? IMHO, the only people these spammers hurt are the average consumers who have to put up with hundreds of junk mail messages in the inboxes every day. Microsoft shouldn't be the one making a fortune of lawsuits against spammers; the people who are directly effected by the spam should be.
Nobody in their right mind would buy one of these discs. Unlimited-view DVDs can be easily found for $10-15, and a five day rental is usually about $3.79. They would have to sell these for $0.99 to get anyone to buy them, and even then I imagine that most people would much rather spend a bit more money to get an item that they can watch again whenever they feel like it without running back to the store to buy another copy.
Also, think of the environmental impact of these disposable discs! Thousands of them would be thrown away every day, and our landfill sites would quickly overflow with these discs. It is also a complete waste of energy, as using the same amount (or less) of energy could easily produce an item that could be viewed/rented a practically infinite number of times.
What type of idiots think this stuff up? Do they really think this is going to help piracy or something? Just copy it in the eight hours you have it!
Think of how many racks filled with nothing but data storage they must have. This only counts the actual dual-processor machines, so there is bound to be tons of computer stuff that isn't even counted.
It is more a difference in system architecture than it is a matter of one system being better than the other.

Are you saying that now we can, for example, sue Ford because they produced the car that was purchased by a drunken driver who killed someone?
A book publisher can sue Xerox because one of their copy machines was purchased for the purpose of making illegal copies of books?
A camera maker? Companies that make pens?

The 4MB size of the complete Mozilla browser is smaller than many of Microsoft's IE updates have been.
So, while you may have to re-download the whole browser, the actual file size is still smaller.
Why is it that Microsoft feels the need to do everything Google does? Microsoft is not exactly losing money.
I'm waiting for the day that Microsoft announces that they are buying back all their stock just so they can do another IPO to be like Google!
I've put up a mirror of this, here:

FilePlanet also has this:

I believe that it works for eight hours after opening the disc, not after buying it.

If you did this, almost all the e-mail sent by AOL users would get filtered out.
Wait, that might not be so bad...
What, no new name?
hackers@gmail.com: It was $200, then a story about it was posted on Slashdot, and it is now $800.

It's funny, laugh!
All proxies can simply be blocked, which makes such software useless.
