The Romanian equivalent - 958 (058 before the renumbering) - is still going strong - all-trough in form of a 2 node cluster - but with the original voice - digitized.
But by not making your great teachings & ideas public, you have a positive impact on very few persons. When i'll have kids I would like them having learn computers & electronics from books written by you. But as you don't want to help the world but only your neighbors... Hell... write the books and publish them on the 'net with a free license if you don't like the hassles of publishing them... but don't let the whole world in the dark.
He found the legal work-around to run the cheap Vista in Parallels. Install in BootCamp which is legal as is not emulated and run it with Parallels as is already installed (and the EULA forbids only the Installation in VMs)
I also live in Romania, i saved some more and i bought a mac mini. And most of my friends now are considering getting macs as the cheap PCs usualy blow up after 1-2 years (extremely bad PSUs). The brand name PCs (which come with a Windows licence) are more expensive in Romania than the macs and their warranty is horrible (about 2 months to order replacement parts during warranty).
We have done this at my company - as we have 4 locations for our departments (3 spread in the same city and the 4th about 200km away) we set up 4 20" imacs to run a little apple-script at login to start a 4 way iChat video-conference (using a jabber server installed on a linux machine). With the new 24" iMacs it'll look even better and the have brighter screens and more powerful speakers.
EMC DMX3 with an ED-48000B FC Director. Actual setup - works flawlesly - you can start low and scale up to 1Pb/array & 64 2gb FC connections/array without any downtime.

We would very much like such a party in Romania. It would be hugely popular in the wake of the lastest events: In order to please the EU, the police concluded that all computers connected to local unregistered LANs are used for hosting/trading illegal software/movies/mp3s and began breaking the doors and seizing the computers of anyone not connected to the Cable operators who "sponsored" this operation. Link Here (in romanian - but the picture is worth a thousands words)
The jail term for software piracy in romania is up to 15 years (more than rape) and in a few days the police arrested almost 100 people for this - with the only proof being an IP address.
6) ELIGIBILITY: This Promotion is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
The prizes will be received only by Fat Old Americans - who - as anyone knows - cannot properly use a computer.
Yep. Tried to install Debian on one CF card and had the bad ideea to setup a 4 mb swap partition. The machine had little RAM and it swapped a lot. It finished installing but it began spewing I/O errors I tried to format the CF in the camera - bad ideea number 2. The "uniform wearing" algorythm spreaded the bad sectors everywhere - the card became absolutelly unusable.
Look at this PowerBook.
Everything besides the screen works OK after a car accident. Even the optical drive. The owner still uses it with an external monitor.
This IS an RELIABLE LAPTOP !
The macmini is not as hard as is as scary to open. I upgraded myself the ram in mine but i still shudder when i remember the rip-all-components-and-crack-the-mainboard sound those plastic tabs make when you open it.
I feel your pain. I specifically bought the Australian release of the Back To The Future Trilogy DVDs because the others had the comments about the "terrorists" cut out.
Five thousand more and Vegeta can start worrying ...
... if your mp3s were copied from a mp3 CD/DVD so all the mp3 files are READ-ONLY :)
An if your cellphone's os crashes or it's battery dies and when it restarts it asks you to set the date and time ?
