  7. Quit bitching and moaning on Red Light Cameras Raise Crash Risk, Cost · · Score: 1

So far the comments have been a lot of bitching and moaning about the cameras. The real problem is the people driving do not read the actual laws. While they vary some from state to state, at least most I have seen indicate the yellow light is to warn you the red is commong and your ARE REQUIRED to be out of the intersection before it turns red. People tend to conveniently forget about the last part.

Here is Oregon it is so bad that cross traffic has to wait after the light turns green to ensure it is safe. Except for lights where cameras are known to exist.

I lived in Germany for a few years and worked for a software company there. Another American in the company was on the Autobahn sometime after 2:00am not staying right with no traffic on the road. The law in Germany plainly states you stay right unless you are passing, witch by the way is the law in many states here. This was 1993 and he got a ticket costing over $400 dollars. Guess what, he followed the law after that.

That is the reason for the cameras. Dick heads thinking they are more important than the other people on the road are the problem. Red light runners are right there with the ass holes that pull into the intersection and block traffic in the other direction when the light changes.

Read the law, get over it.

I had a long talk one day with a person that spent a lot of poor years working on solar power solutions. By the time it started to take off, he had several important patents. He found GE using hardware covered under several of his patents and called them on it.

    They said "sue us".

He of course said "with what money".

The patent system is useless to the average US citizen. It is the domain of rich corporations for sticking their tongues out at each other and making a circus of the courts.

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say about my post.

I am doing OK in life but I am far from rich. Quite the contrary, if I was willing to screw everybody who got in my way I would probably be doing much better than I am.

My father is the son of an Alabama share cropper. My mother's father drove a delivery truck all his life. On both sides I have relatives that have gone to college and those that have not. To a one, if we had bullied others (growing up in the 60's and 70's) our parents would have given us reason to not do it again. I am still amazed because at less than 10, if I did something, my mother knew about before I could get home.

I believe a working society should make opportunities for everybody. That does not mean the opportunities are equal but those willing to work should have the right to do so. Those not willing to work should fuck off and die. Those that just can't work for a legitimate reason should get help. Those with talent should, and are willing to work should be rewarded for it.

There are dipshits at all levels. Those that bully because another kid is good at math deserve a special place in purgatory. Their parents, whether it is because they are oblivious or just at bad, deserve a special place in hell. Those that are rich and outsource to save a few bucks should be shot now.

Yes, I believe this country is sliding into the realm shown in the movie "Idiocracy" and the angle of the slide is steepening. With the body of knowledge science has provided us, the fact that a single person believes the Earth was created 9,000 years (or whatever) ago is just fucking mind boggling.
