It won't be difficult; we all know who they are and where they are located," says the man, who underlines the group's international ties by speaking Spanish with the accent of a Spaniard while using Mexican slang."
LOL.. the guy its using a text to speech program.. !!!
"The evidence we have collected proves that there is a ban on secured authentications for communication tools, such as MSN, Yahoo Messenger, or the Facebook Chat. Syrian people who use these services should be aware that local authorities already stoled their passwords and that all their communications are being intercepted."
And as someone who has been implementing & supporting Proxy solutions for top 500 level companies in Latin America (yea, including Blue Coat & Squid).
I can tell that at least with Blue Coat the "MSN" Interception was possible with really old versions of MSN, Blue Coat Stopped selling and even supporting the IM interception product years ago, why ? because it was really difficult to keep up with the new versions of MSN..
So:
1.- The article is misleading
2.- All the Syrian country uses MSN v 1.0

M$ Exec 2 : So what ?
M$ Exec 1 : Many people will switch from IE to Firefox, thats not good for US. Good for them, but not good for US.
M$ Exec 2 : Mmm.. lets attack their distribution systems, you know, make the distribution more difficult, blame them for not having digital certs, for using mirrors, etc, etc.. Quickly, someone write a paper about this!!
I have been using computers for +15 years, woking as: programmer, tech support, tech support manager, software architect, security consultant, freelance and many other hats.
I have Cisco, Microsoft, Novell and RedHat Certifications (and not the basic ones, im MSCE, CNE, RHCE, etc.).
I have been using Unix and Linux for more than 10 years.
I have been using/administering/fixing all kinds of computers: Pc's, Bull systems, Tandem, Data General, Digital, IBM, Hitachi, etc, etc, etc
And after all that.. YES I DO USE A MAC and love the command line (yes i also have a gentoo linux server at home)
Who are you to tell me that this machine is not good for me ?
You spent 2 hours to bring up the system just because it has no init scripts (rc2.d or/etc/init.d).. ??
You are in no way a experienced Unix/Linux Admin.
Yes even with 20 servers a good Admin can bring those machines in 20 minutes max..
Let's say that im creating a new language, let's call it "C&&"
And i will create the compiler for the language C&&, in what language i will code ? not in C&& that dont even exist yet!!, im just creating the compiler right now!!
So, let me ask, in what language was coded the first C# compiler ? or the first C++ compiler ? or the first Java compiler ?
The C++ compiler its writted in basic ?
The C# compiler its writted in assembler ?
The java compiler its writted in java ?
isn't C the basis for all the compilers code ?
I have been a Unix/Linux head for the last 12 or 15 years.
but lets face it.. you always need windows for something, to open a video, to open a presentation, to create a nice diagram, etc.
Yes, i know that there are zillions of programs to do that on linux, but maybe thats the problem, so much choice, so little time..
With OS X, i get all the unix power, all the shell flexiblity, all the X benefits and all the commercial alternatives.
The GUI its really nice, and even my wife can use it whitout knowing a thing about computers.
1 year ago, i switch from PC to mac. I have an ibook and i use it for everything.. yes, linux its cool and i have a linux server for internet access, but linux has failed on the desktop area, OS X its the best desktop environment i have used EVER..
6 months ago, my wife had the need of a laptop (she actually its on a little town with no computer expertise, i can say that maybe she its the only person on that small town who has a computer, yes, its a small town on a remote place in Oaxaca Mexico).
I get her an ibook (she only uses it to surf the web and email me).
Thanks god, thanks god, thanks god, because if for some dumb reason i had got a Windows based computer for her, oh god. I just imagine the problems.
BTW: i liked so much her ibook that i also bought one for me and its the machine that i use today. (no windows here, 1 OS X laptop, 1 Linux server/gateway/nat, 1 FreeBSD squid server, life its good).

After reading TFA.. i found:

You don't have a caching transparent proxy ? Then it's time to setup a linux with squid ...
UUCP over X.25 or over 300 bauds modems ? that were good times !!
Go to passport.com and register any email address.
There you have it, you don't need a MSN account to use the MSN IM service.
Simple..
How the LPIC compares against the RHCE ?
What is the best ? (yea i know experience is the best, i know, but just compare this 2 certs).
But, what proves to be better for the companies and individuals ?
There is a Firefox binary for Mac ..

Who grants those patents ?
I would like one invitation.. demon (at) demon (dot) com (dot) mx Thanks..
That can be a really nice channel... Create a channel like that !! (you can start streaming on the web and then sell it to a network!!)
They are both owned by the Canopy Group, who are they trying to fool ?
Where is Knuth ? Where is Tanenbaum ? Where is Stevens ?
I am really lost on this laguage/compiler stuff.
Let's say that im creating a new language, let's call it "C&&"

Pardon me, but i wonder this:

I use to work at SCO before the caldera buyout, in fact when caldera came in, they fire me, and SCO was a good company, but now its a shame.
