You're going to screw everything up. Everyone knows that everything good that happens now will be because of Obama, and everything bad that happens will be Bush's fault even if it happens 4 years from now. Get with the program dude.
Remember that Congress has been run by the Democrats, and the warrantless wiretapping bill was originally written and passed by Democrats. What was the Democrat controlled Congress' approval rating the last two years? Who's got total control of DC now?
It's hilarious reading all these ridiculous posts demanding Bush be investigated written by people who have been completely brainwashed into submission. You've lost more liberties in the name of environmentalism and socialism than the patriot act could have ever dreamed of taking. The difference is that the liberties taken by the Republicans have been mostly given back. Good luck getting your liberty back from the Democrats.
The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act had nothing to do with this crisis. The companies that took advantage of the new things this law allowed are not in financial crisis. None of them. They're all healthy. This rumor started from a total lack of anything for Democrats to blame this on but themselves.
You mean poor Republicans having to fix a problem caused by Democrats that started all the way back with Carter? Have you seen any calls for congressional hearings? Investigations? Know why? Because the Democrats can't find any Republicans to blame it on. The NYT tried to blame one of McCain's aides but their article was quickly debunked as total crap. I'd love it if one day the media started getting sued for the crap they invent.
Poor Democrats are having to face up to the brutal reality that their beloved socialism doesn't always work so fucking well. A few hundred years of history should have made that obvious though.
It gets really old seeing the same old tired arguments against evolution from people who completely fail to understand the basics of what science even is.
Please go study evolution, then post. The science of evolution has absolutely nothing to do with the initial origin of life. It doesn't cover it AT ALL. The science of evolution is the study of what happened to life AFTER it originated.
It will only die if you let it. That's the way this country works, if something doesn't have much support it will die. It's a government of the people and if the people are silent or if only a few speak up then that means maybe the bill should be left to die.
Oh, and griping on slashdot doesn't count either, though I know there are a huge number of people who think it does (or worse, should). Sites like this are great at creating an illusion of support.
If this is important to you then start a public awareness campaign and get out there and let people know how important this bill is. If you and everyone else doesn't then this bill might die.
how easy it is for Americans to believe every bit of enemy propaganda that crosses their way. Reading the comments here it wouldn't be hard to believe the majority of slashdot readers are members of CAIR. You're supposed to fight against people who want to kill you, not help them make their jobs easier.
Noticed how rich and fat Gore has gotten since he started his religion? I'm just waiting for Tipper to start wearing way too much mascara and he'll fit right in with the rest of them.
I never understood why people needed to make a decision about this war. If someone kills your people, then kills more of them, then even more, and 40 years later is still killing them, then you've already been at war for over 4 decades. You just haven't been fighting your end of it. Your choices are either force the people killing you to stop, or let them keep killing you with no repercussions. Perhaps publishing bloody images of all the victims of terrorism would help you understand this, or do you only want images that help your side of the argument published?
This is what happens when people fail to stop global warming. Their homes become a massive desert. Too bad these unfortunate people didn't have someone like Al Gore around to save them.
is that there is no such thing as "fair". I taught it to my kids, and my parents taught it to me. Do we really have that many incompetent parents out there who have failed to teach their children some of the most basic and important facts about reality? Are there really that many people alive who not only think "fair" exists but that it should be legislated? How in the world did these people survive the cutting of their birthday cake?
You can't use the "average" commute in this way. Average is just that, the average of the longest trips with the shortest. There are hundreds of thousands of people who have commutes longer than 30 minutes and I've known quite a few who drove more than 45 minutes, myself included. Citing some "average" means absolutely nothing here.
If an electric car's range is 40 miles they will not be mostly charged at night. They'll have to be charged constantly all day long. Many people will have to charge their car before they can go home after work. The night time charge will end and stop, not run all night long.
Fail. That graph shows usage for only one year. The price of oil has been rising because demand has been rising while supply has not. You need a graph that compares China's usage over a series of years before it can be relevant. Second, you're assuming that all the oil goes into making gasoline. It doesn't, so that graph is misleading at best anyway.
That graph you posted is nothing more than a perfect example of how easy it is to fool people by providing only one set of numbers arranged in one specific way. That's called "propaganda."
If the USA were causing the massive increase in demand you might have a point, but it's not. Conservation would do very little to demand because of how much oil China and other developing nations are using in ever increasing amounts.
That's a terrible way of being a good environmental steward. He could use those resources in a different way that is much more efficient but instead they are being wasted on something highly inefficient. That's like saying building an ethanol plant is being a good environmental steward.
...and when Firefox 5 is out, people will say the same about Firefox 3 users. "OMG security vulnerabilities have fun browsing on your sieve." People said the same thing about 1 vs 1.5 as well. You HAVE to upgrade to 1.5 because it's the secure version and it doesn't have all those security holes. What's the difference?

People still live in the same house for more than a few years?
Myths.

No. There is still a lot of commercial software that does not have a linux version. It only takes one hole to prevent a switch to linux from windows.

Hey, that does work. A speaks, and B chooses whether to listen or not. Sweet.

Actually the best way to archive is to store it in the transporter system by creating a feedback loop in the transporter buffer.
I wish your response made sense.
Fail.

Look at this graph from 2007:
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/ene_oil_con-energy-oil-consumption
If you go by total usage, the USA ranks #1.
If you go by per capita, we're #15.
Everything changes depending on how you arrange the numbers.
That graph you posted is nothing more than a perfect example of how easy it is to fool people by providing only one set of numbers arranged in one specific way. That's called "propaganda."

What's the difference?
XP security patches don't stop till 2014. W2K security patches stop at the end of next year.
...but we gotta keep tryin to keep the masses paranoid don't we? Go slashdot!
