Actully, NO nation has EVER refered to itself as communist. China? The People's Republic. The Soviet Union? USSR stands for Union of Soviet SOCIALISTS REPUBLIC. Notice the caps. Cuba? For the current decade, Fidel Castro has claimed himself to be President of Cuba. He wasn't exactly put there like a typical president, with a vote of some kind.
It's all just spin. Socialism and Communism arn't the same thing, but they are similar. No recognized soverign nation has EVER been truely communist. The only people to live under true communism were the Indian tribes in the Americas before the Europeans came, and the tribes in Africa... also before the Europeans came.
Not to imply that I'm pro-Confederacy or anything, because I'm glad the South lost the war, but..
Just wait until PATRIOT III, it gives the president's cabnet UNLIMITED power, including the ability to ban books, movies, internet websites, video games, and anything else, just to protect the children.
It might sound extreme, but just look at how the FCC is starting to really assert their ability to censor radio and TV.
It's the complete opposite opinion as the one outlines in.. say.. the United States' Constitution. Basically, the Chinese are of the opinion "The individual's rights are second to society." While the Constitution is closer to "The person's rights are more important than those of the status quo."
Microsoft thought it would be a really keen idea to have the messenger service enabled by default for Windows XP HOME edition. That's HOME edition. I'm fully aware of the usefulness of the messenger service in a business environment, but in a HOUSEHOLD?! WHAT THE FUCK? That doesn't make ANY sense to me at all. Nevermind all the other useless shit that's enabled by default on a standard install of XP Home, such as FTP servers and various other services that were easily exploited.
Congress is the only federal entity that can make a law, and the FCC is appointed by... yup Congress. These fucked up restrictions are LAWS enacted by a branch of CONGRESS.
I've got something I'd like to quote, it's sort of integral to the topic...
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Explain something to me... why is it copyrights currently last for what.. about 100 years after the creator's death, but patents lose their sole production status in about 10% of that time?
Am I missing something? Arn't patents just as important to life as copyrights? They both protect creators and their creations... so... why the HUGE FUCKING GAP. Or am I just mis-informed as usual?
Where is the logic behind this judgement? Ignore that it'll get appealed, and focus on this. A 250,000 dollar fine?! That's insane. These companies make upwards of millions of dollars and you fine them a quarter of a million? $250,000 is what the MPAA has established as fair for uploading a movie through bittorrent.
Actully, local laws are always enforced. The only time another law strikes them down is when it gets appealed to a high court, so if the CAN-SPAM act has provisions about local laws, a Federal court would have to look at the case.
"I think people show their ignorance when they say they want politicians to be honest. What are these people talking about? If honest were suddenly introduced to politics, it would throw everything off! The whole system would collapse."
Give credit where credit is deserved, I say. AMD beat Intel fair and square this round, and Intel should do the honorable thing and conceede defeat. Go ahead and have this Intel-AMD fight as long as you want, but face the facts, when it comes to 64 bit computing and compatibility with x86, AMD won. Intel was too set in their old ways to put any kind of fight.
The ease at which Windows systems are compromised isn't solely because it's a flawed operating system. Granted Microsoft has made some pretty fundamental security mistakes, if Windows installs were to suddenly go the way of the Dodo, it's only a matter of time before the next OS of choice is easily compromised, by both Spyware and the Virus/Trojan sects.

I'm not a native latin speaker, but I think you mean "heptuple" not "octuple". A 100% return yeilds nothing. You got exactly what you sponsored. A 200% return is double what you invested. You see where I'm going with this?
Since when did the Constitution say that the government was supposed to favor one business over another?
The United States is capitalist, if the brick and mortor stores can't compete with the internet, then they can't compete. Let them fade away just like the horse and buggy. It's the future; you should embrace it.
Not to mention if you live in a capitalist society, you have the right to choose where you purchase your goods and services. National ID cards don't allow you to join the local Nazi party as a form of protest.

Disabled (Adjective).
Second definition:
Impaired, as in physical functioning: a disabled veteran; disabled children.
I'd call sex a physical function, and I'd call geeks impaired in their ability to get some sex. Due to means that are usually beyond the control of said geeks.
No kidding, now all you need to do is crack the steam version, because anybody is able to preload it. That saves tons of time, because you could download all the content from the offical server, then just install a crack and you're done.
If those fuckers were willing to put somebody in office that the people decided wasn't supposed to be there, then it's just as fair for it to happen again.

What about Austrailia? I'd call the land down under number 51 before anybody else.

Bash.org is what you're looking for.
I'd rather see Vivendi fall apart, they're starting to turn into the RIAA of video games.

Taco is just waiting for HL2 to be released, just like the rest of us.
