I agree with it...
shut the whole internet down for a determined period of time.
people don't miss things until they're gone.
maybe after it comes back on they'll take more care of it so it improves, instead of deteriorates.
From the looks of the broken pieces, it seems that the CD-R is just a plastic disc with the label applied on top doubling as the writing surface, ie, when i peeled the top off the a plastic disc piece, the shiny surface that the laser burns into peeled away as well. And it was VERY thin.
so what if digital can equal 35mm film?
when I want to take a good picture, I use 120 film with a 6x6 camera (that's medium format for those who don't know).
and if digital manages to equal 120 film one day, I'll use an 8x10 large format camera.
who needs an enlarger with that, huh? just need a dark room, and voila, 1:1 8x10 contact prints!
(and for those interested, I remember that it is possible to rent a darkroom with an 8x10 enlarger at Toronto Image Works. I used to rent darkrooms there all the time when I lived in T.O. Great business.)
This weekend, I've seen a few people wearing "Vote Howard Dean" t-shirts. Now this wouldn't be out of the ordinary if I had not seen those people in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada...
- People called Romanes they go the house?
- It, it says 'Romans go home'.
- No it doesn't. What's latin for 'Roman'? Come on...
- aaah
- Come on.
- Ah! Romanus?
- Goes like?
- Annus?
- Vocative plural of 'annus' is?
- Anni?
- Romani.
- Eunt? What is eunt?
- Go.
- Conjugate the verb 'to go'.
- Uh. Ire - Uh... eo, is, it, imus, itis, eunt.
- So eunt is?
- Ah, Uh, Third person plural of present indicative. They go.
- But Romans go home is an order, so you must use the?
- The imperative.
- Which is?
- Ahm. Oh, oh, um... I, I.
- How many Romans?
- Ah. Plural, plural... ite, ite.
- Ite.
Domus? Nomonative? 'Go home'? This is motion towards, isn't it, boy?
- Dative, sir.
Ahh. No, not dative, not the dative, sir. Oh, Ah. Uh.
The accusative accusative. Ah, Domum, sir. Ab domum! Ah! Oooh! Ah!
- Except that 'domus' takes the?
- The locative, sir.
- Which is?
- Domum. Aaah! ah.
- Domum... um... Understand?
- Yes, sir.
- Now write it out a hundred times.
- Yes, sir. Thank you, sir. Hail Caeser, sir.
- Hail Caeser. And if it's not done by sunrise, I'll cut your balls off.
- Ooh, thank you, sir. Thank you, sir. Hail Caeser and everything, sir.
As part of my job, I get to read a lot of documents written in English or French by Anglophones or Francophones.
From my point of view, it seems clear that an increasingly high number of people's writing skills in either language are decreasing.
Sometimes, I have to process a text with parts that don't make any sense, and very often, when I call the author to clear up the confusion, I get one of these answers:
a) Ooooohh my God. I really screwed up there. Please delete that sentence. [Even if it looks like some important information is getting deleted]
b) Hmmm. I don't even remember what I was trying to say!
c) Don't disturb me with unimportant details. It's perfectly legible! [Denial is not just a river in Egypt]
I'm really interested in doing machinima, and it also just happens that I'm about to buy a new computer, mainly for home video editing footage from my sony minidv camcorder... and gaming (just in time for Half Life 2 - which is coming with machinima tools according to the article).
But I'm really unsure what hardware to get based on my budget... I do plan on putting more money on the foundation of the system (CPU, mobo..) and less money on the videocard at first, to upgrade later to a top of the line card when I get more $...
Basically, my question is, between Intel and AMD above 2.6 GHz, which is better for the same amount of money?
Also, I would like to know if it is possible to do video editing on a Linux system, and if so, what configuration?
the "raging" infected who attack anything that moves don't actually fight between themselves until there is only one left standing (e.g. in the tunnel)?
also, am i the only one who saw this: during the initial part of the movie when Jim is walking alone in London, some guy can be seen walking in the far background.
I was expecting Jim to go "HEY!!" and run after him... but it seems obvious he's just someone who happened to walk into the shot.
Wouldn't it be more scientifically interesting to establish bacteria colonies on a space-borne time capsule of sorts, with just enough resources to enable them to mutate over a set number of generations and adapt to an increasingly harsh environment?
this is exactly what happened in the "Mafia Boy" case.
the cops listened to the phone conversations from the house to determine who was doing the DoS attacks. as a side "bonus", they nailed "mafia boy"'s father on charges of uttering threats.
