    I understand some of the uses, I just don't see the home user having a lot of need for it...
    My dhcp lease duration don't need to be that accurate, nor do I need to be with 14 ms's of NIST for home usage. I can't argue the need at a business level so I guess I am just debating semantics in a echo chamber :)

    I can see that maybe but if your system time is off wouldn't you want your router time to agree with your local time vs outside time ?

    OS2 rocked, is and was one of the most solid dependable OS's ever...It was one of the BIGGEST marketing coups in the history of MARKETING that we are not using OS/2 on Alpha chips...Both were UNDENIABLY superior to the competition at the time. That is Bill Gates TRUE skill, marketing and advertising, he's a poor coder, and an even worse industry icon.

    motivator for more than half of our very large clan as well. It can be seen by the number of people just chatting, I also see a corelation between age, the younger are generally more driven and competitive, while the older are generally more relaxed and there for the social aspect. This does not always hold true of course but I've been playing online games for a long time in many formats and that's what I've seen.
    Also I reallt think in games like EQ, people underestimate the number of women playing and just NOT telling anyone they are female. After a long term association with several guild members I was able to pick out numerous closet women playing male characters and actively trying to hide there sex.

Sorry but you're not gonna take the money out of politics, or the greasy backroom compromise dealing...That is the DEFINITION and NATURE of politics, it is not new, it has been going on since people decided that gathering in a circle and censuring someone was preferable to beating them to death. It would be nice if the corporate politics was pushed back into the boardroom and out of the federal capital but that isn't going to happen at the state level, and took and armed rebellion last time. I also disagree with her stand on the death penalty, the point wasn't to rehabilitate, EVER, it was to protect you and me, and PUNISH the person incapable of living with the rules of society. Based on that I still am for the death penealty, I can't dispute its greater cost, but if we emptied the jails of the useless drug convictions, the remaining hardcore sociopaths could be dealth with in a manner fitting their individual case. All in all she sounds almost plausible but there is NO WAY I'd toss my vote away, and having seen what Nader vote did to us, I won't make the same mistake again...

If you find a way to cut into their profit they will strike back, after all they have a 'right' to make money off of us....King George has repeatedly made that clear to an ungrateful US public.

    #3Sure I'll accept auto-updates as part of the product warranty, as soon as the M$ accepts financial responsibility for any downtime,damages or the cost of fixing programs that no longer work following an update, like corporate customers are the only ones with that problem.

    If the answer to that is NO, then STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND CALL THE BUILDING OWNER, inform him of the sub-standard wiring you found and ask him how you can 'work together' to get it fixed without any inconvienience, like reporting it :)
    If your company owns the building, GET PROFESSIONAL HELP 220/440 is not for playing with, and any micro variations WILL cause problems in the future. Our MTF (money transfer faciclity) had a single strand not properly grounded in a secure vault, and everytime then bloody door was slammed it caused a parity error on a mulitprocessing enviroment and forced several hundred transactions to be re-run. Took 2 or 3 weeks and power monitors to locate the short and LOTS OF TIME to correct, minimize it by using people WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

I use it to force certain companies to provide people instead of a VRU....sorry I can only select option 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 :) Think about what you are saying, why would they move forward if it means giving up profit ?? Upgrades COST, when they can increase what they charge you WITHOUT increasing anything else, BINGO the dream market for telecom's and it exists in the US today....

    hell LIVID is a better name. While your use of verbage might get you mod'd down, the core of your post is RIGHT ON THE MONEY. Someone got MiLlIoNs for this 'effort'. They will spend millions more re-branding signs for what benefit ?? Confusing an already fragmented market ?? This is a HUGE waste of capital and if the management of the company wasn't brain-dead corporate drones they'd be firing someone. Instead they are lining up like bobble-heads to approve it and waste company value. No wonder Palm's market share is slipping again....

    Here in CA you have to fund the switch which allows you to feed from your supply to the lines, even if you don't EVER want to feed back, PG&E got some help in the legislation, this run s around 10K minimal. The CA government in its infinite wisdom also institutied a Farking tax on power feedback, in order to offset the cost of people leaving the system while it is so deep in financial trouble, so now even if you DON'T USE the power grid, you are required to pay a tax on the approx. amount you would use....Our rural neighborhood association just went through the governmental hoops to get this working...what a friggin nightmare.... Unless you have several hundred potential users, there is no way this is financially feasible thanks to our friends in government, always out to protect corporate interests at the expense of taxpayers freedom and choice.....

    important computers in the world and it RUNS WINDOWS you deserve to be killed in a slow and very painful way :) No questions asked, no excuses taken, there is no reason why ANYTHING CRITICAL should be left unsecured, or on a windows system which is as good as left wide open....

    Note even our companies highly critical sub-systems don't run windows, and we are just a bank. Nor do we run IIS anymore thanks to M$'s last great security outing :) I plan on seeing M$ mail products out the door on this one :)

    you a right, I presented the worst possible case, as if you were already 'being watched'. The average person slides thru the system cleanly and silently, but the point is the information is being squirreled away in places you would not even think for reason most of us never even consider. I've supported a HUGE DB for a big financial company, we belong to the NCAG, and buy and sell vast chunks of data to just sift through, so some accountant egg-head can try some new query to sell someone something...
    How many times has an email been posted on usenets, with full headers for archival purposes ? Who knows how many people mirroed it, and where it went from there...
    Uncle Sam has billions and is still printing, a yen to know everything about everyone, for our own good of course, and more time than common sense....A recipe for something evil, and predictably stupid...
